You probably should have mentioned that you didn’t skate them “stock” you added risers to a 55mm tall truck, altering the geometry. I’m riding these new lurpivs right now and I’m finding them more stable than ace.
Hi this is caleb from the vid. The previous lurpivs had some sort of king pin system that im not too familiar with but apparently then king pin kept falling out causing the trucks to collapse. These dont have that problem!
The pair I had, which cost $90 before international shipping($$), had ill-fitting hardware that constantly loosened. I did one wheel change at a crusty spot. Afterwards the nuts did not want to go back on without stripping themselves (?). A standard skate key also did not fit over the nuts for some reason so I had to use other tools to even do any of this. After my kingpin fell off for like the third time I just said F it and gave up on them. Worst trucks ever when it came to fit and finish but the turning was sick, as was the anti-wheelbite thing.
I’m thinking about getting these and putting the hangers on the indy inverted kingpin bases, I can’t skate non inverted anymore. Do you think this would work?
You could probably get it to smoosh together, but the geometry is different between the trucks, so who knows how well the franken-truck will turn. 🤷♂️ If you try it let us know how it goes! - Tim
The kingpin on the original was inverted and kept falling out so they decided to simplify it with the traditional kingpin. Idk about adding more clearance
Caleb was skating 57mm Spitfire Lock-In wheels in the video. He also didn't tighten the trucks at all from the manufacturer, so they were pretty loose. 👍 - Tim
I think most riser brands will fit on these just fine, but obviously I haven't tried every brand to see if they all line up perfectly. In the video he used ACE risers and they fit just fine. As for the thickness of riser, it depends on how big of wheels you want to ride. The trucks are 55mm tall, which is the same height as Independent trucks. I'd suggest that if you want to skate wheels that are 56mm or above, then some 1/8th inch risers would be helpful. If you go above 60mm then 1/4 inch risers. I hope that answers your question! 👍🛹 - Tim
Have you ever skated venture v hollow highs? They are the same height as the standard indy mids but the bushings blow out way to quick and they dont sell direct replacements, and every other bushing makes them feel very foreign to me. I'm about to pull the trigger on some 144 mids I'm just curious about the inverted kingpins, If they really work as advertised. The ventures are great trucks and actually have a pretty decent turn to them, they are just too light, the axles are too long so the threads get bent way out of shape, and they don't feel good with any other bushing besides what come stock with them. I just worry about that kingpin on the mindys.
"They look almost futuristic".
But they look like 1979 big stage 1 INDYS.
They are beautiful.

By 'stock' he meant that he did not tighten or loosen the kingpin nut from how it came out of the packaging. - Tim
Next time don't use axle nuts, like a real man.
Ok dad.
Ace classic or AF1? I find classics more turny
what was the issue of he former lurpiv that they "improved on" and how did they address it ?
they had inverted kingpins that kept loosening over time and the truck would eventually fall apart

They would fall apart lmao
They also used Swedish sizing and a weird non standard kingpin that was only replaceable with a Lurpiv specific one. They were a bit of a nightmare.

I bet these would look pretty sharp with spitfire tablet wheels

I know that guy!
Whats with the price tag being so high
Cool and great style, but in the future they need to fix more kingpin cleareance or invert kingpin technology.

They did inverted the first time around, and like most inverted kingpin trucks before them, it failed.
Has anyone tried putting bones bushings in these?? How was the result
what size wheels do you run?
the trucks are tall, plus you had risers, and they have the anti-wheelbite tech but u were still getting wheelbite?!?

Wish they made a 9.75” or 10” it would be an instant buy for me
Yes I agree! C'mon Lurpiv, we're waiting...
my question is which risers would you suggest?

Was these the hollows or the solids? i’ve always been a more solid truck rather then hollow skater and i see that alot of places have both available
The set he was skating in the video were the solid axle/kingpin version. 👍 - Tim
Do they bring your wb in or extend your wb?
Ben Degros can't keep getting away with this!!!!
@@galvanizedgnome😊
Same as indy
The original Lurpivs added around 3.1 inches to the deck wheelbase. Assuming they didn’t fuck anything too much it should be the same
ugly I don't like.. thunder so beautiful shape. i ride thuder titaniums
Thank ya buddy😎
However, I love my Mindy's! They are heavy metal, but I like my trucks BTG
