    Booming because they don't tax like crazy. Economy there is better in general with a lower cost of living. But Edmonton isn't the best in terms of a fun place to live there

    If this true why are there so many unfinished houses and real estate up for sale no ones buying. They have been sitting unsold for hundreds of days.

    Hopefully the province and cities will build more roads for all these people and provide plenty of parking. Whether you like it or not, we still live in Car World. Freeways like Whitemud Drive in Edmonton and Ring Rd in Calgary will need to be expanded with multi-level lanes (at least ten) above and below the existing roads that were originally designed for less than 1 million people, unless they want people sitting in traffic for 2 hours everyday like L.A.

    • @alistairlogie1815
      @alistairlogie1815 2 місяці тому

      LA expanded their freeways and it's why they sit in traffic all day, if we want to make traffic better than we need to give people the option to not drive by putting amenities near people and making transit safe, fast, and accessible.

    • @alistairlogie1815
      @alistairlogie1815 2 місяці тому +2

      The 401 in Ontario got expanded to 18 lanes and it's still a parking lot

    • @Droxal
      @Droxal 2 місяці тому +2

      Multi level lanes?! That is insanity. The solution to traffic is not more lanes and highways. It's more amenities nearby, and better transit.

      f that, build trains

    • @Ultimabendessen
      @Ultimabendessen 2 місяці тому

      @@canadaclub8920 I agree that trains / lrts are much better. I actually hate this Car World that the capitalists have created. It's completely unsustainable. The problem with trains, is they have almost no idea how to build them. I was born near Heritage Mall in Edmonton, which was built with the intention of having an LRT station and lines built in the 80's, but it took over 20 years before they even decided to start and they ended up demolishing the mall before that. And nowadays they have trouble pouring and arranging the concrete properly and can't even figure out how to setup the lights and timing (i.e. in Edmonton). And yes, amenities are important. I remember it took the Chappelle (I think that's the name) neighbourhood in Edmonton, which is in the middle of nowhere currently, over 10 years to get a convenient store and nothing else.
