The Style of Our Worship | Costi Hinn & Sovereign Grace Music | EP 212
Переглядів 3,1 тис.9 годин тому
Should a church turn the lights down, unleash the fog machine, and laser light the stage to help people have a more engaging worship experience? Does it matter if a worship service is presented in a trendy way? If creativity is a gift from God, should we limit how much we innovate when it comes to music and stylistic elements in a service? Does the Bible have principles we can use to govern the...

Theology In Our Music | Costi Hinn & Sovereign Grace Music | EP 211

It was John Piper who once said, "A congregation learns its theology by the songs they sing, not just by the preaching they hear.” Doctrine matters in our music, and it’s vital that churches and leaders think through more than just the sound of music, and ensure that the content of the music is biblically accurate. In this episode, Sovereign Grace Music leaders Bob Kauflin, Devon Kauflin, and D...

The Expression of Our Worship | Costi Hinn & Sovereign Grace Music | EP 210
Переглядів 9 тис.14 днів тому
Expression in worship can often be relegated to the extremes of “emotionalism” or “stoicism.” Some argue that raising our hands in a worship service is nothing more than charismatic disorder, while others insist that if you don’t cry or shout during worship you’ve not entered the holy of holies. In part 1 of this series on worship, Bob Kauflin, Devon Kauflin, and David Zimmer of Sovereign Grace...

Amen my brother.Don't let these pagan dressed up in modern day fig leaves slence you.
Joe Heschmeyer responds to Mike Gendron’s recent appearance on Allie Beth Stuckey’s podcast “Relatable,” addressing his numerous lies about the Roman Catholic Church.
Thank you ❤
I alslo live in Zambia and my parents have being duped into believing the false prosperity gospel abd they are also part of the hyper charismatic movement
The idea of getting tattoos comes from the world. It is carnal. It has not spiritual value. You do not need to spread the gospel with markings on your body. There is a reason why gangs and the occult get tattoos. So why as a spirit filled believer do you want to emulate their practices.
I hate existential crises
"Tongues" was invented by a preacher that forgot part of his sermon.
Nope. I want God's temple available for when God gives me His seal. I don't want there be no mistaking to whom I belong.
I had to fight to keep listening through that seriously annoying background noise.
Unknown tongues only mention in the Bible when there is people from different nations gather together, if it was one nation it will say the tongue of Hebrew or Greek. The Bible never talk about spiritual tongue. My girlfriend broke up with me just because I’m against speaking in their tongues, I wish people would realize that the message was to the Corinth church, Corinth was a city with many nations just like in the day of Pentecost
When one of our pastor’s grown sons got saved, he had a skin graft operation to remove a marijuana tattoo that was on his arm.
Tongues as used by the modern Charismatic Church is a Demonic Fraud and Scam. Period.
Thank you!
Jesus said he would be with us until the end of time, the eucharist is truly Jesus with us. I pray for protestants to return to Jesus
Love to hear the thought and intention SGM has in their song writing. We sing their songs every Sunday! Zimmer is a wonderful brother and old friend. Thank you for the edifying discussion!

