    I started off by making one of these to "try" it out first because I wasn't sure how well they would clean. Turns out they clean better than any store-bought sponge! I have a drawer full of them now because they're just the best.

    Loved your video ♥ Just wondering tho... if you leave a long tail when you finished and brought it between the "sandwich" and bring it out in the middle and embroidered an "X" it may hold together better and not slide... especially with that middle part being in there. I am going to try your pattern and do the X in the middle to give it extra stability when scrubbing. Thank you!

    Would this be ok with acrylic yarn instead of cotton?

    • @caabcrochet
      @caabcrochet  3 роки тому +4

      Hi Emily, the downside of acrylic versus cotton is that acrylic will not hold/absorb water. So if you want it to wipe or soak up liquid like a traditional sponge, it won’t do that. It will kind of just spread the water around. If all you’re doing is scrubbing with it in the sink it might do ok, but absorbency is where you’ll run into an issue. Hope that helps!

    What do you mean same stitch is in the first chain

    • @caabcrochet
      @caabcrochet  3 роки тому

      Whatever stitch the chain you just completed is coming out of... stitch into that one (the same one). I'm not sure which instruction minute on the video you are referring to, but usually if it is the ch 1 at the beginning of a new row, then the stitch it comes out of is also the same stitch you joined into to complete the previous row. That can also help you identify which stitch to crochet into (the same one you joined to in the previous row). Hope that helps!

    Do u have to use cotton yarn? Can u use acrylic yarn?

    • @caabcrochet
      @caabcrochet  2 роки тому

      Cotton is more absorbent than acrylic, which is why it is usually used for something that will get wet. The water will kind of just get pushed around with acrylic yarn. If it doesn't bother you though, no problem using it! You could also look for cotton blend yarn that is at least partially cotton to get better absorbency.

    Can't wait to try this!!!😃😃😃 I was looking for a nice and thick scrubby and I found it!!! Thanks a lot!! I just have one question...do they clean good?? I really wanna ditch my regular scrub. Thanks again

    • @caabcrochet
      @caabcrochet  3 роки тому +1

      I just throw them in the wash and dryer with the rest of the laundry and that works great. Depending on the yarn, the color might fade a little after washing.

  • @crystalmiller5310
    @crystalmiller5310 5 днів тому

    Did you only do 7 rows of scrubby, instead of 8? That's the only way I can figure that both your top and bottom tails could end up on the same side.... I did 16 rows+ starting chain of cotton then 8 more rows of the 2 yarns together and my tails are on opposite sides. I counted my rows 8 times and I used a project tracker to check off each row, I know I didn't make a mistake! Lol..

    • @caabcrochet
      @caabcrochet  5 днів тому +1

      It's completely possible. But it shouldn't make a difference where your tails end up so I wouldn't worry about it.

    • @crystalmiller5310
      @crystalmiller5310 4 дні тому

      @caabcrochet good to know. I also had another thought. I wanted to make sure that the center layer stays put, so I was considering actually tying on the scrubby yarn in top of the beginning stitch in last row of cotton and then slipstitch across, sewing the center flap in place, then doubling it up with the cotton to finish out the scrubby rows. Hopefully you understand what I mean to do..

      @@maureenharpell8734 I think it is relatively new. It is the only one I've seen that's cotton. Glad they created it so there is the cotton option! Jute could be interesting. It would probably be harder to work with but always worth a try! :D

    Maggie May Crochet has basically stolen this pattern from you and posted it on her channel 6 months ago. I've just come across it........I hate when people steal work without even giving acknowledgement to the original creator. It's literally your exact pattern. I don't get why it's so hard to give basic credit to a creator. It's just rampant in the artistic/fiber work space.
