That means on maps where you have pre-deployed units you have to make sure you always have at least one unit alive at all times. In the series you can build units using financial resources you get every turn (called a Day in-game) and different units cost different amounts. Due to that the deliberately allowed players on maps where there are bo pre-deployed units to go entire turns without making units so save up for a stronger unit as a strategy. Follow so far? The mission Two Week Test you have to hold out for fourteen turns. The enemy had a massive starting advantage and it'd be nearly impossible to beat them conventionally so your only hope is to wait it out and endure the onslaught. However due to how the AI works this is actually really simple. The map has no pre-deployed units. The only units capable of capturing HQs are infantry units who have a short movement distance. The enemy AI will make these units but they'll also build vehicle units like tanks that move much further. The enemy AI will move their vehicles to park on top if your HQ where they cannot capture it and they will not move off of it so their infantry will capture it - the AI just isn't smart enough for that. As a result you can win the mission by doing absolutely nothing. There's examples of this you can look up here on UA-cam.

I found that using a fast character and kart on Toad's Turnpike in MK8 Deluxe using Easy CPU and no items will grant a consistent first place. It's hilarious.
I'm surprised you didn't mention Earthbound. 1.) It has an auto fight option. It probably doesn't work too well on the last boss because that fight is scripted, but it could work on almost any other fight. 2.) Also on the game's Starman Jr. fight at the start of the game, you could just choose to defend which is pretty much the same as doing nothing as the Starman Jr. only uses PSI attacks and Buzz Buzz alternates between using Psychic Shield Sigma to negate his attacks and attacking for you. 3.) Plus there's also a system in the game where if your power is significantly stronger than enemies on the world map, they may run away from you, but if you make contact anyway, you won't enter a battle and instead just get the "YOU WON!" message on map instead and get the XP from the battle. Mother 3 has a similar auto win system where i you start running and you run into an enemy you over power, you'll send them flying in a cartoony style and may even eliminate them when they land. I'm not sure if you get the XP from it as there is no notification about it in the game. I'm not sure if Mother 3 has an auto fight system or not as the battle menu doesn't show commands as words, but icons and I can't remember what each icon was as it has been some time since I played it.
try playing team Kirby clash deluxe without doing anything, the first half of the fight your partners will do just fine, but on the other half, they start doing less and less damage, I have even tested this with fully upgraded sword hero's and it took them almost half the fight to kill colossal waddle dee. the first boss.
You can put the arcade Mario Karts on this list. I've worked arcades with those games and they are awful with how easy they are(same with Raw Thrills arcade games)
Technically Pokemon Quest can't count cause you're manually doing something by moving the cursor to set to auto. But Mario kart 8 and deluxe does count since you're able to set it up before actual gameplay in the kart configuration.

I have two to list: Bomberman can win by doing nothing. Bomberman 2 has a boss called the Breast Fire, a mech powered by Fire Bomber. You can win without attacking at all, since it throws flames that will damage the Breast Fire mech. All Bomberman (you) need to do is dodge the mech & flames. There's also Brain Bomber's mech, the Robo Bomber. Bomberman (you) can literally beat it by running around & tricking it into running into the bomb explosions. A UA-camr called whoisthisgit also did a challenge run where Kirby does nothing at all & has the Helper win all the bosses in the Arena in Kirby Super Star & True Arena in Kirby Super Star Ultra.
Fun fact: Once I played the Fan Game Super Smash Flash 2, and made a battle between a CPU Mario, and a Luigi that couldn't do anything. At the end, both of them were at their last life's, and Mario fell down before Luigi. So Luigi won by doing absolutely nothing.😳
