What if this person is sly from an alternate dimension (already mentioned in video, just my own spin). His parents were killed so he is motivated by rage and darkness and tracks down the fiendish five. This evil sly has no concept of Honor It does make sense 3 reasons 1). Current sly was orphaned and sad until he met Bentley and Murray. 2). Alternate evil sly was orphaned and never met Bentley and Murray. 3). We already have time travel, why do we need alternative dimensions this is why it could’ve been scrapped.
We think this Dark Sly is a evil version of Sly that comes from a parallel universe where the Coopers where evil thieves and stole from every one, and that version of Sly killed Murray and Bentley from his universe when they failed a heist and became useless, and he used Bentley's remaining technology to detect our Sly in ancient Egypt and decided to replace him to take our Sly's tittle of the best thieve alive.

I pick the possibility of a Outcast Cooper in the fifth game. To me, this scenario makes a lot more sense - since we technically don't know if any of the Coopers before Sly had more than one kid or not. Not to mention, this Outcast could also be the one who rebuilds Clockwerk after his body was destroyed in Sly 2, as an act of revenge against his/her family. And eventually facing off against Sly himself.

has anyone stopped to question how the Cooper line's been around for so long? Seriously if the danger of stealing from criminals wasn't enough to at least cut one of their crime sprees short then perhaps the fact that in sly 4 until Sly showed up Tennessee Kid was literally going to be hanged which I can definitely say that's at least a little dark.

I like the idea of an outcast member of the family who decided to follow a darker path. To add more darkness to it maybe also a scenario where this mysterious guy helped clockwork to kill the cooper family with the intention to kill off every last cooper family member in order to become the last of his kind (or maybe out of revenge?). However since sly escaped the mysterious racoon travelled in time to find sly and finish him off.
I have a theory... a GAME THEORY (sorry it had to be done) that what we're looking at is the reason the Cooper's adopted the "Master Thief's only steal from master criminals" philosophy. Okay picture this, we know that Slytenkahmun(forgive the misspell) wasn't the first thief in the Cooper family because Bob. Now let's say one of the family members who's name has long since been stricken from the Cooper family tree for his dishonor was too greedy and stole from anyone and everything: noble people, charities, orphans, the disabled, that guy who rings the bell in front of Walmarts (okay the last one's just for fun) until one day he does something horrible. In a botched robbery attempt or perhaps even on purpose he tries to steal from family member, and for this he was defeated by his own family, like slytunkahmun I or Sly and is forced to flee. In this humiliation this Cooper wants revenge and so pledges to wipe out the Cooper line, dawning on armor and replacing the parts of his body to another creature of the night, except a hunter; a killer. Thus Clockwork the Owl's born out of hate. One quick note I know that Clockwork was fleshy at one point so it can't make sense, well I'll tell ya know nothing about clockwork makes sense, hate somehow keeping him alive, he somehow being able to survive with all those years while starting his revenge on the Cooper line way back in slytunkahmun's day and why all his his macine parts seemingly wither away within moments of the Hate Chip being destroyed while it survived rather intactly in FREAKING LAVA twice. Anyways perhaps this could be explained by some sorta ye olde voodoo curse he cast on himself which tied himself to a horcrux-like object(s) at the cost of his soul and basic emotions save that which would drive him for revenge. Meanwhile the Cooper tradition was put in place so that another Cooper like "Cooper ?" will ever come again... whaddya think, it's long I know and probably has more holes than the earth, but it does sound epic right? I'll try to tweak it a bit.

