Pssst [whisper] thats just a timing based puzzle. You just gotta gauge the delay between button press and when it stops. Ashley is irrelevant and will always get the arrow in the red.
I would have put the sliding tablet puzzle from RE4 in there over the Church puzzle. Hell, even the puzzle BEHIND the church is harder than the one inside it.
Surprised that the Electronic Lock puzzles from RE4 Remake aren't here, the ones found in the Regenerator labs and Waste Disposal room. Those really cranked up the difficulty specially on Professional
RE4 Catseye Insignia puzzle is the hardest as the game just expects you to know that the solution is 3,3,3,4,4,4,3, either i'm just dumb or the game never tells you the solution to it. also I'm not ashamed to admit RE4 Stained glass puzzle had me scratching my head for about 30 mins the first time i played the game, the clocktower had me for about 20 mins trying to figure out what was blocking me from continuing the game. RE2R herbicide was such a nightmare that after 10 minutes I just pulled up a guide to explain it to me, the chess puzzle is something else due to the numerous factors that effect it.
Man the puzzle that you have to do as Ashley in RE4 in the knight room is pretty crazy. I’ve done it before with no guides or anything, just moving the pieces around but the last few times of replaying the game I can’t figure it out without having to search up how to solve it. It can be insanely difficult
My top 10: 1. Resident Evil: Outbreak - The European Map in the Hellfire scenario 2.Resident Evil 0 - The predator statue order 3. Resident Evil: Code - Veronica - Cannonball puzzle. Yes, it’s a puzzle because it kept killing me and I didn’t know the trick of have a guide back then. 4. Code - Veronica: The master portrait puzzle. 5. Code - Veronica: The oil puzzle 6. Resident Evil: Outbreak - The cuckoo clock puzzle in the Decisions, Decisions scenario 7. Resident Evil 2 (2019) - The sewer plug puzzle on Scenario 2 8. Resident Evil: Nemesis - The water puzzle I can’t think of anything else. But actually hard puzzles are the fucking piano puzzle in Silent Hill, the plaque puzzle in Silent Hill, the clock puzzle in Silent Hill 2, and the pipe puzzle in Dino Crisis haha. Those were just… * chefs kiss *
I NEVER had a problem with the water drain puzzle in RE3. I always managed to solve it myself, without any guides no less. Honestly, I would say the only RE puzzle that still gives me trouble even to this day is the gem stone behind the church in RE4 original. EDIT: Oh, and the statues in RE0. Forgot about that.
Church puzzle isn't too tricky if you know the timing of the spaces. However I do agree the animal puzzle in 0 took me a few tries to figure out the right order so I'll definitely agree with that being tricky.
Nah!. The water sample puzzle was the hardest... played the game In 2003. I was 13 years old then and had no idea how to solve it. It was so frustrating that I shelved the game for about 1 full year until I met a guy in its early/mid 20s who was able to solve it for me (he tried for about 40 minutes). Thanks to him, I was able to beat the game. That same week I was finally able to solve it by myself. Ive managed to solve both; the synthesizer and the clock puzzle by trial and error in no more than 10 minutes each.
This list could have seriously been all CVX puzzles lol so many puzzles in that game, no singular puzzle made everyone quit at the same time, as much as the compilation of them all has made everyone quit.
The hardest ones for me was the temperature control which you need to make the special acid that is needed to remove the gold eagle key from the stone shield key in order for Chris to fly the jet and the dice puzzle which both are in Code Veronica.
Will always hate the Water Puzzle from OG3. Despise it forever! My second most difficult is the Illuminados church light in OG4 for Ada because it is upside down. Always screws with my brain, lol.
What makes the OG RE3 puzzles more difficult is the randomness of the game. No set resolution. With that being said, the Clock Puzzle never gave me any trouble. That water puzzle though 😬
I'd put these 2 puzzles in the Top 10, maybe even Top 5.. Graveyard Puzzle = Resident Evil Revelations 2 (Claire, Chapter 3) Sliding Tablet = Resident Evil 4 (Ashley segment)
I'm sorry, but if you have issues solving the chess plugs in RE2R, you got problems...bc all you need to know is where just one piece goes and the game actually gives you two pieces; the Knight and the King, the note on the bulletin board literally tells you where to place the chess plugs...the only thing you should be complaining about is having to read the note on the bulletin board over and over bc it never stays on the screen long enough to read all the way through lol (the Queen and King maze, I will admit I got confuzzled my first time, but when I figured it out, I felt dumb af, bc it was soo obvious and it was one of the strong reactions where you don't make that same mistake twice) Also the re4 from 2005 church puzzle does not belong on this list at all, bc that was soo incredibly easy to solve, bc you can see the Illuminados logo on all three colors and do you know why?? bc red, blue and green make white. Hell, the church puzzle in re4r was harder bc they combined all three colors in one so it was convoluted af trying to separate the three designs in your head lol The Portrait room in CVX was my favorite puzzle bc you learn soo much about the Ashford lineage tbh, yea this doesn't belong on this video as the hardest puzzle, this was bc capcom being like "hey how can we turn one giant file of info into a logic puzzle" and it was the Portrait puzzle, this one was also easy and fun to solve tbh You are literally matching up the picture with its description in the file, how is that hard?? The red haired man holding twins, go to the portrait of the red haired man holding twins. Hell not only did I have so much fun with that puzzle but I also knew who was who in each portrait lol The oil synthesizer and the water sample puzzles from og re3 were equally the hardest for me and both deserves to be #1, in fact this whole video should just talk about why these puzzle were the hardest in all of re history tbh the church puzzle in og re3 was the second hardest puzzle, like I said just rename the whole video to hardest puzzles in og re3 tbh, bc those puzzles were stupid af and im glad capcom got rid of those puzzles in the remake, bc there was no logic to them, no rhyme or reason just random fuck around with it till you got it and try to remember that stupid randomness through repetition
