Every Michelle Jordan interview should be LOST! The only interviews that MATTER are the ones Lebron James is in! Lebron is the goat, on and off the court!
Im so happy you were able to find this interview, thanks! I Wish the modern day NBA commissioner, and these new athletes would watch this, take notes, and apply! 😊(Steve Vai is one of my favorite guitar players too! Hes great in that old movie Crossroads lol)
This is probably one of the coolest MJ interviews I have ever heard. Did not expect to be so intrigued with this, and I learned a whole lot. Thanks for finding it and sharing it!
Man, MJ was on-point talking about players experiencing college and getting a degree before going pro, or at least continuing their education while in the NBA. I didn’t know he got his degree 2 years after getting drafted. Makes me appreciate him that much more. Dude is the true GOAT.
100% I agree too. It shows so much in his maturity level vs players who didn't do what he did. He went into college as a good player and came out a great player
I agree with MJ about college. In addition to everything he said (and you said) the brain growth that happens between the late teens and early 20s is so important to becoming the adult these kids will become. College is a perfect setting to foster the best aspects of brain development (plus physical training) and is a great middle step between childhood and adulthood. Students have a bit more structure, shelter, mentorship, and protection than players who go straight to the league. I really think all that stuff is valuable.
Now in days it is not common to see, hear an athlete that speaks and is what they say in a respectful manner. When you get to know somebody like that it is admirable. It gives you a clear idea how the house where he lived is. This is what I call being humble but knowing that it is important that others understand you are who you say in a respectful manner. In the heat of a game everyone have a moment to “talk tough” to the opponent but that does not mean he hate him. You should be competitive in the game but when it’s over you can be cordial and respectful. This is what I see in Jordan; a man that has control over his competitiveness and does not let it go to his head. This is a characteristic we don’t see often now days. Thank you for finding this interview which is very informative 😊
Im glad you liked part 1! Next 2 coming in thr next days. I agree too. I was thr same way. I'd talk trash on the court even vs my friends but once the game is over we were back to being buddies
So glad we talked about the possibility of a print article because this was epic...after watching this I feel like I have PRECIOUS secret MJ knowledge! So incredible you actually found this article -- kudos to your excellent research skills!! Bravo! Thank you, thank you, thank you!🙏😇
So awesome that MJ does more interviews with stuff surrounding his hobbies than Basketball. Kinda lets you see snippets of the man behind the legend. Almost as fun as seeing him at his basketball camps.
Great video thank you for sharing this. I appreciate the bit about Kobe being held back by Del Harris, I tell people that all the time and get tremendous amount push back on it when there's plenty of evidence Kobe was ready from day one. He was busting everybody in workouts and him and Eddie Jones got their first all star together and Kobe was starting off the bench.
Big ups for the link to the article. You read it like an ASMR video, and it has its positives and negatives, LOL. Jordan is consistent about who he was and what his values were all throughout. That's what I picked up after reading it. The other stuff has been well-documented through the years. The latter portion of the interview is more about cigars, and it's a great insight into how Michael enjoys in his private life. Jordan did get to own a piece of the Bobcats a short time after this interview. How Jordan is wired as a player is really different from how he is as an owner, and as the first of his kind, he made a lot of mistakes. It's nice to see he isn't a "Marty Stu" who succeeds in every endeavor. That would make him boring. Still, him selling his majority stake in the Hornets looks to be a prescient move, given the state of the NBA right now. The NBA enforced the draft lottery in 1985, which is why the envelope conspiracy theory came about, especially since the Knicks were 6th in the East and had the 7th-best record in the league the previous season. I haven't read the timeline and the kind of changes made since then, to how it is today. Appreciate you're a Steve Vai fan, BTW. EDIT: Jordan and his camp asked $18 million/year in 1996 (same as what Ewing was making) from the Bulls. The Knicks offered $25 million, and the Bulls countered. I commented on Jonny Arnett's channel that Jordan moving to the Knicks that year would have been an interesting scenario.
Good info here thank you! Glad you liked part 1. Didn't intend for it to be ASMR like lol. I'm just an awkward reader lol. And yeah, Steve Vai has been an inspiration to me on the axe and very much so in life. He is a very wise man
For anyone who enjoyed this you should check out a video where Jordan, Pippen and Phil Jackson sit down and reflect on their years together, it’s titled 1997 Reflections Of A Dynasty Chicago Bulls, the correct video only has about 5k views
Steve Vai 🔥🔥 Him and Marty O'Donnel were so masterful with the soundtrack in the Halo series, ESPECIALLY Halo 2, the greatest soundtrack and one of the greatest games of all time 💯
All I can think is...some poor dude had to type that entire dialogue lol as someone who writes stories I can attest how mind numbing it can get typing up an hour or 2 hour interview. Interesting stuff as always. I love MJ but Marvin...did you see the state of The Hornets/Bobcats whatever they were back then MJ would not know to fix the Knicks LOL One of the things that stood out was his mindset at the draft, I hear stories now of well so and so says if Team A drafts him he won't play for them, the amount of entitlement is insane! Jordan just wanted to get in the league and play and control only what he could control. Also major props to MJ for sticking with Chicago regardless of the hatred he and Krause had which is still such a miracle because we hear so often "winning solves all the problems" Not in that case because Chicago was built on the back of Jordan and his GM did not care, he still wanted to blow the team up because he wasn't getting his proper credit. Basically the entire Chicago Dynasty is Jordan, Pippen and Derrick Rose
Exactly! Heck, right now Jimmy butler is telling certain teams not to make trade offers for him cuz he doesn't wanna go there. The amount of collusion going on is insane. MJ didn't care, he just wanted his chance and he got it.
@TheRealMindCrime I didn't know that even after all these years, it's astounding that we still keep finding something unbelievable with this guy. He slept less, spent tons of time playing golf and cards, smoked cigars before games, and yet still that dominant. BJ Armstrong might be telling the truth that we might not have seen the real maximum he could've done.
Also now these kids are 19 coming in and by year 4 you've gotta give them some form of an extension. Ben Simmons and Zion are prime examples they got paid and don't love the game yet when their 2nd contracts are up they will have made more than Pippen or Barkley as players.
Of course Jordan would liked being the underdog 😂 All the decks stacked against him and it ends with him stepping on everyone's neck Sounds like the most satisfying thing for him
Some players can stay over seas or even the admiral finished his Navy tour before going to NBA so why not draft college juniors but let them finish senior year.
Thats true! They can do that but i think a lot of kids are afraid of getting injured their final years in college before they get to secure rhe nba bag. But they could still do the work as a rookie and still get their degree remotely
I stumbled across this guys channel, it only has 1.6k subscribers. The video is really good and looks at what really happened to Cleveland when LeBron left the first time, versus the narrative that he carried that team. ua-cam.com/video/89USSwwJuwg/v-deo.htmlsi=Y7hP1askbFqCt-Uf