This is one long comment! -- Edit(s): · Ironically, in one of the two comic books, *Carmelita* said something about Sly *"stealing from the common man,"* as she put it, during which Sly paid her an unexpected visit. But we all know that the *Cooper Clan,* being a family line of master thieves, only steal from lower-ranking thieves and other common crooks, even higher-ranking master criminals. But, try as they might, none of those guys would even come close compared to any of the Cooper descendants over the centuries.
My personal take on this is that Dark Sly would be Detective Winthorp from the comics. After having enough of Sly being with Carmelita, Winthorp decided do some working out and Parkour training, and ten dawned this Dark Cooper persona to try and ruin Sly's reputation.
You know how some of the coopers were actually women? Well maybe this "dark sly" was a raccoon that became husband with one of the women coopers and gained all the skills from reading the thevius raccoonus and got a cane personalized for him
this version of sly lost bentley and murray at an early age and became a much darker and less merciful not allowing anybody to get away and becoming the only being that clockwerk genuinely fears
I think what will happen in sly 5 is that after sly escapes and marries carmileta and they have a kid, 15 years later sly get a bit dark inside and the game gets a new playable character, sly's son who has supernatural powers unlike his parents, the villain is an evil wizard plans to kill all of sly's ansesters by killing bob so the other coopers will not exist and the gang stops him but the end will reveal that in anchent Egypt that clockwork puts a hate chip in his brain and took over his body completely and gains supernatural powers like sly's son and in sly 6 the main character is sly's son and he gain all the abilities his dada got so he can save the world and his dad, and at the end he fights clockwork in his dads body and it is a battle of equals and sly gets the determination to destroy the hate chip in his brain to finish clockwork for good and sly's son at the end becomes a cop by day, and master teift by night
hey vivi, great video once again. The idea of a family member that got left out is the best one for me. it sounds so sly-ish. I think that is actually an idea that can be worked out.
What if (going back to the alternate dimensions idea) dark sly is a alternate dimension Cooper where the coopers and clock werk switched places. Coopers falling short of clock werk and since a Cooper would be robotic and consumed with hate and jealousy like clock werk normally, he could see sly and hate him jealous of his success and such and could even end up with the 2 forming a good guy bad guy alliance to finish off Slys clock werk since I'm sure both coopers don't like him.
Apart from the fact that the character doesn't look robotic, who knows what goes on in that other dimension. We could also talk about an opposite gang, where they simply rob and hurt anyone who comes in their way. This guy finidng Sly and becoming jealous is another scenario yes :), thanks for sharing!
This or perhaps a dimension where this may be Sly after his parents were killed and under the possibility that he was kidnapped or he ran away, growing up consumed with hatred and isolation. I mean, if they could make time traveling possible, then they could very well make other dimensions possible
Honestly, these all sound like awesome ideas to base a new story upon. Ho boy...which to choose as my favourite? Well, maybe the alternate dimension -- that seems to be the most open-ended, so to speak. It would provide a limitless number of storytelling options.
Penelope helped gently to build the time machine. So Penelope is smart, maybe she turned against them for some reason by making a fake sly .not robotic but leaving person, using advanced technology( genetics) Or the "past" wants to destroy them by using a fake or replica sly(dark sly or punisher) because they changed the past.... every action has a reaction....

Oh boy, where would I begin? I got chills up my spine just hearing them. They may not be canon, but considering how dark the series can get, I am not surprised. The idea of using Sly as a vessel or something reminds me of the Horcrux spell from Harry Potter. The horcrux is an object where a wizard can transfer their soul too. Who says the wizards using that is only limited to the HP verse? (well maybe copyright issues) I know the idea of Sly being possessed is serious and all, but I have this funny image of Murray trying to perform an exorcism by slapping the demon out like that scene from the recent Ghostbusters movie. (Maybe'ill work?) For anyone wondering about technology in ancient times, it is understandable that people will find this farfetched, but there has been theories of secret societies far more advance. Much ahead of their time, inventing things that have not been invented until much later? Is it aliens, time travels, secret agendas to bury them so they can be reborn? We will never know. I have a strong feeling that alchemy is involved. That, and if there is a dark Cooper, then somewhere, there is a good Clockwerk.

Oml all the theory's are awesome!!! I mostly liked the one where the evil cooper would try to hurt people sly cares about like Bentley or Murray and maybe even Carmilita, The other theory I liked was the one where maybe clockwork plugged himself into sly and slowly later tries to take over sly's mind/running through the streets with sly's smarts and steals stuff and does not care who he hurts!! I think this Dark Sly can be a family member of the Coopers that went on a dark path and was watching Sly from afar and was waiting for the right moment to attack him. Another idea would be that Clockwerk took over Sly's mind and have it where Sly's son has to be the hero and save his father.

From least to most interesting: Alternate Dimension - Despite the fact that time travel is introduced in the 4th game, I don't really believe that Shadow Cooper comes from an alternate dimension because he looks so ancient and medieval to be Sly from a different dimension, he must've come from a different time period instead. Doppelganger Master - I do believe that Mz. Ruby could be involved in some way but I feel that a clone wouldn't be epic to think that this guy could be Sly's doppelganger. Possession - I like the idea of an evil spirit within an Egyptian artifact taking over Sly and taking time to do so, even the wizard does sound more epic! Though I still feel that Clockwerk should be involved in this. Outcast - This one is pretty much what I wouldn't mind seeing in the series, a cursed member of the Cooper clan being treated an outcast like Elsa from Frozen except that he ends up with hatred for the clan and ends up in a showdown with Sly with emotion! Vessel - I honestly rank this one above the others mainly because I believe that Shadow Cooper and Clockwerk could potentially be the same person in a way. We haven't seen Mz. Ruby in any other game of the series besides the 1st game. Since she was a voodoo mystic like that wizard you mentioned earlier, what if she helped Clockwerk with his immortality up until Sly defeated her? Clockwerk could've hired an expert on black magic or voodoo time and time again. Also the fact that he could've taken over Neyla kind of supports the idea I had of Clockwerk being a Cooper before, what if the spirit of Shadow Cooper lived inside him and eventually made his parts his home?

