Hey Clint. Unfortunately the outfit I purchased my performance parts from is no longer in business (Patricks Stovebolt Parts) and I haven't researched any other sources. I'm running what he advertised as a 3/4 race cam. Many folks will dispute this terminology but thats the term he used so I also use it. Another way to refer to it is a "264" cam which is the exhaust duration. Here's a list of the spec's he advertised and you may be able to use them in a search: Patricks cam spec's: Stock 261/Corvette cam: I = 244, E = 244, lift .414 a) Patrick's "3/4 mild": I = 245, E = 256, lift .425 b) Patrick's "3/4": I = 252, E = 264, lift .436 c) Patrick's "3/4 rumpy": I = 277, E = 270, lift .436 I'm currently running the (b) grind 3/4 cam. Good luck Dave
Chevrolet offered 3:73 gears as an option, but never advertised them. Might want to install that gear set. Give you better cruising than 4:11, but still short enough to give you good lugging power.
Hey Blake, yes I'm running exhaust heat from each header to the preheat plate under the intake manifold. It works better than not having heat but no where near as well as the stock setup does. I'm told plumbing hot water would work better but I just let it warm up alittle longer and it's good to go.
Hi Dave, happy Easter my brother, I haven’t had a lot of time for the Tube lately but I have wanted to watch your video as usual I’m watching it in three parts, you do such a great job of explaining everything, it’s nice to know our Astronauts are safe up here as long as they don’t forget the duct- tape, I even have some pretty blue, lol, have you ever done the research on the gear racial between your three speed and my 4 on the floor w/ granny, I can’t imagine going over about 45 and that seems to be pushing it seems like 35 is where it cruises, I am getting some new stickers with the revised name I will get one off to you, have a great day my good friend 😆oh yeah(edited) don’t eat to many honey buns while I gone fishing ha ha
Happy Easter to you and your family Mike. Just got in from an excellent service. Had a packed house. Lots of people wanting to to worship and give thanks to JESUS.... I believe the gear ratio's are the same except for your 1st granny gear. The mod's I did to my 235 plus the fact that it's still somewhat fresh are the main reasons I can run it 2K to 2.5K rpm and it sounds like a singer sewing machine. At 3K rpm it's starting to get loud and at 4K rpm it's sounding like it's going to jump out of the engine compartment, LOL..... Hope all is well with you & your's, don't forget to let us know when you start sea duty.
@@Volfandt yes Dave praise Jesus, I will take some video running up the inside passage, and some fishing too, also I am heading to our place in Eastern Washington to turn on the irrigation this week, and the 55 gets it seat back, hope it looks nice in there😀😀
Whoa whoa whoa"" whole up whole up!? Now we all know That All of your videos are great but let's not jump to conclusions and overlook That' warm cup of coffee ☕ you walked in with at The beginning of your video?? LoL how's it going brother? Nice to see you still putting Them out 👍
Thanks for watching. Those 261's are great engines. You'll need to go with a hotter cam inorder to get the most out of dual carbs. what you might try is to go with a bigger main jet to better take advantage of the better breathing your dual exhaust gives ya. Have a good 'un.
They're Carter Weber 32/32 progressive 2bbl carbs with electric chokes. They are also called Motorcraft 740, Holley 740 and Weber 32 DFT. I believe they are getting harder to find and some folks went to Carter Weber 32/34's with good performance. So far I'm very happy with them.
awesome truck. I would love to build one up like that!
👍
Nice detailed explanation. Thanks for sharing your knowledge
Thanks for watching David
Awesome video and very informative. I'm curious as to where I might find the cam you used in your build. Thanks in advance.

Are you running heat from the exhaust manifold to the intake manifold, or are you using water coolant from the radiator system?

What air filters are you using. I am trying to find replacements for my 53 Chevy 3100 with a 235 steadmaster with the dual carb.
I haven't had to replace mine yet. Meadure your old filters height and diameter and go to Wix web site to match. Good luck
Enjoyed your video..I look at all inliner stuff..am running stock 261 engines with dual exhausts..no dual carbs.. yet.
