- While being on a scooter, you come across many pineapple plantations. Some of the farmers were selling their products by the roadside, but when I wanted to buy I could not find them. But later I met this super nice family and bought some items.

The dessert which she sells and gave you is called 'wajik' - glutinous rice cooked in coconut milk & palm sugar. Takes hours to make it.

Not a suprise since this is Langkawi...the folks there are so used to communicate with foreign tourists..the same goes for those locals in Taman Negara Pahang & Tioman Island ( just to name a few)...

Our second language is English and third one is arabic read,write and speak. Same goes to HK and India we all colonial by British

Davud,You mentioned “Tapai Pulut Maksu” at 3:58. Tapai pulut is one of the delicacy in this part of the world. Maksu is a term that we Malays use in calling our youngest aunt. “Tapai pulut” is fermented glutinous rice. It is very sweet plus a little bit sour and has a little bit of alcohol content due to the fermentation process. The fermentation is normally for 7 days. We only eat/take the glutinous rice and throw away the liquid. Tuak which is an alcoholic drink famous on Borneo Island (East Malaysia-Sabah and Sarawak) is made the same way but the fermentation is longer and the liquid from the fermentation process is called tuak. Probably quite similar to sake and soju.
Indonesian part of Sumatra uses same term for Pulut and Tuak, these refer to same things.

Exactly, Same goes to my place as well, mostly in rural area/village but if its in any big cities especially like Kuala Lumpur, I don’t think the situation will be same

haha only in langkawi island... and some other rural place in malaysia... in langkawi even if you leave a motorcycle with a key on it... no ones will steal it
