I won’t eat fajitas in restaurants ever. They give way too little and charge is ridiculous. I made this, and was way better than eating out! Keep up great videos.
I agree. People are boycotting brisket because of the prices. A single order of fajitas here in central Oklahoma go as high as $32 a plate. Fortunately not all restaurants have gone this high.
Man, that looks good. There’s a Mexican family that bought a small business a half mile up the road from me. Her food is so good that they had to add on to the place just so there would be enough room for people to eat, then I think they added on again. Now, they just made the parking lot bigger and repaved it to make even more room. I always get carry out as I live a minute or two away and it’s always just as good as eating inside. Her food tastes so fresh and her fajitas look just like yours (in my opinion, just simple with fresh ingredients). The place has only been around maybe 5 years now but it’s well known in my area.
A friend of mine is Hispanic and she gave me some Fajitas seasoning from a Hispanic store and it raised my fajitas too a whole new level. It makes all the difference. She is a great friend
Ok the name is Chef Merito Fajitas Rancheras then at the bottom it say Fajitas Estilo Texas. My fried said after you brown the meat the vegetables and mix it all back in your cast iron pan turn it off but leave the mix in and the bottom will burn. It taste just like the restaurants. Hope this helps
I am getting hungry. One of my favorite dishes. Great result. Outside skirt steak is the way to go. I would add tomatoes near the end of the cooking just like you did. Many restaurants add tomatoes early on, it sort of turns mushy and watery.
Hi Arnie, I made your fajitas with your mom’s rice. OMG so delicious. I left out the tomatoes in the fajitas and salsa and I didn’t put oregano in the rice. Everything else done the same. I need to buy me some OG and WOW. My daughters were very impressed. Not bad for a gringo .

Could be healthy, I mean the food we eat at home in Mexican households isn’t tacos, tortilla chips and fajitas or deep fried stuff all the time. What you get at restaurants are stuff we eat on special occasions, for birthdays etc etc. Our diet is really a lot of soups and stews that include a lot of vegetables and proteins most of the time
Great video. You're so right about one thing - whenever I'm in a Mexican restaurant and I hear the sizzling fajitas come out, I instantly wish I'd ordered them instead!! There's just nothing like that sizzling sound!

I'm sure chuck roast is going to do the same thing since people figured out how to smoke them to very tender and juicy.

If it’s a good restaurant it’s not really crazy expensive. Probably around $40. Cheaper than a high end steak house. Doing it at home can be messy with splatter in the kitchen. Personally I like feeling lazy and order a few margaritas at the restaurant. Of course if you live in an area where there’s no high quality restaurant fajitas, there’s no choice but to make it at home.
If its for family home fajitas are great, but depends on the occasion- for speed and no cleanup- especially if you find a good traditional start-up. At least where I am - $25 gets you nearly 2 meals (with the leftovers). for on the go
