    I get that completely, I too get lost in my own world sometimes climbing for quite some time and I don't want it to end! Honestly it is a privilege just to have a chance at following you along through all the highs and lows, the countless times of sorrow and doubt and the sudden resurgence when you feel on top of the world. You are strong, profound and managed to wrap up yet another impressive effort! 😄🌝🎗

    Can't say it enough; your videos are so inspiring. Just love the happiness you project when riding a bike, which is the exact reason why I ride, pure and simple joy. And by the way.... where you live and ride couldn't be more beautiful. I wish I could ride those roads one day. Congrats. It's always a pleasure to watch your vids.... but this one really hit it out of the park. So envious (but in a good sense). Keep on riding.

    Hi there Katie and the plethora of other riders here...
    Looking or advice here. Been on a major weight loss journey through better food and cycling. (Thanks for the inspiration by they way) My goal for this summer is the imperial century. Have done the metric century on my road bike and also on a fully loaded touring bike with panniers front and rear. The road bike ride was much easier but felt shattered after the touring bike ride. Understandable with the panniers on. The road bike ride was pretty unplanned as I only intended a 65km ride. But felt fine after a 50km ride so I kept going.
    My question is after riding a bit over a 100km ride, and felt fine but a bit tired, how large increases in distance should I plan to ride incrementally to reach the imperial century? Should I go for next 130km or just a 115km? What is the recommended increments to add distances to your rides?
    Thanks in advance...

    • @KatieKookaburra
      @KatieKookaburra  3 роки тому +1

      Well the loaded bike makes it SO much tougher. I learned this exact thing last year doing 330km which I had done a fair few times before on a road bike.But loaded up took SO much longer. In terms of how to increase it, go for whatever you feel comfortable with. After 100km it's more about just keeping hydrated and fuelled. Another 30km is around 1-2 hours longer so just plan extra food for that. Add in a stop, and you WILL do it! :) One way to give you motivation is plan to ride 130km TO somewhere, so a friend's house, a beach, etc. Then you have a point to it :) It will help with motivation for sure!

      @@KatieKookaburra yes, my goal is 159k and is end location my previous home and friend I have, lived with. So is, indeed very inspiring to have it as goal. Good to make ur goals visits, to friends of special location. I went with bad fitted bike to collect new saddle and bike fit 70k so was soo exited to get there

    You don’t have to make an excuse. I do talk in myself on the bike, at home too. Also say hallo to all animals on my way. Its not that strange.
