At 60 years young and growing up near Nazareth, PA in the 1960’s, 1970’s & 1980’s Mario was our hometown hero and “tough guy” on the tracks, yes, TRACKS! This guy could and probably still can drive the lights out of any type of racing vehicle. Mario driving at WOT is music to my ears...God bless Mario and the Andretti family. Chris formerly of Bethlehem, PA and product of Liberty HS & LEHIGH University. Soon to be driver of a new 2020 DODGE Challenger R/T Scat Pack Widebody with 392 HEMI that I would love to have Mario take me out on the track for some hot laps and his personal review of a modern day street / drag muscle car. 😎

There is nothing wrong with calling it Montona, since it's a bilingual place (Croatian/Italian) pretty much like the rest of Istria. It's just a fact.

Um no🤦🏻. Hate to tell you but most cities have other spoken languages and dialects. That’s like saying because people speak a different language in a city it can be called whatever those people want🥴😂.
Regarding Istra as a whole, there is 95% Slavic inhabitants compared to 5% Italian… what are you on about?

to tell the truth Istria/Istra will always be Istria/Istra nonostant it is under the Austria, Italy, Yugoslavia, Croatia.....it is fabulous and has faboluos people born in it as Mario is.
Mario felt like an italian, and speaked italian....and this is alright, thats because he saddly left Istria/Istra or was forced to left (some left, some were forced to left).....that happens, it isnt the first time in history, it isnt the only land where it happened.......
I am sorry that he didnt have an opportunity to live here in Istra/Istria as long as he wanted but I guess he would never become a Xhampion if he did.....
I think Croatia should recognise Mr. Mario Andretti as the Champion who was born in Istra/Istria that nowadays belongs to Croatia, because Mario`s is deffinetly a great achivement..........
and the most important thing.....if you are a World Champion.....why the borders, states, regions or language or nationality would be your obstacles....
after all you are a World Champion, to be exact Worlds Champion.....the Greatest of all, first among the others.......
I feel Mr. Mario Andretti is italian who lived in Istra/Istria and had to leave Istra/Istria behind....and afterwards sky is the limit as regards his achievments.....and in a way he has nothing to do with Istra/Istria bowadays because he was to little when he left/had to leave.......he left to be Champion of the World.....for all of us and for himself.
    A Great man he is!

Agree, the rap is not appropriate. Just think, if Mario had not been forced to flee Italy, he may have spent his life farming and we may have been deprived of his talent.

Motovun is not an "Italian" town and it's not in Italy as the description states. This arrogance as claiming everything as Italy is the reason why they got pushed out of Istra that was always majority Croatian.
