This shawl is beautiful! I made something similar not too long ago. I really love the Tunisian half double but wanted it to be a bit lacier, so I did it with chains added. This pattern is very close to what I referred to at the time as a modified Tunisian half double. I wonder if this stitch is called something along those lines? No matter what it's called, it's absolutely gorgeous!
