2 years ago I was saved by Jesus. Having walked out of full blown spiritual warfare to only find its going on within the churches, online preaching etc. Every which way I turn there is deception and it was exhausting and debilitating at first. Thankfully I’m pulling out of them quickly when the Holy Spirit works with me. Never the less it’s disheartening how much deception is all around. Resting in Jesus, His death, burial, and resurrection. Thank you Jesus!!! 🙏

The ascension gifts of Christ to the Church (apostles as well as evangelists and teachers) have been given, "...For the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ" (Eph.4:12-13). The Body of Christ is still being equipped, edified, unified, perfected and growing into Christlikeness.
Let me add if I must, yes, we are still being built up BECAUSE now we have the Old and New Testament, the Cross, the gift of the Holy Ghost AND Technology. Simple question, did the Apostles have the full Bible? No. They were literally living it SO we can have it. Do you know the full Bible? I agree that there are no apostles today. But about the miracles side of it I'm not sure I agree. Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever. And the same spirit is within us as it was in Jesus and Paul and the other apostles.
There are two kinds of apostle - the 13 Apostles and ordinary apostles (emissaries or messengers). The first kind is clearly not around today. The second is still around today. Plus, the function of the gifts was not only to authenticate the 13 Apostles. Paul is clear in 1 Corinthians 12 and 14 that ordinary believers can and do possess them. There is no indication that this suddenly ceased at the end of the first century when the foundation of the church had been laid.
And if the original apostles were THE foundation and no other foundation was necessary, why was Paul, Barnabas, Apollos, and James identified in the Bible apostles? And why did Paul say he laid a foundation years after the first apostles supposedly laid the one and only foundation? That's being misunderstood. From what I know at present that is not possible without a violation of The Will of The LORD GOD. All this is said subject to the responsibility of every person to test the spirit of the person communicating - 1John 4:1. We should ask people who claim to be apostles or prophets how they were called. Test my spirit with the following which I say with The LORD GOD as My Witness. Close to 25 years ago, The LORD GOD called me to be a prophet to the nations and He confirmed that soon after by two people who did not know anything about what I knew. They said in my native tongue that I was called like Deborah. Later on others confirmed that call as well. I now live in the US and more recently a Jewish woman in a mall in Maryland called me Devorah (the Hebrew version of Deborah). I am an intercessor and I pray much in Tongues which is much more after the war in Ukraine. In the Book of Colossians (the Amplified version AMP in Biblegateway), Paul says that he was PERSONALLY called. Thanks Costi, I will also add this 1 Corinthians 15:8, Paul qualifies himself as the last one, to have seen the risem Lord in bodily form. Thus even if you say Jesus came to you and supposedly says you're an apostle, you cannot be an Apostle because according to 1 Corinthians 15:8 Paul qualifies himself as the last one eligible to be an Apostle. Thus I would believe the God inspired words of Paul over anyone's esoteric dream where, supposedly, God told them they're to be an Apostle.
In 1st Corinthians Chapter 15:5-8, Paul is speaking in chronological order regarding who he knew had seen Jesus after He was raised from the dead. He clearly is not stating he is the last to ever see the Lord, but he is the last he knew of at the present time. Paul regularly writes little tidbits throughout his letters warning people not to think highly of him regardless of how esteemed he appears at times. His letters are included in our Bibles as a blueprint for living, yet they are laced with a lot of his personal musings, for example, 1st Corinthians 7:12. In this verse, he literally begins, I not the Lord say... If a follower of Christ told me today they were visited in a dream by Jesus Himself who told them they were chosen to be an apostle... Ananias immediately comes to mind. I would be humbled because God annoints the most unexpected people to do His will. News like this merits a time for prayer and thanksgiving no matter the outcome. Jesus is LORD!
It's crazy that you're basically saying the same thing that's in the official Assemblies of God position paper on this topic, yet within the Assemblies, we have pastors calling themselves apostles, bringing in "apostles", having "prophets" on staff... *sigh*
My mom has been going to a church where the pastor calls himself an Apostle and has a very large, luxurious lucrative church. He had an affair with a Church singer and had a child with her and did he continue to call himself an Apostle? He sure does and he never revealed his sin publicly and only confessed to the elders and deacons when he was asked to disapprove the lies with a DNA test but since it was true he had to come clean. I wish my mom would leave this church.
I totally agree with everything the scripture says, I was watching a video that says there is upper case apostle and lower case apostles but I don’t agree with that because the Bible doesn’t mention it
One question: Has the church been PERFECTED? If not, the 5-fold ministry gifts are still at work. Very good break down and understanding Its simple there's no more apostles today. The 12 apostles that were ordained by god had the power of Jesus Christ, and they simply were to just lay the foundation of the church and signs and wonders followed them, whitch apostle today has signs and wonders following them, for eg raising the dead making the lame walk making the blind see by just laying hands or and calling on the name of Jesus christ. Joshua says my people perish because of lack of knowledge. Think it not strange that satan himself transform as an angel of light. St. John 8:32 says you shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free.
