  • Space in striking is super important. No matter the opponent, you need to be able to maintain and close the distance when necessary-it might even win you the fight! Besides, you look super cool when you hit and don’t get hit.

1:00 this is a super important detail here. He slips the punch WHILE stepping diagonally forward (45°) to cover distance. Especially important for shorter fighters.
You do not want to slip and step backwards, because then you gained nothing except not getting hit.
Took me a while to have the courage and step inti a bigger opponents punches, but in infight they are in a disadvantage

Great content Cory, I have just subscribed and will recommend the channel to my training partners. Could you please do a video on how to maximise southpaw advantages against orthodox fighters and perhaps how to keep orthodox opponents guessing with stance switches into orthodox from southpaw? Really appreciate you sharing this very insightful knowledge, wishing you a speedy recovery champ.

Yo, wanted to let you know the “example curriculum” section on the website has the time stamps out of order/typos on it. Might give people the impression the courses are shorter than they really are!
Edit: Realized that those are video lengths, not time stamps. Damn that’s a lot of content!

It was a boring fight, even Sandhagen can probably agree. If he didn't tear his tricep, doubt the fight would've looked like that. But the fact that he could get the W with that type of injury just shows the caliber of person and fighter he is.

Tbf, I was only interested bc I'm training and I like to watch fights like film, to study technique etc. As pure entertainment, I probably would've found it pretty boring.
That being said, I appreciate a fighter using their skills to win more than one who will take unnecessary risks just to be entertaining
