This was truly Legendary!! I can listen to Gonz & Tony talk about OG stories & random ish for hours. Can we please get a part 2 with Gonz, Rodney, Neil, Natas, & of course Tony all in the same room, that would be historical!!!!
I'm still in shock that this really happened. Thank you to both of you for everything, and Rodney as well. I'm 25 years in so far and I won't stop until I can't walk.
The pod was over an hour long but only felt like a few mins! To have Mark Gonzales on Hawk vs Wolf, or rather 'Hawk' today, was a real treat. Thanks so much to you both for all the skate history and funny anecdotes 🤩
What a mesmerizing interview! Gonz is like Picasso, though I'm not sure if he's more the painter or the paintings. The conversation moves like his skating-wholly unique, disjointed, and seamless at the same time. He is one of the most versatile skaters we have, and thank goodness we have him. The random shared and complementary memories bestow laughs and nostalgia on us. Thank you for this.
I asked for a Gonz and/or Steve Steadham interview like 3 weeks ago & you guys delivered! THANK YOU! Now we need that Steadham interview and life is complete.
Of course the Earth could only shake and tremble as these two people shared the same spacetime location. Two great dudes that go great together. Mark is just such a lovely human being. No artifice, no conceit, no dishonesty, no disdain for anyone or anything, just an earnest, sincere, humble soul. To see both Tony and Gonz appreciating each other's abilities and laughing like only old friends can is to know what contentment really is. You really get the feeling that hanging out with Gonz would make you feel loads better anytime or anywhere. One of the most beautiful moments was when Tony asked him what his favorite thing to do at a contest/skate event was and Gonz just guilelessly answers "I just loved being part of the scene." Somebody who just deeply enjoys and appreciates being with and around other skaters skating for the pure love and sheer fun of it. What a wonderful way to start the week.
