Great topic as a mother of two young daugthers yet to reach their teens by the will of Allah this is golden advice. I pray Allah gives all those who have been blessed with daughters the ability to raise confident, erudite, intelligent and independent young women who will go on to serve the Deen and become a beacon of their communities. Ameen

A most important yet beautiful discourse which I appreciate as my daughter Qurratul-Ain is soon turning 13 InshaAllah. May I be able to make proper tarbiyat of her through the guidance of my Rabb. Ameen

So as a transgender Muslim (I know don't @me) I'm in a unique space where I was exposed to both masculinity and femininity. So for instance as a guy I never understood makeup etc my thoughts were if it works (I don't smell and my hair isn't greasy I'm good) and a lot of trans women get tossed into this world where they are exposed to makeup etc and confused. At first I went more hard core into my body shaving my legs meticulously getting rid of my beard (despite having laser hair removal killing 90%of it) and like applying lipstick and eyeshadow. But like I would see my blue lips and think wow these suck but I felt this is what women do. It took me forever to accept that how I look is up to me. What makes it hard though for trans people especially is people do not understand that we transitioned when we don't wear makeup like if I don't cover my stubble people will think I'm a man in a dress. And yes this is toxic and hurts many people especially trans people. Body image issues are higher among the lgbt community. Part of the issue is society treats female stubble as oh that person is a man etc. Trust me even today and I've been out of the closet for 6 years I still feel awful about my body.
