I love that you are doing a pacer that’s sooo lovely! My partner trains trotters and I have grown to appreciate them so much they are the best horses! There is no reason they can’t be produced for the low levels and the work ethic and temperament that you get makes them worth their limitations...

Your Milo is just like my chestnut tb so many people don’t understand that getting after them just won’t help. So nice too see. Milo makes me chuckle as my boy does. Keep doing what your doing.
Well what do I love most about this video ? Training sweet mares (and other horses) for adoptions, a lovely puppy, Milo's butt muscles, Banksy growing up beautifully and amazingly huge and strong, Milo jumping bridleless as the most natural thing in the world, his new bridle that looks so comfy, your great relation with your mum ... You make a joke about riding him at 7 months old, there’s a lot of trainers that start western pleasure, cutting horses at 18 months which is crazy!
I’m so sad that Standardbred have such a bad reputation. They’re probably the most hard working horses I’ve ever seen, they want to please their rider so much. But their canter is so weak and hard to get. It took me literally 6 years to have a decent canter with my mare. And most people don’t want to wait that much. 6 years is a little extreme, but she’s the worst I’ve seen and I retrained a few ;)
Anyway, all of this to say I’m really happy to see someone with your influence saying nice things about Standardbred:)

Andy StPierre I really struggle with my guy in canter as well. He isn’t a standard bred though.
PITBULLS 4 LIFE canter is a hard gait for any horse I think. Like all of them can do it, but to have a balanced canter is hard!
Andy StPierre yeah I agree. Some horses can do it almost perfectly without any support and it makes me frustrated some days. But it’s okay, I wouldn’t trade my gelding for the world
@@andystpierre6086 Very true! And yeah it's super crazy how for some horses canter just works. And for some it just doesn't and they look very hobbled and stiff while cantering. I guess it must come naturally!

Oh I love standardbred. I have a ex trotter who still struggles to canter. But we just go with it. Super fast trot and still scares me when I just let him go on the beach 😅