The other image is a rough one, notice it wasn't colored, maybe he had scrapped it for the new one. The M1 part, I have no idea, haven't heard him say it. If a Cooper's spirit was within the owl, why even choose a bird form? Sure, weaponry and stuff like that, but there's lack of agility. I'm glad you liked the idea of this guy aiding Clockwerk, adds a little twist and ideas for future sequels. I thought people would hate the idea of Clockwerk possessing Sly haha, glad I kept it.
I'd love to see some sort of parallel universe/alternative timeline where Sly either ends up working for Clockwerk, or got captured during their confrontation at the end of Sly 1 and was forced to go through the same transformation process as Clockwerk. I can't think of a solid reason for how that would make any sense, seeing as Clockwerk's only motivation for replacing his body with machinery was to ultimately live to see the end of the Cooper line, by his hands (talons) or by other means. Sly 5 could be super ballsy and start with Sly screwing up the timeline while stuck in Egypt. From there Bentley and Murray would find and return with Sly to the present where history as they knew it would be completely altered with Clockwerk still alive and a robotic Sly as his lackie.
Sly might alter the past thus changing the future. If they do go back and Clockwerk is still alive, how much damage would they have caused? If he's still alive far in the future, that would mean he spared Sly's parents or perhaps didn't. If Sly still exists, that would mean he either went to the orphanage still or his parents were spared which I highly doubt. Sly changing the past could affect the friendship bond as well.

