"Infinite" holds a special place in Eminem's discography as it marks his earliest foray into the music industry. The song was released in 1996 as the title track of Eminem's debut studio album, also titled "Infinite." At the time, Eminem, then known as Marshall Mathers, was an aspiring rapper struggling to gain recognition in Detroit's underground hip-hop scene.
"Infinite" showcased Eminem's lyrical prowess, complex rhyme schemes, and introspective storytelling. The track features a jazzy, laid-back beat produced by Mr. Porter, which served as a backdrop for Eminem's introspective verses.
Despite its critical acclaim, "Infinite" failed to achieve commercial success upon its release. Eminem's unique style and lyrical content didn't resonate with mainstream audiences at the time, and the album received limited attention outside of Detroit's underground hip-hop circles.
However, "Infinite" laid the groundwork for Eminem's future success. The album caught the attention of Dr. Dre, who was impressed by Eminem's talent and signed him to his record label, Aftermath Entertainment, in 1998. This partnership led to the release of Eminem's breakthrough album, "The Slim Shady LP," in 1999, which catapulted him to mainstream fame and established him as one of the most influential rappers of his generation.
The 'Imitator intimidator, stimulator, simulator of data, eliminator' makes perfect sense and isn't pointless rhyming. He's saying he intimidates people that imitate rap styles, stimulates people with his songs and I always took the simulator of data to mean he's capable of taking in all forms of rap and simulating it into his own. Eliminator is straight forward, elimates other rappers.
He's saying he intimidates people that try to imitate HIM. Plus I think there shouldn't be a comma in "simulator of data eliminator" and it basically means the same thing as the first two words. Biting was a huge theme for Eminem at the time. He talks about it in multiple songs on the album and he even had a whole song about it earlier - Biterphobia. It's ironic that Em was accused of biting other rappers on this album.
He's just rhyming 🙄
I’m not gonna say you’re reaching, because words do got definitions, but even if he put in that thought and meant it, it’s still incoherent
It's far more likely he did it on purpose than threw random rhyming words together that happen to make sense when you just apply their definitions. I'm used to oldschool rap that does that stuff so it's not incoherent to me.@@ninjireal
Ruthless type sh*t
The common denominator that connects Nas and Eminem is their affinity for Kool G Rap, his story telling, lyricism, and alter ego
Yep G Rap and Masta Ace influence is massive here.
Kool G Rao influenced almost every hardcore rapper.
@@vredelingand still going hard. Check out his collab album with 38 speak, Son of G rap
@@malikaveli Been listening to that bro. Him and Rakim should pop up on the channel in the future I guess, right? That's like the foundation..
And Big Daddy Kane.
I was thinking the same thing Kool G Rap was the rapper that came to my mind when hearing this.
You should listen to the original Infinite, but you can't find it on Spotify. This was a remix of the original Infinite track.
The whole album 'Infinite' (That you can find on UA-cam) is great, especially 'Open mic', 'Tonite' and 'Its OK'.
The original Infinite track is way deeper and spacey so give it a listen.
I agree the Original is much better
Yeah if they ever react to the full album for Infinite hopefully they do the one with all the original beats, this one threw me off.
Is that what it is? I thought it sounded different then I last heard it.
agreed, the og infinite is just a timeless classic. Really gives extra oomph with the drumkick and snare!
I love this album. "It's Ok" is a masterpiece.
It's a broke day but everything is ok, I'm up all night but everything is alright..
It’s a long week and I don’t get enough sleep
Sing For the Moment!! Whats the hold up?? That 3rd verse 😵😵
Yesss. I’ve been asking for this one!!!!
no apologies is one of my fav em songs and not many people know about it.
This album is way more laid back than others. And you should definitely check it out.
Please cover “The Eminem Show” album. Or “The Marshall Mathers LP”. You guys are great at what you do. I love to see fathers and sons connect.
Yessir the multi syllabic rhymes the delivery in this song is fucking crazy !! Classic !
It's a dope track, and a classic album imo. And yet, he's so much better as a technical rapper now today than he was back then.
Finally a new Eminem reaction. I’ve been waiting for this. Also, the next time you guys react to EN you guys should react to.Hailie song or I think my dad‘s gone crazy
Please do Open Mic and 313 also from the Infinite mixtape, the bars on those tracks are WILD showing Em's early raw talent and potential (they are not on spotify but on youtube / soundcloud /etc )
Eminem sounded so much like Nas and Az
i like how ur intros are light welcomes rather than loud music with flashing graphics. makes for a nice relaxing watch.