The crazy thing about these new “apostles” is the fact that 11 of the 12 died as martyrs. Only John died as an old man. The self proclaimed ones get glory and loyalty from their followers. I knew a few personally back in my day…shameful frauds is what they are. I see people who believe them will die for them and will defend their lies. Is the Church still alive today? Yes, of course. So, of course there are still apostles today too. Apostles means "messenger" or "one sent forth." How many apostles do we have today that have been "sent forth" to produce converts throughout the world and establish Christian strongholds, even in third world countries? They may be nameless and unfamiliar but they STILL carry the office of apostle. The New Testament shows us that there were several other apostles besides the twelve. Among them are Paul & Barnabus (Acts 14:1 4), Silas & Timothy (1 Th 1: 1; 2: 6, 7), Andronicus & Junias (Rom 16:7), Epaphroditus (Ph 2: 25), Apollos (1 Cor 4: 6-10), James the Just, brother of Jesus (1 Cor 15: 7, Gal 1: 19). Now let's go to 1 Cor 12, Paul describes the offices and gifts of the Church. In Vs 18, Paul tells us about how God places everyone in the Church as it pleases Him. Then he goes on to say: "And GOD HATH SET SOME IN THE CHURCH (NOTICE, this is ongoing!), first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues." 1Co 12: 28 KJV Then notice in verse 29, Paul says: "Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles?" 1Co 12: 29 KJV Notice Paul's question: "Are all apostles?" He couldn't ask that question if there were no more apostles being added to the Body of Christ! That would be redundant. The offices are ongoing. Additionally, nowhere in Scripture does it say that the Club for Apostles is closed.
I don’t believe there is, in fact Jesus himself told us not to be deceived and follow them. We have enough of fighting sin; no need to follow a false teacher or false prophet.
If the ministry of an apostle ceased, that means the ministry of bishops, elders, and deacons have ceased. Ordination authority was never delegated to bishops, elders, or deacons. According to what you are saying, any man that ordains to a bishop, elder, or deacon is claiming to be an apostle. So either there are suppose to be apostles today that have ordination authority or there are no apostles today and no one has ordination authority.
Here's a teaching that Biblically addresses 2 of the 3 misunderstood reasons there supposedly are no more apostles today. As far as the 3rd reasons, no more signs and wonders, God is indeed still working miracles, signs, and wonders through people. When we consider the reasons God did so to begin with (to confirm the Word and help convince people) why wouldn’t He still work miracles (including supernatural healing), signs, and wonders? But for some of the ppl i know claiming to be apostles, claim they've met Messiah in person, and also able to heal the sick and resurrect the dead, if these were proven true, will that make them apostles???
Great Video. Very articulate and well presented. Except just like all of the others who are teaching against Apostles. You're wrong! It's dangerous for people who don't understand an office to teach against it. Oh and by the way, just because we don't see things being done openly doesn't mean they aren't being done. There's not a single scripture in the New Testament of either Jesus or any Apostle stating that any office came to an end. Whenever I ask a teacher, Bishop, Pastor or anyone to prove scripturally that the office of the Apostle came to a close, not a single one has been able to do it. So, all you all are doing is formulating an opinion and teachings based off of your own interpretation of Scripture and your own understanding, which is what the Bible tells us "not" to do. Sometimes people just don't use common sense. If there are no more Apostles then you exclude Jesus because Paul says he's also our Apostle. Jesus is also a part of the foundation. I'm sorry I dont see it that way 1. FOUNDATION: Apostles and prophets are foundation. If we still have prophets, why can't we have apostles? Sign and wonders: Mark 16:17-18 states that this signs will follow those who believe. which means not Apostle only. Eg. Philip one of the seven (not an Apostle) performed miracles. Very truly I tell you, WHOEVER ( Not aposltes only) believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. john14:12 3. Eyewitness: We can both agree that Paul didn't meet the requirement stated in Act 1:21-22 for Judas replacement. He is not the author of confusion but of peace and order. I can't do the people blowing on mics and pushing people down, let God's power work He doesn't need our help. I do long to see God's miracles and wonders manifest clean and crisp like the word shares. We don't need those miracles when Jesus comes back, there is no point then, just to enjoy what Jesus won on the cross. Respectfully, I disagree. The Apostles were not the foundation of the Church. Jesus is. The church is His body. We are still commanded to build on the foundation He laid just like the original Apostolic church. The ministry of Jesus Christ continues through us by the Holy Spirit. We are to do the things He did. Drive out demons, lay hands on the sick and pray in the Spirit (tongues.) Where in scripture does it say the gifts of the Spirit were only for those who spent time physically with Jesus personally to get the church up and running? You list signs and miracles as the reason. That doesn't prove anything. I disagree with your perspective on Acts 1:21-22. Eye witness testimony was important to verify the physical resurrection of Jesus, NOT to confirm the cessation of the gifts concerning the Sprit! Again your perspective is of the flesh! "Apostles did impossible signs and wonders" Again this assertion is based on a false premise. The Apostles didn't DO anything. Jesus Christ did those signs and wonders THROUGH them. Apostles, modern or otherwise, can do nothing apart from abiding in the True Vine and childlike faith and Godly compassion for the lost and sick. Your view on being the dead church is not backed up by scripture, and is pretty terrible. The bible over and over again confirms the dwelling power of the Holy Spirit by the way we live.