I got one. Sly Cooper from an alternate universe who went insane after failing to save Carmelita from something, which led him to go on a killing spree, corrupting his soul. The cane was modified to absorb the powers and abilities of everyone he kills.
Kind of an odd idea but what if dark sly is Sly Cooper under the effect of spice from the second game? Let's just say Penelope goes back in time to the point where she is able to get the Contessa to join her and they manage to go to where sly is in the past, trap him, make him ingest the large amount of spice and he is put into a trance. Being under the trance and the spice drives him mad to the point he becomes dark sly, and from what the one comment said about batman beyond, Penelope could have full control on how much it effects him with a chip on him. Could lead to him going back to yes kill his friends and possibly there could be a moment where he gets hurt enough, they see him turn back to normal for a few seconds before reverting back to dark sly. Its an odd an idea, could be dumb but im sure a couple of games/movies have done something related to it.
There is such thing as people who are the spitting images of each other, but aren't related. And there's faux fur. Perhaps someone is going around and slandering the Cooper name? Stealing from the innocent, hurting those in his/her way(regardless if they're innocent), and screwing up his name. It could also be a robot that Clockwerk could use against the Cooper name, and here's my reasoning: Clockwerk is obviously tech-savvy; he created an immortal body and built hundreds of traps and gadgets. So it wouldn't be too much trouble to create a robot that looks disturbingly like the living. Faux fur, clothing, and a cane would be child's play. And if not Clockwerk, then someone as knowledgeable. Penelope created sentient robots, why can't someone else? Or perhaps Clockwerk's vengeful soul found itself a new body...
VTNVIVI I agree. I'd love to see the return of Clockwerk, since he has a big part in Sly's past. It felt a bit short-sighted, and I want to see a bigger importance in the movie(if it happens; I've been waiting for a while :/).
To bill the kid Sly was in a time wormhole so the means that he was go through the timeline which means that if you travel and just randomly went into the time wormhole you be sent to that time randomly as well that how works
I hope that Sly will get evil by someone or something!!! It would make the game so epic and exiting! Everything you said in that video was really good ideas! But dark Sly would be awesome!
A phantom perhaps? For example, a manifestation of Sly's darker emotions (anger, frustration, sadness, and regret) that he'll have to confront later on. Perhaps the entity could be summoned during a conflict with an individual using some variation of dark magic. Heck, maybe it could take on the form of Sly's father? After all, they do share a similar build from what's been shown. Just mere speculation, of course.
Another idea... what if the Outcast idea is correct, except that this isn't just "some Cooper", but rather Clockwerk before becoming robotic? After all, every time we see a fleshy Clockwerk is an imagine spot, NOT a picture or memory or what have you.
(Going with the Corrupted/possession idea) Sly being evil doesn't necessarily mean he can't be the main character. This game is after all based on his story, and tbh, I'd love to play as Dark Sly, he looks so badass. OR The real Sly could be overcoming obstacles with in his mind, set up by Dark Sly to keep him at bay. By Obstacles, I mean like levels, not metaphoric obstacles. Then it can switch from Sly to the Cooper Gang, as they are trying to save both Sly and themselves from Dark Sly. But I think with the Sly 5 cliff hanger idea, the first mission of Sly 6 could be as Dark Sly, you could play as him stalking menacingly across the rooftops of Egypt only to come across the cooper van, then he some how sneaks on and is transported to the present.
That figure coud be a mode in sly 5. the cane he is holding is the artifact and when sly touches it, it doen't take over him immediately, but it will slowly take over. If clockwerk comes back, it would be cool to presume that villain was an accuaintance of him in egypt. In the ned sly gets controlled by that spirit
Maybe Sly Cooper found a hidden temple and inside was a Cooper mask and thought to himself maybe I should put it on but when he put it on he is soon as you put it on something went inside of him but over time it made him insane
Maybe throughout Sly 5 we could see the dark sly character in ancient egypt as well as n the present and then at the end it is revealed to be SLY'S DAD. We never saw him die we never see his face and this is why. We will then get a back story about Sly's mom and how she sold him out to Clockwerk because she was under his influence.What do u guys think...
What if it's not one of his ancestors come back from the dead, but instead Mz. Ruby infused Connor with magic (the night he died on Clockwerk's orders) that would activate upon the destruction of Clockwerk's hate chip? It would naturally take time for the body to recover (not to mention the addition of Mz. Ruby's magics) but once he has, this "Dark Sly" would have every single skill that Sly would have, along with Clockwerk's unfettered hatred for all things Cooper. Now imagine the pain and character development Sly would go through, having to kill his own father.
Hi, VTNVIVI! I didn't really watch the whole video to be honest because (to me) it seems way to long for a simple discussion about who the character might be, and because I come by for your Sly Cooper discussion videos every once in a while, but here is my fan theory on this guy: First off, I don't really like the name "Dark Sly". In this theory I'm just gonna call him Frank, O.K? Now what if "Frank" is an ancestor of Sly Cooper? Or maybe a distant relative? What if Frank lost his chance of becoming a Cooper, lost his birthright, or had left, was banished, shunned, or kicked out of the Cooper Clan for something he did in his past? He then started studying mystical arts, the occult, whatever, and he pretty much becomes immortal and a psychic. As time passes he sees the Cooper Clan being killed off by Clockwerk. Frank watches from a distance letting Clockwerk slaughter them all. Just so he can have vengeance on them for shunning him. In the end Clockwerk goes after Frank and Frank barely survives even with the mystical enhancements he have in his body. In the fight Clockwerk tells Frank that he knew that he was letting him kill them and that by killing them and learning their tactics that Frank doesn't have any real chance of stopping the him. So Frank flees as long as he can and he goes in hiding. Having to live with being defeated and living with how he stood by and watched those who loved (or maybe hated) him die. So Frank decides to wait, until a time when technology is advanced enough so he can go back in time to stop this all and to save everyone. To redeem himself. Now it is present day (right now I'm just going to ignore the whole time travel Sanzaru story, mostly because I absolutely hated what Sanzaru did to the history of the games, so, I guess this is pretty much my idea of what that PSP game could have been) and it is known worldwide how successful Sly and his gang is and how Sly defeated Clockwerk then Clock-La, opened the vault and he became a truly honorable member of the Cooper Clan, even though none of his ancestors (or father) are around to hear it. Frank them gets Sly's help (well pretty much Bentley's help) in constructing a time machine to go back in time to stop... Something. If you are wonder why I said "something" is because Frank does NOT specify what he is going back in time to stop out of fear Sly and his gang will refuse it (oh and if you are wonder Carmelita goes along with them, she hates Sly for faking amnesia but they are married now so they have to stick together, so yeah. It being like this also gets rid of that cop and robber thing Sanzaru stupidly brought back in TiT). So they go back in time, to different eras and everything and at one point Frank departs from them (doing something secretly of course), then somehow Sly and the gang find out of his true motives, so they try to stop him but they ultimately fail. Then Sly is left with the dilemma on whether or not he should save his entire family from the monster who killed them all or stop Frank and let his entire family die. Sly choses the latter, and go for Frank. Then using his powers Frank rounds up mystical energy combines said energy with the energy from the time machine and basically he becomes a time traveler. Bentley finds that he can home in on Franks location using the time machine and the plan to stop him goes from there. Frank goes to different eras to kill Clockwerk and the Gang have to stop him or else everything will change in the future. That's my idea of it. Hope to hear some feedback. Sure, the parents remain alive, growing up with your parents might maybe affect one's choices in life, will that choice impact Frank's existence? As for redeeming himself, he would have to save his father first, you know so his dad sees him as a hero, BUT the right thing to do would be to start from the beginning (that's what's going to feel right to him). Thing is, if Frank goes back to the past, he might encounter his old self who at that time still had a grudge against his family, will he get in the way? Interesting read!

