    In my opinion, there is no one on UA-cam...I repeat NO ONE that is a better teacher of this stuff than Pye. This is great.

    Dear Pye,
    This is the first video I discovered from you and it really goes beyond "good and useful content." Your energy, tone of voice, and pace didn't just make this a great video to watch, but they also transported an implicit message of, "Don't worry, you can do this. And you can do this well," where most tutorials still leave a big gap between teacher and student. Thanks so much!

    I've been watching so many videos on this and trying to find how to do interviews in a small space ... my idea to light it looked exactly as you have here and yet I couldn't find a single video to confirm or deny this ... but here we are! Woo! 🎉
    Subscribed. Thank you!

    Man i know this video is from a while back already but im glad i found it - I've seen most every youtube video from reputable channels about choices of light and their positioning etc but no one ive come across has gone through the steps in terms of fine tuning the ambient like this as a starting point for setting the scene; most videos focus only on the subject and/or key lights

    Great and easy to follow tutorial using C-A-M-P. In my personal taste, I'd probably set those rim lights to a warmer colour too so that they almost 'motivate' the practical ambient lights in the background.

    I'm in the process of creating a similar video for my channel but one that's geared toward working alone, on-site, for clients - trying to create depth with the least amount of gear possible. My process is similar, but starts with the subject and then moves to the background. I figure if you run out of time, you better have the subject lit first! Great stuff here - really helpful. Thanks.

    Great video... being an old portrait shooter, I would sort of lean more towards "Rembrandt" lighting for better modeling. Also... I usually start off with the T/F stop ISO combo that I want to use and then proceed with your four steps. Unfortunately... there are a lot of point and shoot people out there that don't understand the value of good set design and lighting.

    When dialing in your background lights, you set the shutter speed 1/30. I’m probably just a dinosaur, but I always use 2x fps… so 1/50th for 24p or 1/60th for 30p. I see later you do adjust it, but are there situations where you film at 1/30? Does this ‘rule’ no longer apply? Thanks, GREAT video!

    • @usmanmajid7837
      @usmanmajid7837 4 місяці тому

      I think he set up the camera at the beginning with incorrect settings just to purposefully brighten up the image and get some kind of a "before" shot. Lower shutter speed introduces more light, so later on he probably fixed it.
