Seems like fantom with ex has the the better sounding Jupiter and juno acb models, nzyme synth, supernatural engine and sampling and analog filter. The controls on Jupiter-x change and still menu dive on a small screen. With the fantom you have large color touch screen I cant see any advantage to jupiter-x other than i-arpeggiator and save a few $$
I have been thinking about buying one of these instruments for a long time. It is a difficult choice because I like the capabilities of both. Their cost is a consideration, but so is the time commitment to learn how to use either one effectively. I will probably buy the Jupiter-X this year and then add the Fantom next year.
Not really overpriced if you want the realtime controls. No one seems to care about that but it’s the most important feature for me. Nautilus is a tragedy due to small screen and lack of controls.
Congratulations on your purchase! Are there possibilities to use the Jupiter x preset tones on the Roland Fantom? Because nowhere have I seen anyone talking about this, I believe that because they use the zen-core engine there is this possibility.
@robson969 unfortunately you can't use those presets on Fantom since they have their own iarrpegios, but you can create similar layers since they both have similar sounds.

@@synth.s you can not use presets but you can save patches and you can import to Fantom and play them. Except Jupiter X model presets. This model's sound can only be played by Jupiter-X & Xm
Thats a video i was looking for ! Thank you so much!

You may buy the fantom first.