The sliding block puzzle? Yeah I hate those things. The insult to that one is that it's actually stupidly easy to solve.....if you KNOW what you're doing the moment you start, cause if you slide things the wrong way, congrats, you just made it stupidly hard!
Re outbreak has one of the hardest puzzles in the series so I'm surprised there was no mention of it ( I don't see any info that the list only uses the main games).
For me it’s the hexagon puzzle on re4remake I must have been there for 30 mins on my first play through and even now I’ll just look up the solution rather than guessing it aimlessly
The drug lab puzzle in RE2 remake is very similar to the one in Code Veronica where Chris has to restore oil pressure to the airport bridge to lower it. In RE3, a mega hint in hidden in plain sight in the water sample room. I only found it maybe 15 years after first playing, bc there's no other reason to go into the corner it's in. The clock tower crystal balls puzzle is mathematical. Each orb adds a certain number of hours in the Present tray, while subtracting that same number in the Past tray and adding double that number in the Future tray. Which order of orbs make that add up to 12? Is doing the math actually faster than random guessing? Not always.
#10 (RE4 Church Light) shouldn't be top 10. I'm colorblind and was about 12 when I played RE4 for the first time and I specifically remember being disappointed that the puzzles were so simplified over previous entries as I recall solving it pretty quickly and effortlessly. Other than that, the list is respectable 👍
I truly hate the Food Chain puzzle of RE0, and it isnt because of its difficulty as much as the Spanish translation of the puzzle. The description does not help you link certain animals together at all, leaving you standing clueless trying randoms combinations and every failed attempt makes you restart the entire puzzle.
i'm shocked because there's no power puzzle in this list from re4 remake and i find the church puzzle in the remake harder than the original because the colors are mixed together in the remake unlike the og u can take one shape of each color shape and match it with the drawings
While it's not the hardest by any means. The tablet puzzle in the original res4 is my least favorite one. I never liked those kinds of puzzles, they're just tedious and annoying.
el cuarto puesto es el puzzle más fácil del juego, solo son 3 movimientos y ya, me parece más difícil que ese el de la gasolinera o incluso el de la prueba de agua.
Two points I need to replay it just to make sure I could be remembering wrong, but pretty sure the difficulty doesn't effect the puzzles on re2 remake Two, and pointer, I never played re3 og, but the puzzle in re4 of inside the church is one if the easiest, however the one on the remake is my hardest ever, I had to look that up and even then I had hard time solving it
In my opinion the chess puzzle is not difficult. It did took me a while to work it out of on 2nd run but not difficult. I can see how it's difficult if you don't know or play Chess
Dude, no offence, but the clock tower stone puzzle is not hard. And it is not random or complicated or even particularly difficult to figure out. The three stone have a set value, 1 (crystal), 2 (Obsidian), and 3 (amber). The three clocks have a set multiplier- x-1 (past), x1 (present) and x2 (future). Putting a stone in the respective cradle changes the clock value by.... You guessed it.... The stone's value times the multiplier. Honestly, even without that basic maths understanding, there are only 6 possible combinations. The combination puzzles in RE2 are far harder to brute-force your way to a solution.
Is that death trap in RE: Code Veronica considered a puzzle? Bc if you don't step in the right spot, it's over. It's terrifying and to this day when it's coming up I get anxiety.
What makes the OG RE3 puzzles more difficult is the randomness of the game. No set resolution. With that being said, the Clock Puzzle never gave me any trouble. That water puzzle though 😬
Honourable mention to the sewer switch puzzles in RE4R that continue to defy the laws of gaming physics
Omg its zero love your videos man
Which one?
lol fair point
Zero what are you doing here
Pssst [whisper] thats just a timing based puzzle.
Couldn't agree more. It made me give up and not go back to it for weeks, just made me angry 😂
The sliding block puzzle is actually simple. Move one block (it changes each playthrough) and the others just slide around in order.
We playing the same game? I just did that recently took like 2-3 minutes but not very hard.
Boy I hated that puzzled
Surprised that the Electronic Lock puzzles from RE4 Remake aren't here, the ones found in the Regenerator labs and Waste Disposal room. Those really cranked up the difficulty specially on Professional
They're definitely more tricky to figure out than in the original
indeed. those shits are on par with the greenhouse solution puzzle.
Came here to comment this
I hate it when you have to redo a puzzle because of a tiny mistake
The hardest puzzle to solve by for is working out why Capcom haven't rereleased Outbreak. Or Dino Crisis.