@TheRealMindCrime I've never seen a lebron fans actually post doodoo about MJ, I've always heard about it, but then I just witness it in your comments. These folks are whack. You know, I don't go into pro lebron videos just to bad mouth the perfect family man(that has sex with teenage white women in Canada) I'd rather just watch MJ eating alive NBA defenses and dominating finals games Thanks for all your great videos

this rage bait only works on senile 102 year old men bro what are you doing with your life 😭

Yup! MJ knew Kobe right off the bat and was mentoring him. He knew what Kobe was before any of us did lol.
I watched MJs first game in MSG last night here on youtube. They were cheering for him. Just brings me back

Dean smith really cared about his players he seemed like a wonderful person
Absolutely. Everything I've heard about Dean has been positive. I really enjoyed the section here where MJ sings coach Smith's praise
Steve Vai 🔥🔥 Him and Marty O'Donnel were so masterful with the soundtrack in the Halo series, ESPECIALLY Halo 2, the greatest soundtrack and one of the greatest games of all time 💯
Yup! I was a huge vai fan and when i saw the video footage of him recording for that soundtrack was so awesome.
You can read!!?? Wow that's a rare skill nowadays. 😂 Also have you ever seen Crossroads 1986? It's one of my favorite movies.
Hahaha. Yes yes i can read lol. Also, of course! Karate Kid vs Steve Vai in a movie?? I love that movie
He had 22 points in the 4th that Milwaukee game

Yeah I've checked it out a few times lol
Loses credibility because he doesn't attack LeBron. He has a feel for the game, but yeah, the yelling is intense.
I think we should gate keep it
He smoked cigars before every home game in the 90s! 😮