Who cares that the church didn't call them Apostles, that isn't the point. The point is the power of God that they had is still available to us today. They had the same power that Jesus did, the difference is He had to die on the cross living sinless in order for the Apostles to receive it so His ministry, the ministry of Jesus Christ, could continue through them. We have the same Holy Spirit that they had, literally. It hinges on your faith in love, that's it. If you don't believe, you will not see or believe. This principal is perfectly consistent every healer there is/was from Sam Wigglesworth to John G Lake. 100's of thousands healed based on Biblical principal and verified with secular based evidence and you're trying to bring me down to your level of unbelief because you haven't experienced or seen it personally... I'm sorry that doesn't jive with your religious perspective on what the Bible is saying, but just because you haven't experienced miracles, tongues, healings and legitimate Biblical movements of the Holy Spirit that do nothing but glorify Jesus Christ and save souls doesn't invalidate the fact that it's common in many places where the Gospel is actually challenged like China, Africa, South America etc. I perceive either conviction or offense in your response. Sorry to say that the self appointed apostles of today do not even have the accurate credentials that can be confirmed by witnesses. Even the miracles you claim are miniature compared to the authority which God gave them to confirm their ministry.
Right on Bro. Costi....BUT ... these requirements only held to the 12 and Paul. There were other Apostles as well. James, the half brother of Jesus and leader of the Jerusalem church-Galatians 1:19 Barnabas-Acts 14:14 Apollos- Corinthians 4:6-9, Timothy and Silvanus- I Thessalonians 1:1 and 2:6. Most of them did not see Christ physically, nor were taught by Christ, and most never performed a miracle. Though I do not believe in Apostolic succession , and I believe the era of the 12, and Paul being the foundation of the church, there is some argument that the word or position of a "Sent One" an Apostle may mark what the early church called missionaries. Also maybe you can help me with one verse on this, because I am still up in the air on some of this, and that is Ephesians 4:11-13 where he tells us he gave us Apostles..... till we all come in the unity of faith. @rom8v1 Yes there are the 12 original apostles. Those 12 apostles can never be added to. They will be the future judges of Israel. There are eight more apostles found in the New Testament. This is remembering that the word parcel just simply means sent one. One of them is special that is Paul an apostle out of due season who is to the Gentiles just like the 12 war two the Jews. And the others were missionaries. That is what a modern day missionary is, an Apostle, a sent one. Today we call the missionaries and not apostles so that people do not acquainted with apostolic succession.