The voice of reason
I have 3. I’m also a pastor. The Bible never ever says it is wrong. It is A moral. It is not right or wrong. It depends on what you get
Tattoos are a sin, no matter how much one can justify it, no matter what the marking is. Something is either a sin or not, there's no in between. You are right when you say the word says we should not mark our bodies, and remember God's word does not change because you want to tattoo your body and put a cross. what you are saying is more like, yes lying is a sin, but if it's a lie that can save a life then it's not a sin or yes lying is a sin but 'white lies' are not so much a sin because they are harmless and with no bad intensions, therefore they are not sin... sin is sin, disobedience is disobedience. please let us remember there is no conditions sin, is it either a sin or not, you are either cold or hot, either obedience or not.
More than one cult teaches that tattoos are a sin, which makes me want to get one.....
So your god let Auschwitz function...but wasn't comfortable with the prisoners having numbers tattooed on their arms. Not the gas chambers; the tattoos.
You are bringing exactly what was not really taught. Im not a cessationist but i long noticed that these repeatative syllables in tongues normally from charismatic are questionable. I don't want to alter scripture because of lack of experience and neither do i wanna alter scripture because i want to keep my experience even if it may not comply with the Bible
Mr Gendron you are in error and clearly lack knowledge of the roman catholic faith As others have said we would never assert that Christs sacrifice is insufficient.
Why do you go to confession for forgiveness of sin?
@casey8726 to confess them before God. The priest is a mediator
@@dominicschoenheit8093 So you don't trust Jesus to forgive your sins? You need a mediator?. That is saying that Christ's sacrifice is insufficient.
@@dominicschoenheit8093 Who is in error and clearly lacks knowledge?
@casey8726 Not it's not, Christ does the forgiving not a priest. The priest is in the persona cristi or a stand in for Christ. This does not detract from Jesus Christ, we believe only our Lord can forgive sins
Can't to tell you but the Protestant Church is just a lighter version of the mother church. You still teach most of the same doctrine and you still practice the same religious observances which are based on paganism not the Bible
How are you getting to Heaven?
@casey8726 That's the thing even the concept of heaven is umbiblical. The Bible says that when we die we go to sleep until we are raised unto judgment and if our name is in the book of life we receive eternal life and live with Christ in the New Jerusalem the new earthly Kingdom that Christ will behead of forever and ever. we don't go to heaven when we die. Also it is mentioned in the book of Isaiah and other prophetic books of the kingdom become that all nations will gather on the sabbaths in the New Jerusalem that God will established not the Christian pagan Christmas and Easter. I mean it's a lot to talk about and this isn't the greatest platform but look up the origins of Easter and Christmas and how those were pagan holidays that were christianized by the Catholic Church. Bring the Bible back to Torah
@@lukesnyder5831 No, Heaven is not unbiblical. You are mistaken. Jesus talks about Heaven, himself. You are mistaken. How are you getting to Heaven?
@@casey8726 it's the word used I'm sure but Jesus is talking about the kingdom to come
@@lukesnyder5831 I'm sure you are mistaken.
A question to ask myself: can I afford to get a tattoo? Pay my bills, feed my kids, pay my rent or mortgage, put gas in my car, etc etc.
I hate tattoos, but know some great Christian ministers that have them, all related to their faith. I will not condemn them, and neither will God. Our salvation only depends on Jesus finished work. Too many of you are so super spiritual and quick to condemn. Listen to what Costi Hinn said! He had a great thoughtful and gracious answer! Go back and relisten to him.
Thank you guys! Appreciate it. Especially for people who want to join a church that holds on to their culture and traditions for dear life instead of God's Word.
One of the things I don't see mentioned in the comments is what kind of place do you go to get a tattoo? Imo tattoo parlors are worldly, with who knows what ungodly environment and pics on the wall or tattoo ideas to choose from. I understand those who have them before becoming a believer, but when i see someone with one, i automatically think of the world without even actually fully seeing if it's a godly image or not. The Bible speaks a lot of being clean and pure and it makes someone look unclean or dirty. I also agree that its permanent and we all have different seasons in life. Sanctification is an ongoing process. Things I felt at liberty to do in earlier seasons in my christian life are no longer things I feel at liberty to partake of now. Imo it's a much wiser decision to not get one due to not being able to go back. The scarring is always there. But there is much grace for those who did it unknowingly.
The place I have been to looks like a clean white dental office (very professional) not a dungeon lol with fire lamps on the walls as you descend down the steps.
If Christians get tattoos, it’s because they like to be worldly they like to look like this world they love it. they make a cross tattoo and they think they are holy. They love Halloween, but they feel guilty because they know it’s evil so they call the reformation day, can you believe this?
No
Love this! I have a cross with love and want a Jesus one too for gospel conversations. Thank you for the research!
This chat has more sense than the video. 😂😅🤣😅 🙏🏼🕊️💙♥️🕊️🙏🏼
There is something very healing and cathartic about a meaningful tattoo, I don’t expect more than half of you to understand. It’s not for everyone.
I am not saying they are sinful or trying to make a rule where there isn't one, but even from a maturity and wisdom standpoint I think a valid question to ask is why do you want the tattoo, and to really give an honest answer from the surface to the root. It is usually because you think they look cool, it makes you look more like the person or group you wish you were more like which is usually a sinful, vain, pride thing, or the answer comes across as an attempt to justify doing it, which is interesting as it shows the nature of the position, and usually there isn't an actual reason. It's usually to communicate something about a personality, to come across to someone else to give them the impression you are a certain way. Sometimes a believer will have a reason along the lines of it being a conversation starter for the Gospel. Ok, but can you do that right now and are not, just like the person who wants to go on a mission to share the Gospel but doesn't where they are right now? Further, to ask if there has ever been something you wanted that you later got tired of or no longer wanted or changed your mind about. Tattoos are permanent (sure, there is tattoo removal, but that is also expensive, can be unsuccessful or doesn't actually remove all trace, and like the tattoo is damaging to the skin) and they have their root in pagan identification (i assume based on the history i understand). So what is the good reason? I'm not saying there isn't a good reason, and i dont know if there even needs to be, but shouldn't there be? I think it should fall down to whose glory are you seeking by getting one. Are we stewarding what we've been given wisely? And i think we should ask ourselves the same questions for all things we do/buy, including what we wear, our haircut, our jewelry (including watches (ouch me)), cars, etc. What witness are we giving by doing/wearing/buying/showing it? Unlike those other things where you can stop wearing it, sell it, whatever, you cannot just stop wearing your tattoo. And unlike those other things that are universally necessary/helpful, a tattoo is not, it is a statement, an aesthetic body modification, a customization, a billboard. Will I think any different about a brother or sister with one or who wants one? I hope not and it would be sin if I did.