I would very much love to see a concept about an outcast Cooper. To be fair though, I would like to keep it inherently simple. For that particular idea I believe less is more, especially if we talk about a forgotten Cooper, rather than the whole dark wizard mumbo-jumbo. I'm not implying it's a bad idea or anything of the sort, however the concept of a forgotten child might as well be enough of a motive for Darth Cooper to go apeshit as well as a possibility for a toxic ideology that includes but is not limited to: Brutality, Murder, Theft(The bad kind) and possibly even being a Bounty Hunter

It is assumed that a Cooper caused Clockwerk to become the raging robot that he was. What if this Cooper is the one? I mean, surely the Cooper line hasn't had flawless run of good thieves. There had to have been a bad egg in there somewhere.
Unless the Cooper line never spoke of him. It would damage their thieving reputation knowing that their greatest threat was caused by a Cooper who strayed away from the family and chose to actually be a true criminal rather than a "Robin Hood" like vigilante.

I have an idea. Like you said in the past Dark Sly could be a brother to whatever Cooper and betray them and join Clockwerk not caring who he hurts and ends up betraing Clockwerk almost killing him and leaving him for dead creating Clockwerks hate for the coopers. Somehow getting to the future Dark Sly being just as skilled as Sly but not caring for suttlety when theaving just goes through every one not caring just to get whatever he was stealing being a Coopers still leaving Cooper signs, Carmelita and the team would think its Sly nut wonder what Sly's doing because he would not leave badly injerd or dead people like that and try to find the real Sly and stop Dark Sly.
I got a theory. What if Sly was controlled by slytachumad but when he was writing the book, he decide not to add a few bad, dark and secrets. Later when Carmelita, Bentley and Murray are going to accent Egypt (cause sly ended up living with slytachumad for the mean time when the secret ending is the prologue). Sly later gets controlled and now maybe he might (if they take the jak and daxter 2&3 story dark) kill, rob, and hurt people then sly and slytachhumad would be the first boss of the game (sly 5). Also if they do that then I think Carmelita will be forced to fight sly by reading the thevious raccounous before going and try out some moves. This will be hard but maybe she will try to make sly remember his past with the gang and they're adventures.
If Slytunkhamen was evil, would he take the time and raise a child? If not, how would Sly even exist? I believe Slytunkhamen was a good guy, Clockwerk was spying on him. I think Carmelita should play an important role in the series, maybe Sly wants to meet his parents and Carmelita warns him not to, something emotional.

Some back to the future stuff right there, But if this is true, what if this is sly's father? and I know what you're thinking, But why would his father be evil? And well, that's hard to say. The best idea off of that is your scenario, where the microchip got into sly, and clockwork took over. with clockwerks backup memories. Bentley & Murray find Dark Sly, and take him home but then Dark Sly pulls out his cane and throws it into the machine (His cane was his fathers so it goes back to sly as a child.) Dark Sly traps Bentley & Murray in the van, while he goes off to kill Conner. Just then, some of sly's conscience kicks in and fights back somehow breaking the microchip. And when that happens sly is gone. Clockwerk is gone. Sly's conscience is nowhere, clockwerk's microchip has broken, leading sly into the broken chip, and Dark Sly, also known as Conner, Is nobody. Just a brain and cells combining no personality. he meets his wife, sly's mom, and has a child (Sly) a few years pass, and come The Fiendish Five. l Holy crap that took long to think up, what do you think? Far fetched? BTW did we ever see Conner in the Thievius Raccoonus? Maybe that's something to do with it.

I am still thinking it may be his brother that was old then him. Like if his father seen darkness in Sly's brother and decided to give Sly the cane instead. But his brother though it was not fair and decided to make his own and to get revenge explaining the red eyes. Well in the first game Sly did say ''He tried to save us'' which could mean Sly's mother, father, and brother and that would explain who was taking the families picture if his brother did not want to be in them maybe camera shy. Also what if his brother tried saving him by making him leave. Imagine that clockwerk was going after Sly's brother when he was going to get sly out of the house. And his dad got into Clockwerk's way trying to kill Sly's brother. that could explain why Sly said us instead of their selfs(meaning Sly's mother and father) and so sly was running away from the house hearing screaming and thinking his brother, mother, and father. So the five villains thought that Sly's brother was sly and kept him alive. It would sorta make sense, right?

What if this person is sly from an alternate dimension (already mentioned in video, just my own spin). His parents were killed so he is motivated by rage and darkness and tracks down the fiendish five. This evil sly has no concept of Honor
It does make sense 3 reasons
1). Current sly was orphaned and sad until he met Bentley and Murray.
2). Alternate evil sly was orphaned and never met Bentley and Murray.
3). We already have time travel, why do we need alternative dimensions this is why it could’ve been scrapped.

