  • Hi, Everyone.
    Luke Rides is back.
Back from the epic fun filled experience of British SuperBikes @ race 2 of Oulton Park.
Now we revisit a fun off road legendary motorcycle from Yamaha's past.
A legend in the motorcycling world.
And among the last hurrah of the big single cylinder engine.
The end of an era. The last of a generation.
    The Yamaha XT660R.
Mid weight off road and on road motorcycle by Yamaha.
That started it's life back in the 1970s with the XT500.
Over time Yamaha refined and increased the bore size of the Yamaha XT660R.
Giving the XT fuel injection and computer controlled system with ignition.
For her time this was cutting edge.
But with the way the world is now big single cylinder engines as being killed off.
    And no longer bring produced.
With Kawasaki Yamaha Ducati BMW and even KTM all going down to twin cylinders for their mid weight off road enduros.
We will miss such Enduro's like the Yamaha XT660R.
How good they were and not big and heavy like BMW GS or Ducati Multistrada.
Let see what things Luke Rides loves about the Yamaha XT660R.
