Carson Leh has been making custom leather bicycle seats and cycling accessories for 4 years. He started in 2010 recovering torn BMX saddles and in 2013 he founded Leh Seats. He not only manufactures leather bike saddles and handle bar tape, but has recently branched out with new leather goods such as Macbook cases. He produces small production run leather goods for contract in the USA. Filmer Brian Chace of www.chaceproductions.com visited his Austin based workshop this winter to speak with him about his work and inspiration from brogue wingtip dress shoe and boot making. This short film shows the process of one of his custom made BMX seats. Each BMX seat is guaranteed for life against tears. You can find him at www.lehseats.com or on Instagram @lehseats.

I made leather handle bar wraps. I used a baseball stitch to connect the two sides. I have some leather leftover and was thinking of doing my bike's saddle.

That's sick dude, all of the regular bmx seats are really not good and strong or don't even look good. But these seats and everything else you do is absolutely perfect. Coming from a biker, these are my favorite seats i have ever seen. Keep it up man cx

Hi, this looks great, can you tell me what tacker and which staples you use? Thanks!

Beautifull work, but it would get wrecked during normal bmxing, thats why the bmx saddles are made strong but cheap. They would look great on a big old touring bike.

Jack. I disagree! my BMX seats are typically made with 3 ounce hide. I have a seat on mine that has lasted for 4 years so far, still looks brand new!

Wow ! Thats great ! I often wondered if it would be possible to put a leather seat on a BMX. I have a Brooks on a regular bike but these liik great. Ill ask at my BMX store if they could stock them Id buy one !
