Fun fact about the Expunge missions: If you look at the radar, it would say messages below it. In the video you only see "I see you". But the whole message is "I see you. Crawling around my domain like insects. This realm answers to only one master. You are nothing. You know nothing of power. Thrashing around like a wounded animal. Unaware that you are already dead. Your failure is written in time. Your victories are hollow things. I have seen your grave. I see you. Rent asunder... Broken... Taken." Also, Quria, Blade Transform is a character in the lore all the way back in Taken King. Crota opened a portal to the Vex Domain to Oryx's Throne World after his sisters tricked him into doing it. Quria was the Vex Mind that attacked. It learned about Oryx and thus how about the Taken and how to. Oryx made her a Taken Mind but with a small amount of free will and gifted it to Savathûn to study. That's why she could command Taken and Vex at the same time. Also, there was a mission during Taken King where we get the No Time To Explain exotic and it shows the Vex being extremely fearful of the Taken saying that they are the end of all things and can't overcome them like us.
@@merilynnshark6144Quria shows up in Truth to Power, but that book is a very heavy blend of truth and lies, and it's not likely the Quria part was true. Ikora gives a really good analysis of that book in her correspondence with Arach Jalal in The Hidden Dossier.

One thing that the video did not show was that as the story progressed and Quria was being revealed, Taken Blights were forming inside the Tower social space. A cool set piece to go along with the story. An easter egg: If you were quick/lucky in the opening mission, Quria actually spawns in with all the other Vex to try to eradicate you. But she is only there for about a second before you are teleported out. 2nd Easter Egg: In the final battle, there is a blue friendly Harpy beeping out Morse Code: "Assistant."
So there are a few points that you've managed to deduce that aren't really told well during Season of the Splicer: 1.) Lakshmi-2 had a grudge against the Fallen that comes from her history as a survivor of Old London. After the Collapse there were several major cities on Earth that actually survived, only to be destroyed in their entirety by Fallen raiding parties that believed they could win back the Traveler's favor if they destroyed humanity. This leads us to point 2: 2.) One of the members of House Light is a former Eliksni warlord and has a major history involving attacking human settlements and raising them to the ground. His story is detailed in the lorebook "Achilles Weaves a Cocoon" where he goes by the name Namrask hoping to create a new life for himself after seeing New Riis and House Salvation begin to collapse on Europa. 3.) Lakshmi-2 actually recognizes Namrask as one of the leaders of the Fallen raiding parties responsible for destroying her old home. She chooses to overlook the truth about his origins keeping it a secret from the Vanguard/Consensus/Misraaks on the belief that individuals can change if they truly want to. This leads us to the last point: 4.) You are correct in that Savathun orchestrated the events behind the Vex creating their eternal night simulation over the Last City, and Lakshmi-2's increasing paranoia was not natural either. Season of the Splicer was very dramatic and all but failed to remind everyone how the history of the Eliksni arriving in Sol has been nothing but humanity on the receiving end of their violence. The fall of New Riis on Europa and the new start for House Light is a monumental turning point in Destiny history, but Bungie really failed to make it clear that the civilian population in the Last City should be horrified at the idea of one Vanguard leader being allowed to dictate policy for the entire city and allow an Eliksni House to live with them. I can say with certainty that the next season (Season of the Lost) is an incredible one. A lot of plot elements will be coming together to kick of the start of Witch Queen, which is still arguably the best expansion D2 has gotten to date content and story wise.
I kinda wish Saint used a bubble here would have made it more believable or a banner shield in that last cutscene. Would have changed the meaning of the bubble for them too, cause Saint can blind any enemies within the bubble but if it didn’t blind the elisknsi in it it would be kinda like the light in him (or however it works with the bubble determining friend from foe) sees the eliksni as friends.
The emergence of Osusris at last! Oh man that tension was such a fun part of the season. EVERYONE was so sus of Osiris and we were all watching him like a hawk. And then of course, we all know how that went… As for Quria, a little background. Quria was originally created by the Vex to understand the Sword Logic when they first broke into Oryx’s Throne World. Of course they were no match for Oryx and he half-Took the Vex Hydra, but left some free will of its own because it was able o simulate Oryx before he made a pact with the worm gods. He then gave the Vex Mind to Savathûn as a gift. Somehow, it eventually managed to learn how to simulate the ability to Take, which is why we see the Taken under Savathûn’s control starting with the Red War. Quria was ALSO the Vex Mind that designed the curse of the Dreaming City, which Savathûn used Riven’s magic to put into place. And the fact that Quria has looked into the Corridors of Time and has seen our grave is certainly interesting… And the season finale was such a strong moment for the Destiny narrative. Mithrax and Saint becoming absolute bros was a delight.👌 One of my highlights for sure and the whole finale leads perfectly into the next season.

Interesting note about Quria the dreaming mind (formerly blade transform), it was arguably the most famous vex mind in all of destiny before we ended it in this season. Millions of years ago, crota accidentally opened a rift in Oryx's throneworld and started a vex invasion that lasted centuries, and because the sword logic is what governs power in his throneworld the vex devised Quria, Blade Transform, which essentially adapted and starting using sword logic to grow in power. Oryx eventually took quria, and gifted it to savathun, but left a little of the vex's atonomy to effectivly troll savathun, didnt work obviously. Thats the abbreviated backround story of Quria, the dreaming mind. People were hyping up this vex mind so much that most people expected it to be a raid boss at some point, to set the infamy of it in perspective.

It's important to note that Misraaks does not hide behind House Light being a new house when acknowledging that Eliksni have committed crimes like the eating people thing. He knows that particular instance was most likely House of Devils, but he's being completely serious when he says that they can "only promise to be better". Promising to be better is what he wants from the Eliksni who have fought with Humanity. He will allow even someone from House of Devils, even someone who committed what would easily be classified as war crimes, to enter House Light but only if they swear not to take up arms against the Last City and to devote themselves to a new life under the light.