We think this Dark Sly is a evil version of Sly that comes from a parallel universe where the Coopers where evil thieves and stole from every one, and that version of Sly killed Murray and Bentley from his universe when they failed a heist and became useless, and he used Bentley's remaining technology to detect our Sly in ancient Egypt and decided to replace him to take our Sly's tittle of the best thieve alive.
A bit wonky on the spelling, but maybe -- like in the Nintendo DS game *"Star Fox: Command" (2006),* where there are *multiple endings* chosen by the player -- ...that might be true.

I pick the possibility of a Outcast Cooper in the fifth game. To me, this scenario makes a lot more sense - since we technically don't know if any of the Coopers before Sly had more than one kid or not. Not to mention, this Outcast could also be the one who rebuilds Clockwerk after his body was destroyed in Sly 2, as an act of revenge against his/her family. And eventually facing off against Sly himself.

has anyone stopped to question how the Cooper line's been around for so long? Seriously if the danger of stealing from criminals wasn't enough to at least cut one of their crime sprees short then perhaps the fact that in sly 4 until Sly showed up Tennessee Kid was literally going to be hanged which I can definitely say that's at least a little dark.

I like the idea of an outcast member of the family who decided to follow a darker path. To add more darkness to it maybe also a scenario where this mysterious guy helped clockwork to kill the cooper family with the intention to kill off every last cooper family member in order to become the last of his kind (or maybe out of revenge?). However since sly escaped the mysterious racoon travelled in time to find sly and finish him off.
I have a theory... a GAME THEORY (sorry it had to be done) that what we're looking at is the reason the Cooper's adopted the "Master Thief's only steal from master criminals" philosophy. Okay picture this, we know that Slytenkahmun(forgive the misspell) wasn't the first thief in the Cooper family because Bob. Now let's say one of the family members who's name has long since been stricken from the Cooper family tree for his dishonor was too greedy and stole from anyone and everything: noble people, charities, orphans, the disabled, that guy who rings the bell in front of Walmarts (okay the last one's just for fun) until one day he does something horrible. In a botched robbery attempt or perhaps even on purpose he tries to steal from family member, and for this he was defeated by his own family, like slytunkahmun I or Sly and is forced to flee. In this humiliation this Cooper wants revenge and so pledges to wipe out the Cooper line, dawning on armor and replacing the parts of his body to another creature of the night, except a hunter; a killer. Thus Clockwork the Owl's born out of hate. One quick note I know that Clockwork was fleshy at one point so it can't make sense, well I'll tell ya know nothing about clockwork makes sense, hate somehow keeping him alive, he somehow being able to survive with all those years while starting his revenge on the Cooper line way back in slytunkahmun's day and why all his his macine parts seemingly wither away within moments of the Hate Chip being destroyed while it survived rather intactly in FREAKING LAVA twice. Anyways perhaps this could be explained by some sorta ye olde voodoo curse he cast on himself which tied himself to a horcrux-like object(s) at the cost of his soul and basic emotions save that which would drive him for revenge. Meanwhile the Cooper tradition was put in place so that another Cooper like "Cooper ?" will ever come again... whaddya think, it's long I know and probably has more holes than the earth, but it does sound epic right? I'll try to tweak it a bit.

My personal take on this is that Dark Sly would be Detective Winthorp from the comics. After having enough of Sly being with Carmelita, Winthorp decided do some working out and Parkour training, and ten dawned this Dark Cooper persona to try and ruin Sly's reputation.

I think what will happen in sly 5 is that after sly escapes and marries carmileta and they have a kid, 15 years later sly get a bit dark inside and the game gets a new playable character, sly's son who has supernatural powers unlike his parents, the villain is an evil wizard plans to kill all of sly's ansesters by killing bob so the other coopers will not exist and the gang stops him but the end will reveal that in anchent Egypt that clockwork puts a hate chip in his brain and took over his body completely and gains supernatural powers like sly's son and in sly 6 the main character is sly's son and he gain all the abilities his dada got so he can save the world and his dad, and at the end he fights clockwork in his dads body and it is a battle of equals and sly gets the determination to destroy the hate chip in his brain to finish clockwork for good and sly's son at the end becomes a cop by day, and master teift by night

What if (going back to the alternate dimensions idea)
dark sly is a alternate dimension Cooper where the coopers and clock werk switched places. Coopers falling short of clock werk and since a Cooper would be robotic and consumed with hate and jealousy like clock werk normally, he could see sly and hate him jealous of his success and such and could even end up with the 2 forming a good guy bad guy alliance to finish off Slys clock werk since I'm sure both coopers don't like him.
Apart from the fact that the character doesn't look robotic, who knows what goes on in that other dimension. We could also talk about an opposite gang, where they simply rob and hurt anyone who comes in their way. This guy finidng Sly and becoming jealous is another scenario yes :), thanks for sharing!
This or perhaps a dimension where this may be Sly after his parents were killed and under the possibility that he was kidnapped or he ran away, growing up consumed with hatred and isolation. I mean, if they could make time traveling possible, then they could very well make other dimensions possible

