It's like ya'll read my mind. Definitely need this session to work on my distancing technique. Making preparations for a boxing match🥊🥊. Keep up the great content 🇯🇲
Yeah but if you put your weight on your back leg if you were to get hit with a power shot wouldn’t you get knocked down easier since your weight isn’t balanced
No because most of the weight is already on your back foot so you will catch yourself depending on your chin strength. Most of the time a boxer that has his weight mostly on his backfoot has been RARE to see get knocked down I mean look at mayweather, crawford, shakur, jaron ennis the list can go on. Its really just all about slippin and parrying if your gonna be in that type of stance where your weights on your back foot its NECESSARY to incorporate slipping and parrying EVERYDAY
As opposed to MMA? Yes, that's definitely correct, we were in the context of boxing (that's all I'm qualified to instruct on). But it def doesn't hurt to be familiar with what works in boxing for MMA, don't you think? There are bits and pieces that many fighters have taken from boxing and applied to MMA.
Watch Ilia Topuria, his boxing compliments his ground game very much. His only kryptonite is a kicker, but it's still hard to beat him coz he counters very well.

Well you still managed to block it at close range, I don't see a difference if you're further back.
