I never did AX combat before. I grabbed a Chieftain, packed it with AX guns and advanced multicannons, and have cleared a billion already with almost no engineering. Join the fight!
I did the opposite. I was in an Imperial Courier, and just slapped some AX guns on it. She's been affectionately dubbed the ablative courier because of how many rebuys were involved with my clownshow. Was making money faster than I was blowing up, so... it's fiiiiiiiine.
Having come back to the game recently I didn't think you could fight Thargoids without specialist weaponry. Thanks to you, I am now in the fight. As you recommended, I have started in the low intensity first. Thank you Commander!
My recommendations to new ax pilots: - chieftain or krait mk II are the best options but you need engineering them a bit, specially for survival - gauss cannons are for snipping interceptor hearts. If you have aim and practice with railguns, ok. Give them a try. If not, Guardian shard cannons or guardian plasma for exert the heart and gimballed enhanced ax mc to destroy it. - advanced xeno scan and pulse neutralizer are mandatory if you don't plan to snipe hearts and if you don't want to see you floating with every system off while getting shot, respectively - start in planet stations and ports as interceptor don't deploy the swarm. One thing less to worry. Besides, you can land, repair and get missions faster. - and unless you play in a wing with friends or you are really good at docking manually and fast freeing the pad, play solo first.
I bet the thargoids got enough info out of that dude that they know where the civilizations are at in Colonia, and the scope of our bubble entirely. I wouldn't be surprised if this was just a recon mission by the thargoids,, a successful one at that
Wish I'd known about this sooner, will have to check it out. I've come back and opted to jump into a clean save (kinda regretting wiping my old save) to see the game with fresh eyes. I feel like I'm stumbling at the first hurdles with trying to work out how to start engineering again and how to get the guardian stuff.
If the devs think this invasion helps to save the game, they are wrong. I followed your information in this vid and died over and over, heavily engineered Chieftain with tons of dogfighting hours. Went to a low conflict. Would have been fun if there were just scout, and maybe something a bit harder. Instead the interceptor waves made the fights very short!
Definitely, this is terrible. We need more features or ships. I don’t care if there are 20 different types of Thargoid interceptors-they’re just color swaps with absurdly powerful attributes. I don’t want to play cat and mouse for 30 minutes. Where is on foot combat with Thargoids? This is some half baked gameplay. And they still haven’t fixed some basic bugs, like the fleet carrier inventory bug.
If you don’t have engineered or guardian weapons I recommend joining anti-xeno initiative private group so you can fight cyclops interceptors as long as there are players, it’s set on auto accept so you shouldn’t have any trouble joining, glory to mankind o7
I think you need the Shutdown Field Neutralizer (not the Thargoid Pulse Neutralizer - which is for Titans). I also like to switch out one of the Caustic Sinks with a Heat Sink. And to note: If you can score hits on the goids (doing damage) - you can get pay outs on those too. Good to have experienced AX pilots do most of the work - just get yer boot in.
Yup, I got a few assisted kills for Interceptors that way. And I *think* the pulse neutralizer works on shutdown fields as well. I had it left on there from the last Titan, and it seemed to work when I tried it this weekend.
@@Mile13Gaming Neutraliser doesn't work on shutdown fields. you were covered by other commanders shutdown neutraliser. like the guy above says just get your boot in for the credits, we dont mind that. if your gonna make instructional videos though it would help to check your facts with experienced players.
The Thargoid Pulse Neutralizer also works but it only shields you from the surge. The Shutdown Field Neutralizer has a range of up to 3km and uses less energy in the power distributor.
this is super awesome to be able to watch but im worried about core and optionals for this too, are there any specifics i should do? Core or optional wise?
I used the prebuy Cheiftan, as I have never done any AX stuff. It worked out really well for me as I was only destroyed once ( 2 interceptors lightning and shutdown field lol ) with a 0 rebuy... Even got to take down a few Interceptors, just had to learn how etc lol
This was the most fun week iv had doing ax combat in over a year. Was so cool fighting along side other AX commanders defending Jamison Memorial. Also the most money iv made in such a short time (insert Donald’s Trumps Billions & Billions meme)
My Cobra Mk III with modified plasma chargers is particularly good against scouts (and scythes when they interdict me while I’m carrying escape pods). But those weapons, while great against Thargoids and human enemies alike, are a bit a palaver to obtain.
sadly at this time the event is over with no confclict zone or any missions in jameson station for some reason even the bar was at 75%. maybe Fdev will clear this out in the future
Commanders were said to have been handing in bounties at other stations, perhaps that skewed the completion? I was jumping into Shinrarta for my first run when the message came throught that the Thargoids had cleared out 🥺 🤣. Still, I was able to jump down to the Titan area and take out a bunch of scouts instead thanks to tips in this video. Thanks @Mile13Gaming
@@FrankGranadosAh crapola! It still allowed me sign up for it at the Cornwallis.. there was maybe a quarter of the progress line left. Oh well, back to Kelly station for some more mining.
@sfs2040 being squishy isn't a problem at combat zones where you can repair. Also mine is designed to be disposable so after destruction my premium ammo gets replaced
Didn't mention keeping below 20% heat to avoid interceptor fire or that the thargoids ignore shield and hull resistances. Also nothing about how to use the utility modules
CAUTION PULSE NEUTRALIZER is for getting in the maelstrom, when you go for the Titan! use SHUTDOWN FIELD NEUTRALIZER instead for not getting disabled by thargs!
I never did AX combat before. I grabbed a Chieftain, packed it with AX guns and advanced multicannons, and have cleared a billion already with almost no engineering. Join the fight!
Wow! That's awesome!
I built a Vulture with 2 multi cannons and have been picking off scouts. Super fun

I believe you. But I LOVE how this reads as classic fake war-time propaganda. "we'll be home by Christmas!"

Lol, the fight is over now. We won.
Tell me you haven't read the description without telling me you haven't read the description
Yup, but the info should be relevant for any system in Thargoid war status. Hope that helps!

Wait, what’s happening at Jameson Memorial? I haven’t played the game for about 8 months now and I docked my ship there.
Thargoids attacked but they've been stopped now. Your ships and modules should be unaffected 😊

"an fdl even"
Almost best combat ship in the game XD
Oh, believe me, I know. My FDL is my main combat ship. For some reason, it's left out of the AX lineup for the most part. Not exactly sure why.
My Cobra Mk III with modified plasma chargers is particularly good against scouts (and scythes when they interdict me while I’m carrying escape pods). But those weapons, while great against Thargoids and human enemies alike, are a bit a palaver to obtain.
Isnt the pulse neutralizer different from the shutdown neutralizer? The pulse one is for the titan pulse.
Can a mandalay do well in ax combat? Asking for a friend.
Ive got the python mk2 is it good for bug squishing?
Yes it's my new favorite
I haven't tried it personally, but I don't see why the Python Mk2 wouldn't be a very capable AX ship!
I have a Krait Mk2, and let’s just say the Thargoid population is gonna go the way of the Dodo now
The Krait makes a fantastic AX ship! Happy hunting!
Great info.

Where do I sign up atm? It’s not Cornwallis.
This event has been completed. Currently you can just go into systems around Sol and do some low intensity AX zones
Excellent tutorial o7

I'm at Jameson Memorial now, I can't see any AX conflict areas :(
The invasion was repelled just yesterday 😢

all players have permit access to this system for the next 2 weeks
You forgot to mention all the modules the CMDR will get now it has passed Tier 1
Yup. Also that.
it is over already right?
It is, but there's more out there!
