    We found ours in our pool. So we are trying to make sure they ate good as our pool is saltwater so we didn’t want them to die. Appreciate your channel.

      That is so cute , I hope you already transferred them fast into a freshwater tank cause saltwater and chemicals in the swimming pool are wrong for them.

      Oh dang! glad you found them when you did and decided to take care of them. Seeking out proper information for care with these types of critters is critical, so seeing someone seemingly unprepared to take one in to begin with taking the steps to get educated on these subjects is very promising:)

    My turtle is 25 years old now and she's not moving like before and eating less

    • @vetcare-healthyanimal

      Hello Tatyana, This could be for many of reasons,
      The average lifespan of a red-eared slider in captivity is around 20-30 years,
      at 25 years old, your red-eared slider is considered on the senior side, as there is Decreased activity and Loss of appetite.
      -also are you in an area of the world that is in winter right now that could be a Brumination
      But if the condition is excessive of loss of movement and not eating.
      As red-yeared slider that is a pet at homes if the pet owner is not providing all the optimum conditions , eventually that could affect her life span, her health on the long run, sometimes could cause irreversible harm.
      so I would advise try to provide all optimum condition from light, temperature and healthy eating.
      Monitor her and if she didn't get better and her conditions is persistent , try to take her to the vet for check up, also examine her physically for any abnormalities she could be sick .

    Do they need gravel i their tank like fish do?

    • @vetcare-healthyanimal
      @vetcare-healthyanimal  Місяць тому

      red-eared slider turtles should not have gravel in their tank. And Here's why:
      Impaction risk: Turtles are opportunistic eaters and might mistake gravel for food. Swallowing gravel can lead to impaction, a serious health condition where the digestive system gets blocked. This can be fatal and often requires surgery.
      Difficult to clean: Gravel traps waste and debris, making it difficult to maintain a clean tank environment which is crucial for turtle health.
