youd ont understand how hard i have it im a libero for a highschool team and i dig a few hits but its impossible to get all when the ball isnt blocked and coming 1000 mph. I hate how volley ball teams dont give the defensive the credit they deserve diging a spike is the hardest thing in volley ball

    That was very heplful.
I've just entered college and the spikes are WAY faster and stronger than in the high school, so I'm having a big trouble at putting my receives on my side of the court.
    Thanks coach!
Also, do you have any tip to improve my reaction speed, or it's something that will grow alone with playtime and experience?

    • @douglas6813
      @douglas6813 8 років тому +36

Reacting is something that takes some time to be good at, the best tip you can receive is to never take your eyes out of the ball and as soon as it's hit you gotta move yourself to receive it

Great Video. I'm a relatively new player to volleyball and am picking the game up quickly with the help of your videos. Would you be able to do a video serve returns for the "tweener" types? I.E. balls that are coming at you fast enough that you can't necessarily re-position and that are in the area between bump passing and "set" passing? That is one part of my game that I am particularly struggling with.

No, they cannot. They can't attack anything higher than net. Theoretically he could attack upwards while standing, but that would be weird if spiker/opposite can attack full on from back row.
Of course that's official international rule. Maybe in some federations it's possible for libero to attack (as it was said that liberos can serve in some games we watch on this channel)

A libero can attack it just can’t be in front of the 10 foot line.

Is there any video of yours , that can help out with teams as a whole? Any strategy or tips would be really appreciated , since we will be going on a tournament in January and we are kinda good individually but we are pretty average as a team.( high school team).

I am a libero who has problems with overhand passing. It usually causes me to overthink and panic when the ball comes higher. And it makes me the weaklink of the team when the opponents figure that out.

**face attacker & drop shoulder to attacker
Absorb energy (GO MORE UNDER THE BALLdon’t really pop up but move arms towards it slightly)
    Feet close 2 spike
Outside platform range- STEP & shoot- take a step and bump

Still looking for the video in which you explain how to defend against a hard spike directly to your face. Good videos btw Coach! Greetings from Ecuador.

Can you make a video talking about confidence? I recently joined a team but I am scared to hit hard because I don’t want to miss and let my team down.

Do you have any suggestions on how to dig and roll, or dive for a ball without hurting yourself?

Hello sir. may i ask during digging, should our feet be planted flat on the ground or both feet be leaning forward (tiptoed) or only one foot tiptoed and the other, flat? thanks
