    Riding my first set of slappy’s now. Really enjoying them so far. I’m 230 lbs are they are better than my independents. Really glad my local shop suggested them.

    Been skating my Slappy's for the past month. I'm impressed! I haven't gotten wheel bite once. But I haven't done drops or stairs in a long time. Mostly flat ground and ledges are my thing now. But with kruxs I would usually get wheel bite pretty bad. Slappy's are legit best trucks I've ever owned.

      whats sad is id rather skate the stock stage 4/bushings, than a XI with a cylinder bottom bushing. I got too used to the stage 9/X turn/lean. The 6.1 ventures and my 159 stage X are the same height but the ventures will bite with 53mm..and i can run 56mm with the indys w.o risers. I definitely like having at least 1 shaped board 8.75-9.1 with no risers...so it looks like slappys will be the truck to try out for that specific setup. I like that setup for park skating or a park that has a decent flatbar/euro setup. IDK i stepped down from 8.75 to try 144 mids and 146 stage IV but...i doubt ill ever ride a smaller hanger unless i try out a short wb/popsicle for a setup oriented towards a larger bag of tricks...in reality being able to go wall to wall, airs etc....and a larger hanger for locking into grinds...doesnt seem like a worthy trade off for having more flip tricks/switch tricks on a pyrmiad or etc.

      aces are too expensive for me... i want a 91 or 92a top bushing and a 92a-94a bottom bushing and thats like their AF1 price+a bushing set its much more expensive than slappys/indys with an indy conical bushing kit. Plus i would prefer the hard ace "low" bushing for my top bushing bc its closer to the indy/conical top bushing height...just to keep the turn to stability ratio where im used to. Slappy IKP is the same price as their normal trucks too....but the clearance looks pretty good so i think i might get a 8.75" hollow tbh, Ive been looking for a proper stage X replacement and the lighter weight looks like it will help as i get older/skate less. IDK i dont like how aces make you put your feet so close or your front foot mid board when kicking/trying to gain massive speed. Ive grown to even like ventures for their wider foot placement makes me have to bend my knees less, but a lot more wear and tear on my hip/back soreness after a couple long sessions/slams. Though you also get to lean forward a lot more with ventures at high speeds/transition/transfers etc. Tried indy mids very heavy...and i dont like the swap indy made back to a cylinder bushing out of the box swap for me. Slappys look like theyre ready to run out of the box which is a nice plus since ventures need risers to not bite....or bones-hard bushings at the cost of turning

    Damn they are great at everything I like, the only thing I'm not super into is the light thing, my perspective on it is the following, you need super light trucks when you're a beginner or you maxed out your height for tricks, it helps when you can't do any flip tricks and it helps to squeeze an extra flip once you mastered the basics, other than that is just preference more than being helpful.

    Ordered a set of the 9.0s, was hyped by the no wheelbite claim. Maybe it's because I got the 9s, not 8.5s, but these things wheelbite so bad. And if you look at the bushings while turning on these, especially the roadside, they are getting absolutely kranked and deformed out of their seats if you try and carve. Looks like they will absolutely chew threw bushings the way its set up.
    Tried a ton of different bushing options, finally found a set that worked alright with them and jumped on a curb I've been slappying for the longest time, and came to a half fast af. Maybe I've just been spoiled by the mag lights, but I wasn't impressed at all by these trucks. Not by the turn, not by their 'lack of wheelbite', and definitely not for their ability to slappy. Got an hour in and swapped back to my tensors.
    Mag lights, best slappy trucks hands down.

    rad! I love that they have the trucks measured/labeled the same as deck width. I'm sure there are some (lame) technical reasons trucks are measured the way they are, but it's pretty annoying. Love the high grind clearance. Destructo trucks also have great grind/kingpin clearance- love them. Great review/content as usual

    • @Mardinovic
      @Mardinovic 11 місяців тому +4

      i've been riding Thunders for over 10 years i'd say and just few months ago i switched to Slappy trucks cause i just started skating curbs but i did learned some slappy tricks while still riding Thunder Hollow lights. few differences between the two brands. popping wise of course Thunders are quicker because they are much lower even the Standard ones. pinching wise not that i'ved noticed much but Slappy definitely has little more room for error specially on feebles/smiths tricks because of the higher kingpin clearance. even higher clearance on their Inverted kingpins. weight wise, yeah Slappys are heavy as fuck. haha

    Hmmm i wonder how light they really are compared to something like stage 11s of the same size... I really wish they were a little bit less tall since they are pretty much 54mm axle height. @@BLVCKSEA respect! I think it has something to do with the interlock bushing shape (check it out) they feel springier. Slappy are the Worst trucks I have ever ridden and I'm not joking if you buy them don't buy the inverted kingpin because in my couple of months of skating them they have unscrewed themselves more then 10 times and the whole truck fell apart in peices. Several of those times I ate it because everything but the baseplate fell off. And the pivot cup constantly is getting destroyed because the metal around the baseplate bends!!! Having you to replace them every month and the bushings tear up within the first day for me at least. I have a huge bruise on my butt because of these trucks from unscrewing even if i tighten them to where you can't even move they will become loose by the end of the Sesh. I would rate them 1/10 do not buy
