now that is a novel idea .. removable top ... and you have a fire pit OR stove ... if you made the legs taller and added a insert box that has 3 walls that fit snug up to the stove and the 4th with a hinged door like an oven ... you would have an oven or warming spot for more cooking options

Food for thought, if you wrap your grill with foil it will save you the hard clean up of your pots and pans. When done cooking put foil in fire, it will burn. Hope this helps! Great video and awesome build, cheers 😃

I really like watching your show , my name is Walter Andrews and myself and Fiancé Sharon both equally love the outdoors like yourself and your family. We are currently living in Fort mcmurray but are retiring back to Bonne Bay Pond this summer. Sharon would be more familiar with some of the areas in your show but I remember the names from recently being there. Myself I am from Francois in the south coast . You did a pretty good job with your stove with the tools you had, I am a sheet metal and HVAC mechanic and I think you did an awesome job. You take life seriously as I can see , you respect the outdoors and I like that , not like some other videos , I’ve. Pretty much watched all your videos so keep them coming . All the best to you and your family, also love the cabin , that’s how a cabin is suppose to be , good job .

Thank you, Skipper, for this very fine tutorial!
This is a project I’ve wanted to learn to do for a while; not only is it very well-made, and well instructed, what is particularly valuable that you did this without welding, using rivets instead, so that the rest of us who don’t have confident, welding skills, can still fabricate it nicely.
I can hardly wait to cook up a scoff on mine, as you’re doing on the original! 😊
ps. It’s a mystery to me, as to why I’m only seeing your videos for the first time now, but you’re up one subscriber.

Great video, I've made a couple of pop rivet tent stove s but never a foldable one really like this and ready to make one. O don't know if you mentioned but anyone that makes one make sure you use stainless steel pop rivets not aluminum, I bought aluminum by accident once and it didn't work out they melted and stretched

I was getting worried you weren't going to brew up a cup.🙂
Pretty slick, my friend, pretty slick. For sure someone with a little welder could make it a little better, but man, with just a couple hand tools, and some tin? Pretty slick.
And I was just looking at portable fire places for using in areas where an open fire isn't a good idea, or to grill when wood is a little scarce.
Only thing I'd add is maybe a small plate for the bottom to spare it from getting burned out. Maybe another piece with a 1/4 fold and holes drilled into it to get a draft under the fire, and spare the bottom. What do you think? And it drafts ok, doesn't let smoke out in the tent?
Oh, yeah, and most importantly, what do you use to go through the tent? Do you have a small double wall section?

The Newfoundland Outsider Yes, for sure. I can see that you made it in a simple way on purpose. I only commented because of the inevitable comments from the "pros" on here.
Sand is a really good idea, if you got it. Here it really depends on where you are. Some places have, some not even a grain. Most places I camp don't have any at all.
This is definitely going to be on a to do list for me. Thanks, I really appreciate the video.
