For all the inquiring minds out there, this gentleman is using Pro Stick 65 Hi-Strength Spray Adhesive. Walmart, Michael’s and Amazon seem to be a supplier for the item. Thank you for this video sir, I’m about to tackle my seat.

Excellent video, this is exactly what I was searching for. I’m restoring a 1972 Schwinn, Stingray (Lil Chik) for my daughter as a birthday gift. I’m keeping the original parts to put back together later, so I’m replacing the parts that would get wear and tear from regular use. Thanks to your vid, I’ll make her a comfortable seat. 😎 👍

Dude! I'm very handy but I was struggling with where to start, where next and the final pull. You nailed it bro. You're the man. My seat is perfect all because of your share. Thanks for your time.

You can get Free leather for this, you can skin a couch, particularly the seat cushions because it's the softer leather. I also find single pan saddles and make fiberglass bottom pans. Once you ride with one of these nice recovered saddles you won't go back to riding bare metal anymore

Good video, I'm working on the exact same seat myself. I redid it much like you did a number of years ago and the glue let go pretty early on in the middle. I think the problem is that the original leather was preformed or shaped somehow and much more rigid and far less 'stretchy'. What was left of the old leather was stiff as a potato chip and pretty thick, the pan had a layer of carpet padding, then a layer of horse hair, then a layer of what looked like burlap under the leather cover. The edges were just trapped between the metal pans, not glued, of it were one time glued, the glue was long gone. Mine was circa 1936.
The ticket when i redo it this time is going to be to find some heavier leather that can be formed somehow to hold the proper shape.
Even if i were to find a stronger glue, the foam would then just tear as the cover tried to lift up. The original couldn't have been glued as there would have been no way to glue to a nest of horse hair or loose burlap like it had under the leather.

Thanks a lot! Few very useful tips for me redoing couple of my seats! I am not a professional in this, so had to figure my previous ones out by myself. But now i see how to improve it and few things i done wrong before.

I clicked on this video because I have an identical seat but a bit wider, mine is called a tractor seat. Funny enough I was thinking of leather, what oz leather did you use? Thanks for stating which foams you used, now I know what to look for. My seat is to go on a Tricycle I am restoring.

Nice job the one thing i would have changed would had been the colour i would have chosen a darker brown but that's personal preference i know Brooks saddles are a different ball game made with thick pressed out leather but for anyone who would like to tackle a job similar to yours including myself it would be a good little project....

Couches, check for free leather couches on marketplace or find them in the wild sitting on curbs and at illegal dump sites. Skin the couches with a new razorblade. Best leather is the cushions, the rest is too thick for stretching