That is not evidence - they're discussing in that moment what to do, not making an assertion for all of time. You call the signs and wonders impossible. With God, nothing is impossible. Do you put your trust in your own doctrines of men or in God Himself who has the power to decide, act and do. This argument you make is a shame.
2 years ago I was saved by Jesus. Having walked out of full blown spiritual warfare to only find its going on within the churches, online preaching etc.
Every which way I turn there is deception and it was exhausting and debilitating at first.
Thankfully I’m pulling out of them quickly when the Holy Spirit works with me. Never the less it’s disheartening how much deception is all around.

The ascension gifts of Christ to the Church (apostles as well as evangelists and teachers) have been given, "...For the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ" (Eph.4:12-13). The Body of Christ is still being equipped, edified, unified, perfected and growing into Christlikeness.
Let me add if I must, yes, we are still being built up BECAUSE now we have the Old and New Testament, the Cross, the gift of the Holy Ghost AND Technology. Simple question, did the Apostles have the full Bible? No. They were literally living it SO we can have it. Do you know the full Bible? There are two kinds of apostle - the 13 Apostles and ordinary apostles (emissaries or messengers).
The first kind is clearly not around today. The second is still around today.
Plus, the function of the gifts was not only to authenticate the 13 Apostles. Paul is clear in 1 Corinthians 12 and 14 that ordinary believers can and do possess them. There is no indication that this suddenly ceased at the end of the first century when the foundation of the church had been laid.
And if the original apostles were THE foundation and no other foundation was necessary, why was Paul, Barnabas, Apollos, and James identified in the Bible apostles?
And why did Paul say he laid a foundation years after the first apostles supposedly laid the one and only foundation? That's being misunderstood.

Thanks Costi, I will also add this 1 Corinthians 15:8, Paul qualifies himself as the last one, to have seen the risem Lord in bodily form. Thus even if you say Jesus came to you and supposedly says you're an apostle, you cannot be an Apostle because according to 1 Corinthians 15:8 Paul qualifies himself as the last one eligible to be an Apostle. Thus I would believe the God inspired words of Paul over anyone's esoteric dream where, supposedly, God told them they're to be an Apostle.

In 1st Corinthians Chapter 15:5-8, Paul is speaking in chronological order regarding who he knew had seen Jesus after He was raised from the dead. He clearly is not stating he is the last to ever see the Lord, but he is the last he knew of at the present time.
Paul regularly writes little tidbits throughout his letters warning people not to think highly of him regardless of how esteemed he appears at times. His letters are included in our Bibles as a blueprint for living, yet they are laced with a lot of his personal musings, for example, 1st Corinthians 7:12. In this verse, he literally begins, I not the Lord say...
If a follower of Christ told me today they were visited in a dream by Jesus Himself who told them they were chosen to be an apostle... Ananias immediately comes to mind. I would be humbled because God annoints the most unexpected people to do His will. News like this merits a time for prayer and thanksgiving no matter the outcome.

