💜💥👉 Hey y'all. Mom did this video a few months ago and we thought it was lost but found it on a memory card. It is for the classic Johnni Marzetti that originated in Ohio. It is one of our family favorites. Hope y'all enjoy and see ya soon back in the camper or on the Farmstead. Love y'all and God Bless. - Greg

Thank you for the recipe. I love Johnny Marzetti and eat it every chance I can, meaning a lot in the cooler months, not June, July and August. I was way little when I first had it, before I remember Chef Boyardi. Thanks again for sharing.

The OG was from the Marzetti family in Columbus Ohio. One was a chef who ran a restaurant in the 20s and 30, now defunct, but the family still produces the famous Cole slaw dressing and salad dressings. That Chef invented Johnny Marzetti which I love.

I grew up on this dish. In rural Maine, it's known as American Chop Suey--it was a staple at every church supper. We always said (and it's true!) it's even better the second night! Thanks for the memories...

I make this dish on a regular basis. My recipe varies slightly in that I use more onion and green pepper, and I also add a grated carrot, a stalk of finely diced celery, and a cup or so of chopped mushrooms. The other variation is that I add a small can of tomato puree to give a litte deeper tomato flavor to the dish.

    Just in time! 👍
I have searched the Internet today for a new stovetop pasta recipe, using simple ingredients on hand.
    I’m having this tonight!!!
It’s HOT in Georgia & I refuse to use my oven in summer.
    Thanks!

My Aunt used to make this all the time and she just called it Poor Man's Goulash. I still make it all the time. You can add cheese to it and it's even better. A good Parmesan mix. I try to do recipes on my channel, but I don't have anyone helping me with camera work. I like your Mom's take on things.

I have made this over the years, a family favorite. I have 2 versions, the first like yours with Italian seasoning and mine has a lot of garlic, and the other is the same base and swap the Italian for a couple of tablespoons of chili powder. I make my own chili powder from a Emeril recipe that is probably over 20 years old! I am sure store bought would be much the same and it kind of is similar to what people call Chili Mac. Thanks Ms. Vera! Another great idea in this heat to not turn on the oven! 🌹❤

Nice job, we love seeing Mom cook. I grew up eating this and then raised 3 boys on it, my Mom just called it "macaroni" but it was exactly as you just made. Thanks Vera.

I have not heard of a Johnnie Marzetti recipe and had to look it up online for more info. Hey, I'm a foreigner. 🤷‍♂😋
This one is awesome and the family will love it. Thanks very much to yourself and of course, your mother.
    All the best mate.

Oooooo, I love the flavor of tomatoes, green pepper and onions! I think I would add fresh garlic, too. Yummy!!! Aren't you so happy for Greg?! His dreams are coming true. It seems like a little piece of paradise with a good amount of elbow grease!

This is how I make mine but I also add tomato juice. I'm originally from southern Ohio too. This is such a good thing to have when you're wanting comfort food. Also a fast meal to throw together! And of course, corn bread to go along with it ! Delicious!

I know it is Johnny marzetti too! Of course I've been from Ohio all my life and I know there was a marzetti's restaurant early on not just the dressings and stuff and I think the original recipe came from the restaurant I think it was dolled up a little more than that but I've made it all kinds of ways and whether it's American goulash or Johnny marzetti it's still good

We would call that American goulash. Johnny Marr Zeddie was baked with long noodles in the oven.

I would consider this to be Goulash. My Johnnie Marzetti recipe is a casserole baked in the oven different than this. Amazing how many recipes are called Johnnie Marzetti & vary greatly but all are good I think.

      It is in the description
      Ingredients:
      1 pound ground beef
      1/2 small onion chopped
      1/2 gree pepper chopped small
1 (14.5oz) can stewed tomatoes mashed with hands
      1 (14.5oz) can diced tomatoes
      8 cups water
      1 box (16oz) macaroni
      salt and pepper to taste
      1/2 teaspoon basil
      1/2 teaspoon oregano
      1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
      1 tablespoon parsley
1 can spaghetti sauce (traditional works best)
Combine ground beef, onion, green pepper, salt and pepper and brown in a skillet until meat is browned or onions and peppers are tender. (drain fat)
Add salt, pepper and spices and set aside.
In a large saucepan bring the water to a boil and add macaroni and cook just to the point of tenderness. (7-8 minutes) and drain and add to meat mixture.
Add can of stewed tomatoes and diced tomatoes to the meat mixture and cook 5-6 minutes. Add in the spaghetti sauce and simmer on low for 15 minutes. stir often.
You can top with finely shredded cheddar or mozzarella cheese if you like.