The church puzzle was ridiculously easy in RE4, the slider puzzle you do with Ashley in the castle is significantly more difficult
Man the puzzle that you have to do as Ashley in RE4 in the knight room is pretty crazy. OG 3 gotta have some of the best, Chess Puzzle from the Sewers and Zero's were great!
I NEVER had a problem with the water drain puzzle in RE3. I always managed to solve it myself, without any guides no less. Honestly, I would say the only RE puzzle that still gives me trouble even to this day is the gem stone behind the church in RE4 original.

I never had a problem with the Clock Puzzle from RE4, very straight forward. ☺️👍
Me too.
I did the RE4 church light puzzle on a black and white TV. Looking at the different shapes is the key.
RE Nemeis water synthesizer was the one that drove me insane as a kid. I still hate it years later but doesn't take me nearly as long to solve 😂
The tombstone riddle in Revelations 2 stumped me
Most annoying puzzle for me was in Code Veronica as Chris, that pesky oil pressure puzzle to move the bridge.

You always seemed like you have 500k subs. I’m shocked that you’re on the tens but this channel is one of the most enjoyable of this niche
What makes the OG RE3 puzzles more difficult is the randomness of the game. No set resolution. With that being said, the Clock Puzzle never gave me any trouble. That water puzzle though 😬
I love the water sample. I find it enjoyable to solve
Food chain puzzle was my favorite
Most puzzles of the resident evil franchise I never had too much difficulty with the exception of a few. Water puzzle in re3 original especially.
it's a dark and gloomy day today, perfect for a video on a classic survival horror franchise.

Sliding Tablet = Resident Evil 4 (Ashley segment)
I didn't write it down for resident evil 1 remake I just have good memories
Imo, te church puzzle and the Mendez Door puzzle in RE4R were harder than the Church puzzle in RE4O
I'm sad to say this but the hardest puzzle in all the RE Games I've played has to be the bloodbath area in RE8. I spent a good 30 minutes on that.
They aren't hard, but the wavelength puzzles in RE2 Remake were annoying.
Weren't they like the one in batman Arkham asylum
@@johnlawful2272 They're very similar to the Arkham ones yeah
That game is basic AF.
#1 is easy... Obsidian is volcanic glass, so it's Past. Crystal balls see the future, and that leaves Amber.
The water puzzle is harder to me
The Portrait puzzle in Code Veronica was a little difficult
The RE4 church puzzle was a breeze to me compared to the clock tower music box puzzle. I still hear that stupid tune in my head sometimes 😢
The re 2 remake puzzle is easy about the chess pieces
It's hard on second run
@@CalebS-t2i nope
I agree with number 1. Hate that puzzle, just played through it yesterday.
I will never understand people calling water puzzle from RE3 difficult. I would argue it's one of the easiest ones from this list.

That one puzzle in the Ashley section in RE4 Og is stupidly hard if you don't have it memorized.
The sliding block puzzle? Yeah I hate those things. The insult to that one is that it's actually stupidly easy to solve.....if you KNOW what you're doing the moment you start, cause if you slide things the wrong way, congrats, you just made it stupidly hard!
My dumb teen self with half baked English solved the ashford portrait puzzle after some reading (30 mins plus) so a win for me
Creating V-jolt in REmake is number 1 for me. Surprised it wasn't even in your top 10. I still need a walk through for that lol
Its just simple math
It's secretly an addition math puzzle as you have to combine the combination to reach 20.
That firefly puzzle in re4 where you’re in bc house
Re outbreak has one of the hardest puzzles in the series so I'm surprised there was no mention of it ( I don't see any info that the list only uses the main games).
Cradle to the grave puzzle in R.E. 1 was a little difficult
The water sample is quite easy for musicians
The oil puzzle in resident evil CV is more difficult than the herbicide puzzle.

The church puzzle in 4 was easy. Just line up one spot of each color on the outer edge of the circle
For me it’s always those sliding or rotating puzzles that get me without a guide.
Ps I think that the RE4R church puzzle is harder than the og one.
The drug lab puzzle in RE2 remake is very similar to the one in Code Veronica where Chris has to restore oil pressure to the airport bridge to lower it. Food chain puzzle in Resident 0 was complicated
I fckn hate that Clock Tower puzzle in RE3, deserve number 1
RE0 was def the most difficult RE for me and it has THAT food chain puzzle that i HATE 😭
The puzzle puzzle that Ashley does in the original re4
Clock puzzle is easy Position is - + or ++ and each stone multiply it by 1 2 or 3