The original album is my favourite, I had the bootleg back in the day, no idea where it is now but I think about it sometimes. You should try and find it for your father, and yourself.
Probably my favourite Eminem album. Back nearly 25 years ago when it wasn't anywhere near as easy to access this era of Eminem I remember downloading it and being blown away. Just yesterday I sat in the garden and had it on with a bottle of wine. Looking forward to your dad's thoughts on this one. Thanks again guys!
Ah nooooo! It’s the overproduced updated version 😭
@@andrewmalcolm5972exactly the same thought. Not as grimy :/
btw its not the original track, its a remix by F.B.T. original one had a more Eminem-like beat imo. this remix makes it sound more like Nas as it was mentioned in the video
i was so confused by the beat
Bad Meets Evil!!! It's Eminem and Royce Da 5'9"s album later on!!!! SOO SICK!! You guys'll like it alot
When I was a 10 year old little white kid ('96-97), living in N Az, I somehow acquired a burnt CD of this album. No idea if it was an original or a copy... But I still have it, something of a prized posession. Was already a hip hop head at heart, but this album and Em, absolutely solidified its being a core part of my upbringing. Hope you can find the original versions.
Tonight is my favorite song of the Album
One of his best albums. Would love to see the full reaction.
You should definitely do more tracks off this album. Never 2 far and it’s ok are great.
A lot of dope tracks, 313, Tonite, It's Ok, Searchin', Open Mic, etc.
@@CtRAIN77 I love the whole album. Just figured I’d name a couple.
@johnswick7108 I know. I'm just sayin'
He's not as angry because the slim shady personality hadn't been invented yet. It was this album that D12 all came up with alter egos and became more aggressive
Yeahp! Detroit Horrorcore had yet to fully take off and distinguish itself from NYC Proto-Horrorcore i.e Big L and his crew
Awesome. Thanks for sharing this with your dad. This shows how clever and intricate Eminem has been from the very start. Em sounds about twelve on this - how cool would it be if he made a Vol.2 of this…
Damn caught this just as it uploaded but I thought you were gonna do the whole album!
That would be 👌🏻
I hope to see y’all listen to some later Em one day. Rap God, Not Afraid, Venom, Godzilla, The Monster, and on and on and on, lol. So much amazing stuff. But if you’re sticking to the old stuff, you’ve got to do Sing for the Moment!
Love your channel, it’s so wholesome to see two generations sharing and appreciating great music together.
I hope you do the whole album at some point. I first heard about this album early 2000s, really interesting to see how Em's style has changed over the years
Em said he got inspiration for this track from AZ's Rather Unique.
12:51 I've always loved that snare bit too haha. Great reaction, you got a new subscriber!
I’m so early! Gassed that you’re reacting to my fave Em song. :) big love from the UK my guys
Always been a banger!
"Miracle lyrical" is what it's called
Lyrical Miracle*
Eminem even clowns it in a cypher
"Lyrical Miracle Spiritual Individual...Subliminal...in your Swimming Pool"
He also clowns it with the homies in a video. You can find it on UA-cam titled something like "Words you can't rhyme anymore"
I looked everywhere for this song on here finally found it. I was going to say you should def cover this track because your dad loves how Em puts words together and this is a great example of it. Infinite is insane
Eminem was able to work with Nas twice, once on the Gods Son album producing The Cross and they collabed both EPMD on the Kings Disease 2
both of you are legends
As a day one Eminem fan this is easily my favorite song of his, ever.
this is one of my favorite Eminem songs! I love this reaction❤
Em sounds like Redman & Treach on this album.
We need more Eminem reactions!
Maybe When I'm Gone, Cleanin' Out My closet, Darkness, Not Afraid, and Love The Way You Lie?
Always great commentary by Kai.
Curious, is DJ Quik high on the to do list?
I love this song dearly! Eminem is that dude, the 🐐
Classic song!!
the team is back 💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥
You got to do the other songs from this you’ll love them
Eminem's greatest influence was probably Redman. He put Redman at the top of his list. If you listen to redman's first two albums, they sound a lot like Em. They're amazing also. Redman really didn't blow up until his fourth album.
Muddy Waters 3rd Album ... And Redman's albums didn't sound like Em... Em's sounded like Red if anything...got it backwards, I think I knew what you meant though.
I love this album
Goated for showing pops infinite
I highly recommend reacting to the whole album, he stays in that same pocket throughout the whole project.
I thought something was a bit off, this track is a remix and not the original.
