M'av's set is amazing, I ran a full m'avs on a freezing/exploding arrow bowazon in season 1 hardcore ladder. It was so cheap to make, and I was able to farm anywhere in the game w/o sunder charms safely on a character with max res.
Love your videos and your knowledge about Bowazons. On a side note, I'm playing with a Full Mav's Hybrid Fire+Ice, and while it's tough to juggle between skills to deal with immunities, you don't really need Sunder because there's no monster you can't kill (Build has Fire, Cold and Physical damage via Strafe + Merc). However, hybrids have AR issues because the bonuses in Full Mav are scant compared to Faith, and you have no spare points to invest in Penetrate - I solved it out of sorts with Demon Limb prebuff (lasts 11 minutes, and you can use Ort + chips to recharge it) and a Blessed Aim merc, specially that Penetrate bug was solved. Only bad part of it was my CtA rolled 1 BO, so I have to recast it too often, but other than that works like a charm.
Full mavinas is super solid only for the cold bowazon. Any other build, multishot, strafe, dual cold/fire, it doesn't hold up and you're better off with another one of Bowa's recommendations.
So ive actually tested this a bunch this season....Since plague cares about the merc being hit...he really doesnt take all that many hits because everything is frozen all the time so its hard to proc lower resist. Though it happens slightly more often on higher player counts. I found that decrepify from Lawbringer would trigger much more often, and I was using an eth oath as the primary damage weapon. My merc would chew threw enemies quickly, but really I got sick of the mana so I just switched to a2 insight. If i get my mana straigtened out I might think about a reapers toll merc for the same idea. Also I tried the frost/multi split this season and really didnt like it, you're much better off going frost/fire to handle immunes since the same + skills benefit fire, and dont help physical nearly the same. I am really enjoying Arkaines Valor for this build as its an item that rarely gets used. Plus the red color is nice :)
Yep that's right, the chance to proc lower resist sounds much better on paper. I even showed a clip of my merc being surrounded by cows and it still taking a while for it to proc (though he was using a fortitude SA). That's definitely one of the reasons why wizendraw sits firmly at the top of this video's list. I also agree that exploding arrow compliments this kind of build well. The reason I cover a physical fallback here is because it's much easier to spec into, mainly just 1 point into multishot and some points into guided or magic arrow, and dual elemental builds is something I'll cover separately later :)
I fell in love with cold bowa.Just cant find veil my good I farm tower lvl 1,and shank etc 10 days,I change characters farm farm game don't drop me that nightveil.Probably if I ever get drop of jah ,rather make ice then enigma
PvP definitely multishot/guided arrow. Diamond/shadow bow faith is popular if going an enigma based PvP build to allow building up FCR while still hitting max attack speed of 7 frames. For PvM, it's not a straight forward answer, but I would lean towards multishot zon: largest aoe out of all bowazon builds, can farm anywhere even without sunder charm. Build if choice is faith GMB + pride. With this build, every stat point matters, Where as an elemental build can stack vitality to improve her survivability.
I'm currently doing hardcore single player, and I just dropped a cham rune. I'm checking out your videos to see what you have to say about the Mist runeword. It seems like a good freezing/multi shot bow, which I actually really like, I've even made videos on freezing/physical bowazons. Maybe I should hold onto it for a Pride tho.. not sure... Could be a long while before I get a sur and Lo, I just started hardcore single like a month ago...
Mist might be a good one for hardcore in particular with its all res and vitality stats. If it improves your farming speeds and makes you more robust as well, then definitely worth a good consideration!
@@Bowazon I have a Matriarch base for it, but not a GMB. Which do you think it would be best in? I think matriarch would be bet for pure elemental for the attack speed, but would it still be good for physical?
@@Mcbuggler mist in a matriarchal bow is fine - you get 325% Ed _minimum_ , 20% ias and a concentration aura. It will suit quite well as a physical damage fallback option.
What’s the best place to find the Caster / Diadem, Bowa ? I really struggle to even find ‘regular’ Grand Matrons, and have never found a single Diadem 😅?
Diadems and Grand Matron Bows are best found in level 85 areas. Bows have a higher drop rate from archer type monsters (like in the Pit) but high density killing and killing speeds is more important.
So what about the runeword ice? Is that not the top bow for ice maidens? If using sunder charm do you not need infinity or merc? Are you using dual plagues?
This is a top 3 best value, so just focusing on builds that don't cost too much to put together. There's a separate video for top late game frost maidens.
Ah yeah, just seen it sorry :) Have a question about mana problems, so I have silkweaves and 15ias Maek jewel in nights wings just like you but always running out of mana. How do we get around this? Do you use strafe or something to get mana back? Also have a dual leech ring and 3ml on gloves. Can’t really fit anymore mana items on my gear but still using pots all the time. Worth putting more into dex? Strafe? Or even multi?
For this one, I do recommend also having some points into energy as well. Having 600+ mana is pretty much needed. Thankfully with elemental bowazons you do have more stat point flexibility as you don't need to dump points into dex like physical bowazons, and vitaility doesn't need to be too high ~900 is ok in my opinion. Is your merc also using infinity or insight?
I’m using the mavina set in my ladder starter. Basically the set, Raven, cats eye and silk weave. Frost maiden builds. I still don’t know what I should do let in the bow, helm and chest or if it’s even worth it. Any advice? Thanks.
If you want to stick with the M'avina set, facets in all 3 pieces is the way to go. You should be able to get 9 frames attack speed with the circlet, amulet (cat's eye or highlord's) and bow, and if using hustle on swap you can get 8 frames attack speed with that setup.
Hustle is a good armour for attack and run/walk speed. If you're not on ladder, then treachery for attack speed, peace for +skills or Que-Hegan's wisdom for +skills and mana sustain are good options.
For this one, valkyrie wing + silkweaves, vipermagi to help resists, 3/20 bow gloves (or something with resists), +2 skills amulet with resists (low Mara's or a rare), razortail, torch/Anni, Harmony on switch.
Never would have guessed that Mavs set would have a use...I think im gonna try it

First char I played through on D2R. Hell was tough but made it through with my Wizendraw!
I never thought Wizendraw would make it, but it makes sense, and I'm glad it did; it has some potential.
I enjoyed using Wizendraw, definitely feels the best overall out of the others at this stage of the game.
Hillarious how youtube misunderstand full Mavinas set to "form of Venus" set... LOL!
It really mucks with my Aussie accent 😅

I need those cold bowa endgame builds! :D
I used the full mavinas set, and it really did the trick until I got the Ice RW. And I looked amazing. 😅
Well done. Ice is top end, enjoy using that one!