My mom has been going to a church where the pastor calls himself an Apostle and has a very large, luxurious lucrative church. He had an affair with a Church singer and had a child with her and did he continue to call himself an Apostle? He sure does and he never revealed his sin publicly and only confessed to the elders and deacons when he was asked to disapprove the lies with a DNA test but since it was true he had to come clean. I wish my mom would leave this church.

So until there is a Unity of the Faith, there are still Apostles, called by God and set in this earth.

Its simple there's no more apostles today. The 12 apostles that were ordained by god had the power of Jesus Christ, and they simply were to just lay the foundation of the church and signs and wonders followed them, whitch apostle today has signs and wonders following them, for eg raising the dead making the lame walk making the blind see by just laying hands or and calling on the name of Jesus christ. Joshua says my people perish because of lack of knowledge. Think it not strange that satan himself transform as an angel of light. St. John 8:32 says you shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free.
The crazy thing about these new “apostles” is the fact that 11 of the 12 died as martyrs. Only John died as an old man. The self proclaimed ones get glory and loyalty from their followers. I knew a few personally back in my day…shameful frauds is what they are. I see people who believe them will die for them and will defend their lies. So sad but if you want to be fed lies you have free will so enjoy it, I guess.

Is the Church still alive today? Yes, of course. So, of course there are still apostles today too. Apostles means "messenger" or "one sent forth." How many apostles do we have today that have been "sent forth" to produce converts throughout the world and establish Christian strongholds, even in third world countries? They may be nameless and unfamiliar but they STILL carry the office of apostle.
The New Testament shows us that there were several other apostles besides the twelve. Among them are Paul & Barnabus (Acts 14:1 4), Silas & Timothy (1 Th 1: 1; 2: 6, 7), Andronicus & Junias (Rom 16:7), Epaphroditus (Ph 2: 25), Apollos (1 Cor 4: 6-10), James the Just, brother of Jesus (1 Cor 15: 7, Gal 1: 19).
Now let's go to 1 Cor 12, Paul describes the offices and gifts of the Church.
In Vs 18, Paul tells us about how God places everyone in the Church as it pleases Him. Then he goes on to say:
"And GOD HATH SET SOME IN THE CHURCH (NOTICE, this is ongoing!), first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues." 1Co 12: 28 KJV
Then notice in verse 29, Paul says: "Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles?" 1Co 12: 29 KJV
Notice Paul's question: "Are all apostles?" He couldn't ask that question if there were no more apostles being added to the Body of Christ! That would be redundant. The offices are ongoing.
Additionally, nowhere in Scripture does it say that the Club for Apostles is closed.
Revelation 21:14 And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them were the twelve names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.
I don’t believe there is, in fact Jesus himself told us not to be deceived and follow them. We have enough of fighting sin; no need to follow a false teacher or false prophet.

If the ministry of an apostle ceased, that means the ministry of bishops, elders, and deacons have ceased. Ordination authority was never delegated to bishops, elders, or deacons. According to what you are saying, any man that ordains to a bishop, elder, or deacon is claiming to be an apostle. So either there are suppose to be apostles today that have ordination authority or there are no apostles today and no one has ordination authority.

Here's a teaching that Biblically addresses 2 of the 3 misunderstood reasons there supposedly are no more apostles today.
As far as the 3rd reasons, no more signs and wonders, God is indeed still working miracles, signs, and wonders through people.
When we consider the reasons God did so to begin with (to confirm the Word and help convince people) why wouldn’t He still work miracles (including supernatural healing), signs, and wonders?
His power hasn't diminished so why wouldn't He continue to use it in the same way He used it during early NT since we are still living in those times? It just stands to reason that He would.
Some people don't believe that because they're not a part of ministries where that power is present, for whatever reason.

It's dangerous for people who don't understand an office to teach against it. Oh and by the way, just because we don't see things being done openly doesn't mean they aren't being done.
There's not a single scripture in the New Testament of either Jesus or any Apostle stating that any office came to an end. Whenever I ask a teacher, Bishop, Pastor or anyone to prove scripturally that the office of the Apostle came to a close, not a single one has been able to do it.
So, all you all are doing is formulating an opinion and teachings based off of your own interpretation of Scripture and your own understanding, which is what the Bible tells us "not" to do.