Penelope helped gently to build the time machine. So Penelope is smart, maybe she turned against them for some reason by making a fake sly .not robotic but leaving person, using advanced technology( genetics)

Oh boy, where would I begin? I got chills up my spine just hearing them. They may not be canon, but considering how dark the series can get, I am not surprised. The idea of using Sly as a vessel or something reminds me of the Horcrux spell from Harry Potter. The horcrux is an object where a wizard can transfer their soul too. Who says the wizards using that is only limited to the HP verse? (well maybe copyright issues)
I know the idea of Sly being possessed is serious and all, but I have this funny image of Murray trying to perform an exorcism by slapping the demon out like that scene from the recent Ghostbusters movie. (Maybe'ill work?)
For anyone wondering about technology in ancient times, it is understandable that people will find this farfetched, but there has been theories of secret societies far more advance. Much ahead of their time, inventing things that have not been invented until much later? Is it aliens, time travels, secret agendas to bury them so they can be reborn? We will never know.
I have a strong feeling that alchemy is involved. That, and if there is a dark Cooper, then somewhere, there is a good Clockwerk.

I mostly liked the one where the evil cooper would try to hurt people sly cares about like Bentley or Murray and maybe even Carmilita, The other theory I liked was the one where maybe clockwork plugged himself into sly and slowly later tries to take over sly's mind/running through the streets with sly's smarts and steals stuff and does not care who he hurts!! From least to most interesting:
Alternate Dimension - Despite the fact that time travel is introduced in the 4th game, I don't really believe that Shadow Cooper comes from an alternate dimension because he looks so ancient and medieval to be Sly from a different dimension, he must've come from a different time period instead.
Doppelganger Master - I do believe that Mz. Ruby could be involved in some way but I feel that a clone wouldn't be epic to think that this guy could be Sly's doppelganger.
Possession - I like the idea of an evil spirit within an Egyptian artifact taking over Sly and taking time to do so, even the wizard does sound more epic! Though I still feel that Clockwerk should be involved in this.
Outcast - This one is pretty much what I wouldn't mind seeing in the series, a cursed member of the Cooper clan being treated an outcast like Elsa from Frozen except that he ends up with hatred for the clan and ends up in a showdown with Sly with emotion!
Vessel - I honestly rank this one above the others mainly because I believe that Shadow Cooper and Clockwerk could potentially be the same person in a way. We haven't seen Mz. Ruby in any other game of the series besides the 1st game. Since she was a voodoo mystic like that wizard you mentioned earlier, what if she helped Clockwerk with his immortality up until Sly defeated her? Clockwerk could've hired an expert on black magic or voodoo time and time again. Also the fact that he could've taken over Neyla kind of supports the idea I had of Clockwerk being a Cooper before, what if the spirit of Shadow Cooper lived inside him and eventually made his parts his home?
+Tabreez Siddique could dark sly be introducted in sly 6 or sly 7 or maybe sly 5?

The other image is a rough one, notice it wasn't colored, maybe he had scrapped it for the new one. The M1 part, I have no idea, haven't heard him say it. If a Cooper's spirit was within the owl, why even choose a bird form? Sure, weaponry and stuff like that, but there's lack of agility. I'm glad you liked the idea of this guy aiding Clockwerk, adds a little twist and ideas for future sequels. I thought people would hate the idea of Clockwerk possessing Sly haha, glad I kept it.

I'd love to see some sort of parallel universe/alternative timeline where Sly either ends up working for Clockwerk, or got captured during their confrontation at the end of Sly 1 and was forced to go through the same transformation process as Clockwerk. I can't think of a solid reason for how that would make any sense, seeing as Clockwerk's only motivation for replacing his body with machinery was to ultimately live to see the end of the Cooper line, by his hands (talons) or by other means. Sly 5 could be super ballsy and start with Sly screwing up the timeline while stuck in Egypt. From there Bentley and Murray would find and return with Sly to the present where history as they knew it would be completely altered with Clockwerk still alive and a robotic Sly as his lackie.
Sly might alter the past thus changing the future. If they do go back and Clockwerk is still alive, how much damage would they have caused? If he's still alive far in the future, that would mean he spared Sly's parents or perhaps didn't. If Sly still exists, that would mean he either went to the orphanage still or his parents were spared which I highly doubt. Sly changing the past could affect the friendship bond as well.
Or maybe because since he know that he couldnt beat the coopers so he made him self a cooper body out of black magic and nuts and bolts

I got one. Sly Cooper from an alternate universe who went insane after failing to save Carmelita from something, which led him to go on a killing spree, corrupting his soul. The cane was modified to absorb the powers and abilities of everyone he kills.