This man is a false witness and a charlatan.
Contra tattoos see John 3:30 - we don’t call attention to ourselves, especially not our appearance
The action of tattoos is clearly not holy but rather worldly. The reason there is even a question tells you it’s not wise. This is the fault of the western culture we’re focused on rights instead of the right thing to do. The practice of rationalizing those behavior isn’t strengthening our culture. It a word, it’s of the World. Romans 12:2
If you spank a child you are an abuser😡😡. Shame on you🤬
Don't you know your body is the temple of God? Any markings on your body is a direct de-facing of God's temple. Go learn about the temple of God in Jerusalem. What would you think if someone graffiti painted on one of the temple buildings, like, a cross and some fancy roses??? You people suck. You don't know scripture, so you can't answer anything properly.
You gotta admit, the For The Gospel logo is pretty sweet
Love it. Very well articulated, Costi. Bless you, brother.
Do the next thing.
I got 3 tattoos before giving my life to God. None are vulgar. My second one is a rose on my chest with my sisters name and Bday and death date in the stem. Her middle name is Rose. The third is a small heart design on my foot. But the first I got makes me wonder if it’s bad. It’s the Celtic knot of motherhood with my kids name.
I love how Bob Kauflin's response is to turn first to Scripture. A model to follow.
Does the Holy Spirit lead you to get a tattoo? Our liberty is to love others and serve others? It says not to use our liberty for our flesh. I don't see the thought process of feeling like God would lead you to get a tattoo.
It could be to cover shameful tattoos…
I went to a SG church in PA. It is a shame they have such an incredible music program yet sing some suspect songs in their services. I wish they'd stick to just Sovereign Grace songs, the psalms, and classic true hymns.
In what way could a tattoo bring honor and glory to our God if we're called image barrers of God. Why change what God has created in his image? Why wouldn't He have created your body in a more God honoring way from the get go? Buy a Bible if you care about scripture on your skin, I can't see how anyone would be able to justify his of her tattoo with scripture. If you want people to see you're a godly person, let them know by your fruits, by your good deeds or just by your preaching of Christ.
