Robrecht Neyrinck Yes! I heard that and I was like, oof.. that is just NOT FAIR! Being a slower song, those fast sections convey the anxiety and “word vomit” Evan feels, but he has to focus on getting the words out rather than that emotion. His voice is gorgeous, but the accompanist almost ruins the performance! 🙄😡
I disagree with this comment. The accompanist is following the singer. To check that out, listen to the slower parts. Especially the parts with more space.
I know this is really specific, but your decrescendo at 4:15 is just BEAUTIFUL and perfectly executed. I love it. I never comment but I really had to commend you on that beautiful control and musicality.
Such a lovely, delicate, grounded, captivating and fully immersive performance. As a singer, you have a lovely instrument, but as an actor, you weren't afraid to let it be about the performance, not just the notes. That's a pro at work. Not feeling the need to hit folks over the head with what the voice can do, but satisfied to just let it service the story. Really wonderful work, Evan. It was a pleasure to watch. Thanks for posting it. Bravo.
me: trys to sing along in the correct octave and key as him, as a bass also me: remembering I can barely sing a C4 and having to sing this song two octaves down
Evan was absolutely phenomenal in the lead role of Marc Hall in the Lonny Price-directed THE LOUDER WE GET at Theatre Calgary. He's got the goods to go places.
This was so pure and tender. i loved it. I think your expressions are so honest. they aren't these huge big over the top expressions. they are real and honest. amazing job. really
This is amazing. Seriously, probably my favourite version except the original. This version really, really, really captured the character and the song. I'd pay just as much to see you as Evan (Hansen) then I would Ben Platt or Noah Galvin or whoever else they've hired now. AMAZING. I'm in love
omg omg omg WHAT JUST HAPPENED TO MY EYES AND EARS...i think i maybe, might have just...fallen in love. wow. your falsetto, belt, vibrato, your decrescendo at 4:13...actual perfection
Excuse me, I am thirty minutes in and just by the utterance of the first notes- I am on the verge of tears. Who said that you were allowed to do that to my heart?
This is what happens when the pianist thinks he's the most important person in the room. Give the boy some breathing space to perform the song. Great voice, shame about the accompaniment.
I think you're antagonizing the pianist way too much. It's very possible that he just didn't rehearse enough with the accompanist. It is the soloist's job to tell the accompanist what they want. If the score says 114 and the singer does not convey to the pianist how he wants to sing the song, how is the accompanist supposed to know any better? Accompanists deserve better than this comment.
Mozambitch this is some classic soloist bs. you are responsible for your accompaniment, if they're not doing what you want, you work with them until they do or you fire them, periodt.
The song itself it a true masterpiece of our time. Bravo sir. Excellent technique and delivery! The character showed in both the voice and the body. Excellent!
I absolutely loved this play. Let me tell you, I have seen many of these covers, and you still moved me with the emotion you portrayed throughout this song. Amazing performance.
I think I just developed a crush on this guy lol. I wish the piano accompanist would have worked around him more so he could express more of that beautiful and emotional voice though.
God that piano. SLOW DOWN MAN LET THE BOY SING.
Its like he doesn't understand what the song is supposed to be... poor man.
The original sheet music says tempo 114... if you haven't heard the play or the original song it's hard.
@@lordsp yes, but he could have slowed down 😔 maybe they just didnt rehearse together enough
his name is EVAN
Illuminate confirmed
So is mine!
Lesbean 😘
fantastic acting! he didn't over do it with the "i'm sad" thing and on top of it his voice is incredible.
Such a smooth voice....a gift from God.
It's truly beautifully sung, but it's such a shame the piano rushes him sometimes, instead of letting him take his time :(

Actually in recitals such as this, the accompanist follows the singer’s tempo. So he is choosing to go faster. But I do wish he slowed down, too.

This is so infuriating
That belt towards the end gave me chills.
So when you graduate, you’re going to audition for the role of Evan Hansen, right?
Please.
I know this is really specific, but your decrescendo at 4:15 is just BEAUTIFUL and perfectly executed. I love it. I never comment but I really had to commend you on that beautiful control and musicality.

"Dear Evan Kinnane" :3

This was so pure and tender. i loved it. I think your expressions are so honest. they aren't these huge big over the top expressions. they are real and honest. amazing job. really
After the little Waving Through a Window reprise it was pretty flawless :o
He is terrific!!! I like him acting the song!Great voice also.

Bloody hell that piano needs to slow down so he can really feel it and take his time
But this was awesome
This dudes voice is really good, and the pianist was really good too(but I wish they would’ve slowed it down a bit)
"all i ever do is run" gave me chills
an amazing performance, you didn't just hit the notes, you made the movements natural and real. Phenomenal really.
omg omg omg WHAT JUST HAPPENED TO MY EYES AND EARS...i think i maybe, might have just...fallen in love. wow. your falsetto, belt, vibrato, your decrescendo at 4:13...actual perfection
Your vibrato is what MT dreams are made of 😍 this is beautiful
Excuse me, I am thirty minutes in and just by the utterance of the first notes- I am on the verge of tears. Who said that you were allowed to do that to my heart?
How many times did you have to watch this to be 30 minutes in 😅
LITERALLY ME
This is what happens when the pianist thinks he's the most important person in the room.

That pianist really thinks he's doing a solo here he's doing his own thing not even listening to the singer wth is that