1. FOUNDATION: Apostles and prophets are foundation. If we still have prophets, why can't we have apostles?

2. Sign and wonders: Mark 16:17-18 states that this signs will follow those who believe. which means not Apostle only. Eg. Philip one of the seven (not an Apostle) performed miracles.

Paul was an apostle and he didn't know Jesus during his ministry.
Respectfully, I disagree. The Apostles were not the foundation of the Church. Jesus is. The church is His body. We are still commanded to build on the foundation He laid just like the original Apostolic church. The ministry of Jesus Christ continues through us by the Holy Spirit. We are to do the things He did. Drive out demons, lay hands on the sick and pray in the Spirit (tongues.) Where in scripture does it say the gifts of the Spirit were only for those who spent time physically with Jesus personally to get the church up and running? You list signs and miracles as the reason. I disagree with your perspective on Acts 1:21-22. Eye witness testimony was important to verify the physical resurrection of Jesus, NOT to confirm the cessation of the gifts concerning the Sprit! Again your perspective is of the flesh!

Again apostolic authority, Jesus affirmed it, He did not affirm anyone else. Even a few decades in church history, no one claimed to be an apostle, anyone that supported bible canonicity anyways.

@@david8252 I don't see the part that even suggests apostles are given special authority. It doesn't say that at all. Are we really going to get caught up in titles? Who cares that the church didn't call them Apostles, that isn't the point. The point is the power of God that they had is still available to us today. They had the same power that Jesus did, the difference is He had to die on the cross living sinless in order for the Apostles to receive it so His ministry, the ministry of Jesus Christ, could continue through them. We have the same Holy Spirit that they had, literally. It hinges on your faith in love, that's it. If you don't believe, you will not see or believe.

The point of this passage in this context is they could not deliver the boy because of their lack of faith. This principal is perfectly consistent every healer there is/was from Sam Wigglesworth to John G Lake. 100's of thousands healed based on Biblical principal and verified with secular based evidence and you're trying to bring me down to your level of unbelief because you haven't experienced or seen it personally...
I'm sorry that doesn't jive with your religious perspective on what the Bible is saying, but just because you haven't experienced miracles, tongues, healings and legitimate Biblical movements of the Holy Spirit that do nothing but glorify Jesus Christ and save souls doesn't invalidate the fact that it's common in many places where the Gospel is actually challenged like China, Africa, South America etc. I perceive either conviction or offense in your response. Sorry to say that the self appointed apostles of today do not even have the accurate credentials that can be confirmed by witnesses. Even the miracles you claim are miniature compared to the authority which God gave them to confirm their ministry.

Right on Bro. Costi....BUT ... these requirements only held to the 12 and Paul. There were other Apostles as well. James, the half brother of Jesus and leader of the Jerusalem church-Galatians 1:19 Barnabas-Acts 14:14 Apollos- Corinthians 4:6-9, Timothy and Silvanus- I Thessalonians 1:1 and 2:6. Most of them did not see Christ physically, nor were taught by Christ, and most never performed a miracle. Though I do not believe in Apostolic succession , and I believe the era of the 12, and Paul being the foundation of the church, there is some argument that the word or position of a "Sent One" an Apostle may mark what the early church called missionaries. Also maybe you can help me with one verse on this, because I am still up in the air on some of this, and that is Ephesians 4:11-13 where he tells us he gave us Apostles..... till we all come in the unity of faith. @rom8v1 Yes there are the 12 original apostles. Those 12 apostles can never be added to. They will be the future judges of Israel. There are eight more apostles found in the New Testament. This is remembering that the word parcel just simply means sent one. One of them is special that is Paul an apostle out of due season who is to the Gentiles just like the 12 war two the Jews. And the others were missionaries. That is what a modern day missionary is, an Apostle, a sent one. Today we call the missionaries and not apostles so that people do not acquainted with apostolic succession.