One of my favorite Eminem albums! He killed this
Finally!!!
YEEEEESSSSS!!!
One of ems best .
Every person thats ever written lyrics have at some point looked up Eminem's first song and found this Masterpiece that should be one the Wonders in the world
Dad has GOT TO react to Eminem - Beautiful…..one of his best tracks
Clear extreme AZ influence
Cartoon is also a famous tatooist who eminem has tatoos from. He references him again on "no apologies"
And i could be wrong but from what ive read the way i am was his first actual beat. I think dre said on that documentary that em wanted to produce and he was asking to do this or that to the music and dre told him youre producing right now
YEESSSS!!
You should get a reaction to the Shady 2.0 cypher
Def would join patreon if you did a few top tracks from the Eminem show.
I would highly recommend you review “yoke the joker” by naughty by nature and “uptown anthem”
You guys gotta react to Eminems "RELAPSE" album. IMO the entire album is overall great. The theme of the album is present from beginning to end. PLEASE give it a listen! Keep up the awesome content, yall, much love from RI!
Love infinite
A good tribute to Proof is “Like Toy Soldiers” by Eminem. Definitely give it a listen.
Rakim is the Big Bang of filling the lines
I love your guys' reactions to Beach House's discography. You should introduce your dad to "Days of Candy" from Depression Cherry. I think it would really resonate. Adore you guys
It’s O.K., Tonite, 313, Maxine, Open Mic, Never 2 Far, Backstabber, Jealously Woes II…. Classic record that was ahead of it’s time and undervalued at the time.
Question. I haven't got a notification for them in while, just checked and they've been posting , Are they only notifying me when they upload Eminem??
13:37 Mr porter Produced the whole Album except 1 Track, Proof was busy at the Hip Hop Shop. Also How about reacting to Eminem's very 1st Track "Eat it" ❤
Pretty sure it was a two brothers, some white guys (not a big deal but pertinent to distinguish them to find them), who tried to move his sound to what was currently "hot", that being NYC hip hop.
@thedappermagician6905 The Bass Brother's?
@@IcuTapIcu there we go!
I thought you were reacting to the album!
you guys gotta do a vid on open mic by eminem
EM THE GOAT
Can we get his reaction to the song sing for the moment I feel like he would love it
Would love if you took your dad through how we worked with Royce Da 5'9" Welcome to Hell the song and the album.
You should check out Royce Da 5'9" -Caterpillar (ft. Eminem and King Green)
🐐
He 100% sounded like AZ back then. Check out "Biterphobia," the b-side to this track... I like it even better
that is NOT the b side to this track
@@ninjireal Not this VERSION of the track, the original one. I could be mistaken but I don't think so
The best Em song ever.
Hey guys, I have a request, Can You Feel Me by Dru Down. Greatest song/album from 1996 in the Bay Area! Thanks keep it up!!
Till I Collapse is a must
They did it last year
OMG!!!!
Definitely Kool G Rap, Nas, AZ, with a little Rakim sprinkled in.
Requesting Detroit vs everybody, or Godzilla, Darkness. Thanks . Curious what your dad thinks.
This is what im trying .. 😂😂
Gahh now I have to listen to low down and dirty
Tonite and its ok are also worth a reaction
Do !!!
!!! Coast Contra - "Disruptive freestyle " !!!
Your welcome 😆
Please do Godzilla next!!🤞🏼🤞🏼 Ooo and Victoria Monet's Goodbye. I think your Dad might dig Goodbye since it has old school Chicago, Doobie Brothers, Christopher Cross vibes 😊 ❤❤
Did they change the infinite instrumental ?
Illmatic lite
313 - pick of the tracks from the album. Punchlines galore
That was cool to watch these father and son reactions. Try a newer Em song like Godzilla. It's just Eminem showing off and it's so good.
Please cover “Fast Lane” with Eminem and Royce da 59
i can hear the nas in this so much
Monsters - James Blunt would be a great song to listen to!
You should play Biterphobia to your dad…now that’s young Eminem and he was doing fast rapping..
It’s OK from the Infinite album is a really good song, way better than just okay lol
Also I think it would be really cool for the sake of comparison to show your dad some of Eminem’s more recent stuff. Zeus would be nice imo
Not the original beat which makes the song more of its time period instead of this new faster beat. But this is Eminem’s best song amd album he made the the LP. 🤘🏻
2093! 2093! 2093!
You gotta start Waka Flocka bro, it’s different but good music
EMINEM VS MGK LETS GO
