Just put them in a kennel elevated a few inches for a few days. Sorry but this was hard to watch. If you dunno them it takes about ten minutes and then a few days of on the ball egg collecting

I put my broody hens in chicken jail for a day, two at most. Works every time. Of course I have to do it repeatedly throughout spring and summer with my lavender orpingtons.

Susan That is what I discovered worked best. Ooh I have never heard of a lavender Orp , I will have to look that up, sounds pretty! I have a rooster this year so I am not breaking as many broody hens this year, They are hatching eggs!!so fun! Cheers, Dash

My Brauma hen is in broody jail and she’s not laying eggs while in jail. Is that normal?

Yes totally normal. They stop laying while they are broody.
