  • Seattle Fire Dept. is responding to a fire near Rainier Ave S and S Walker St and advises the public to avoid the area.

    It seems So many of these fires are in abandoned houses. This is in various parts of the country.

    The only way those hand branches will do any good is to reduce the water pressure so the jet doesn't feather and let it lob over the wall. Sometimes less is pressure is but they certainly need more water on the hot stuff. Must be a mains supply problem. I still firmly believe that a good man in BA at the top of the ladder beats remote control hands down.

    I do not claim to be a fireman or fire expert - but those unmanned towers are sure wasting a lot of water and time.

      It was a defensive strategy, its gonna be time consuming... its also not a waste of water, as at that point they are just trying to keep the building from collapsing, its gonna be a total loss anyway.

    It would appear as if this has turned into a training exercise..... not impressed with where the water was going, at least in the first part of this video.
