We consider you two a blessing in our lives. We watch your video every week then read the scripture then read the CFM lesson and we have never learned more in less time than with this new Come Follow Me program and you help us understand the scripture much better. Thank you for being part of our progression. God bless you both!
Thanks for this. I began a bible study with my mom, who has never read any of the Bible but professes Christianity. These Bible vids help me teach her. Thanks.
I have a story about the refiner's fire. I got it from an institute teacher while we were studying Malachi. "Some time ago, a few ladies met in a certain city to read the scriptures, and make them the subject of conversation. While reading the third chapter of Malachi, they came upon a remarkable expression in the third verse: "And He shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver." One lady's opinion was that it was intended to convey the view of the sanctifying influence of the grace of Christ. Then she proposed to visit a silversmith and report to them what he said on the subject. She went accordingly and without telling the silversmith the object of her errand, begged to the process of refining silver, which he fully described to her. "But sir, " she said. "do you sit while the work of refining is going on?" "Oh, yes madam," replied the silversmith, "I must sit with my eye steadily fixed on the furnace, for if the time necessary fo refining be exceeded in the slightest degree, the silver will be injured." The lady at once saw the beauty, and comfort too, of the expression, "He shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver." Christ sees it is needful to put His children into a furnace; His eye steadily intent on the work of purifying, and His wisdom and love are both engaged in the best manner for them. Their trials do not come at random; "the very hairs of your head are numbered." As the lady was leaving the shop, the silversmith called her back, and said he had forgotten to mention that the only way he knows when the process of purifying is complete is when he sees his own image reflected in the silver.
It reminded me of Alma 5:14. When Christ comes again, He will recognize His true followers because He will see His own reflection (attributes) radiating from their countenances.
You have no idea how pertinent this lesson was for me today! Your story of how you changed your thinking when dealing with a problem relationship has given me hope in dealing with a very peronal relationship that is in crisis. Thank you so much for sharing your personal experience. So many things in this lesson struck a very personal cord with me in my current situation. Also, the Amish!!! I'm completely obsessed!
Thank you for giving of your times and talent for us. I was lol and tearing up in this lesson! I love that you remind us that we are already saved, bought with a price that’s been paid! I am humbled at our Father and Savior love us so much.
Our double brick house burnt down in bushfire, our wooden shed untouched our plastic hothouse untouched. So trust in the Lord, do the best you can and ask Him to add to that.Sometimes the learning is in the rebuilding and helping others do the same. BUT I know what you are saying/teaching. I can take God to be my gold, and precious One.
💕 Thank you for your enthusiasm for teaching the gospel. My 4 kiddos drew their houses this evening. My youngest was the only one to not use wood and was so very excited that his silver house became more beautiful, the older children listened so intently about how although it is a hard trial, they can rebuild. What a great lesson to help them prepare to go back to school! 💖 Thank you for making the scriptures come to life for our family.
You know those Isaiah verses are the basis for our hymn, How Firm a Foundation. ALWAYS when I feel like I have a big problem, we sing that hymn in sacrament meeting. It's beautiful how through our lives and trials God will be with us. Thanks for these videos and your thoughts and preparations. Blessings on your heads!
I just realized a fun resource for the discussion on our bodies as temples (1 Cor 3: 16-17, and 1 Cor 6:19-20) is this month's (Aug 2019) New Era magazine is "The Body" issue, and would be wonderful to use some of the articles in there to dig deeper into caring for our temples.
Thank you so much, my mom usaully does come follow me, but my siblings were getting really mean, and my mom said, "fine you do it" and all my siblings left the table, and my mom also left, so I tried to do for myself, and I couldn't undestand the come follow me book, so I looked up on youtube to see if somebody made a video about this week, and you did, and I really enjoyed the video so thanks!
I love the Amish quote you read. Might you post that article or at least the parts you read? Thanks for all you share with us each week. It has given me a renewed excitement about the New Testament!
Emily, you look beautiful in that shirt! I know it’s a shallow comment 😏 I just couldn’t help it. 😊 Also, I just love these videos because you two teach so “down to earth.” I really love the feeling I get when hearing you. Most nights I go to sleep listening to you two. Lol - your videos are better than the App Calm. 👍🏼😁 Thanks!!!!!
Paul is great to study. Oh Kingly David, and Emily thanks for drawing spiritual likening to our everyday lives. Lookout Grandma The world is coming for those booties. It is lovely to keep Christ central in our lives and help us assist others in their needs, and I am surrounded with not-a-member-yetters around my property but as my husband and I have the flu-Winter here in Australia- I have been given boxes of tissues, bottles of lemonade, bags of oranges, bread and homemade pumpkin soup and many other gifts. Not accepting visitors so they are leaving them for us. This month I graduate with Diploma in Family History, love learning. "God is the one that gave the increase" I am still picking tomatoes and capsicums. Pumpkins love water, -Peggy
Please make your audio available in podcast format-pretty please? I would love to listen to you guys in the car without draining my data with youtube. Such a great idea! ;)
I loved how you made the scriptures relate to the Three Little Pigs. I’m going to remember that scripture .Another highlight was was the Amish philosophy. May I please get a copy of it? It really touched my heart.
In the past few videos, I was a little concerned that the sister has been speaking over the brother. I have really loved your videos in the past, but I have not enjoyed the last few because of not letting the brother speak out his explanation.
