    Very good instructions and easy to understand even though the camera angle almost cut off my view of the stitching. Enjoyed this very much because I’ve made one once before and love that this pattern folds for a thicker scrubby.

    All I have to say, good for you. I tried working with this yarn and just was unable. I am resigned to making pom poms with it. Thanks for sharing!

      It can be a bit tricky and hard to see. i eventually got used to it and can find the stitches by feel, but I bet they make great pom poms! LOL

    I started with 16 stitches but ended with 10. You are talented to be able to work with this difficult yarn. I can hardly make out the stitches. But will try again. : )

    I've never seen anyone yo like that. Are you primarily a knitter?

    • @Itchinforsomestitchin
      @Itchinforsomestitchin  3 роки тому +4

      Hi Georgia, although I do knit, I am actually primarily a crocheter. I am a self-taught crocheter and have had my unusual way of yarning over mentioned multiple times. When I was teaching myself to crochet I didn't realize this method was any different from others, but I do believe I may have inadvertently developed it as a way to put less work on my working arm. I have right-sided weakness and unfortunately, I am right-handed. I think yarning over this way with my left hand helps me to be able to crochet for longer periods of time.

      I was watching you yo and thought hey! Someone does it too. Lol
      I do get asked if I knit. I was also self taught. I've never been able to get the hang of the lifted finger and using the hook to grab the yarn.

    • @Itchinforsomestitchin

      Oh you poor thing… I did a search for scrubby yarn alternatives without luck. I supposed you could use plain cotton yarn, but it technically wouldn’t be a “scrubby”. The scrubby yarn is what gives it the ability to act like a scrubby and unfortunately it is a bit hard to see the stitches while working with it - I tend to find the stitches by “feel” more actually seeing them.

    The beeping fire detector in the background was so distracting I couldn't get past the 1st few minutes of the video

    • @Itchinforsomestitchin
      @Itchinforsomestitchin  3 роки тому +3

      After this comment I listened to this video and could not hear what you were talking about. I thought maybe it's the chimes in the music at the start of the video. Then after another message from someone else confirming she too could hear the beeping, I listened to it again - 2 or 3 times before I could hear the intermittent slight chirping. I had to listen quite intently. I apologize and had no idea it was in the video. I will remake it when I get the chance.

      @@Itchinforsomestitchinactually there is a beeping throughout the video that sounds exactly like a smoke detector 'check battery' beep. It freaked me out initially, because I thought it was mine, lol. 😁

      @@katesutherland6088 So funny - when your comment came through I immediately thought "what on earth are you talking about. I just listed to the video and heard nothing". But I listened to the video again - twice before I could hear what you guys are talking about. There is a very slight chirp every once in a while that I had no idea was there and actually struggle to hear at all. You have good ears! I will have to remake this video when I get a chance. Thank you for helping to clear this up!

      Y’all listen.. my moms sector has been doing this for 6 yrs straight! No joke! We have replaced batteries & everything & could not get it to stop! She has a huge , nice house where some ceilings are very high up. After my dad passed away I even called the fire department to see if someone could come help us & to this day it verbs. The whole family ( including relatives that visit every year or so from other states) have just moved passed it pretty much. At times it bothers me or someone but my mom is deaf and hearing loss runs in our family so not everyone can hear it but omg!!! Years!!!!!! Had I seen this because I am going to call our fire department again and see if someone will come out! I laughed when I was watching the video bc I could hear it( exactly how moms sounds) and the only comment I could see was this one!

    This yarn is very hard to work with unless you mix some cotton yarn with it.