Kind of an odd idea but what if dark sly is Sly Cooper under the effect of spice from the second game? Let's just say Penelope goes back in time to the point where she is able to get the Contessa to join her and they manage to go to where sly is in the past, trap him, make him ingest the large amount of spice and he is put into a trance. Being under the trance and the spice drives him mad to the point he becomes dark sly, and from what the one comment said about batman beyond, Penelope could have full control on how much it effects him with a chip on him. Could lead to him going back to yes kill his friends and possibly there could be a moment where he gets hurt enough, they see him turn back to normal for a few seconds before reverting back to dark sly.
Its an odd an idea, could be dumb but im sure a couple of games/movies have done something related to it.

There is such thing as people who are the spitting images of each other, but aren't related. And there's faux fur. Perhaps someone is going around and slandering the Cooper name? Stealing from the innocent, hurting those in his/her way(regardless if they're innocent), and screwing up his name.
It could also be a robot that Clockwerk could use against the Cooper name, and here's my reasoning:
Clockwerk is obviously tech-savvy; he created an immortal body and built hundreds of traps and gadgets. So it wouldn't be too much trouble to create a robot that looks disturbingly like the living. Faux fur, clothing, and a cane would be child's play. And if not Clockwerk, then someone as knowledgeable. Penelope created sentient robots, why can't someone else?
Or perhaps Clockwerk's vengeful soul found itself a new body...
Dark magic is a thing in the series. I wouldn't be surprised if Clockwerk possesses someone, it'd be one heck of a dark story.
VTNVIVI I agree. I'd love to see the return of Clockwerk, since he has a big part in Sly's past. It felt a bit short-sighted, and I want to see a bigger importance in the movie(if it happens; I've been waiting for a while :/).

A phantom perhaps? For example, a manifestation of Sly's darker emotions (anger, frustration, sadness, and regret) that he'll have to confront later on. Perhaps the entity could be summoned during a conflict with an individual using some variation of dark magic. Heck, maybe it could take on the form of Sly's father? After all, they do share a similar build from what's been shown. Just mere speculation, of course.
Imagine it taking the form of Sly's father, I can't imagine the look on Sly's face O_O
Another idea... what if the Outcast idea is correct, except that this isn't just "some Cooper", but rather Clockwerk before becoming robotic? After all, every time we see a fleshy Clockwerk is an imagine spot, NOT a picture or memory or what have you.

(Going with the Corrupted/possession idea) Sly being evil doesn't necessarily mean he can't be the main character. This game is after all based on his story, and tbh, I'd love to play as Dark Sly, he looks so badass.

The real Sly could be overcoming obstacles with in his mind, set up by Dark Sly to keep him at bay. By Obstacles, I mean like levels, not metaphoric obstacles. Then it can switch from Sly to the Cooper Gang, as they are trying to save both Sly and themselves from Dark Sly.
But I think with the Sly 5 cliff hanger idea, the first mission of Sly 6 could be as Dark Sly, you could play as him stalking menacingly across the rooftops of Egypt only to come across the cooper van, then he some how sneaks on and is transported to the present.

That figure coud be a mode in sly 5. the cane he is holding is the artifact and when sly touches it, it doen't take over him immediately, but it will slowly take over. If clockwerk comes back, it would be cool to presume that villain was an accuaintance of him in egypt. In the ned sly gets controlled by that spirit

Maybe throughout Sly 5 we could see the dark sly character in ancient egypt as well as n the present and then at the end it is revealed to be SLY'S DAD. We never saw him die we never see his face and this is why. We will then get a back story about Sly's mom and how she sold him out to Clockwerk because she was under his influence.What do u guys think...

What if it's not one of his ancestors come back from the dead, but instead Mz. Ruby infused Connor with magic (the night he died on Clockwerk's orders) that would activate upon the destruction of Clockwerk's hate chip? It would naturally take time for the body to recover (not to mention the addition of Mz. Ruby's magics) but once he has, this "Dark Sly" would have every single skill that Sly would have, along with Clockwerk's unfettered hatred for all things Cooper. Now imagine the pain and character development Sly would go through, having to kill his own father.

Hi, VTNVIVI! I didn't really watch the whole video to be honest because (to me) it seems way to long for a simple discussion about who the character might be, and because I come by for your Sly Cooper discussion videos every once in a while, but here is my fan theory on this guy:
First off, I don't really like the name "Dark Sly". In this theory I'm just gonna call him Frank, O.K? Now what if "Frank" is an ancestor of Sly Cooper? Or maybe a distant relative? What if Frank lost his chance of becoming a Cooper, lost his birthright, or had left, was banished, shunned, or kicked out of the Cooper Clan for something he did in his past? He then started studying mystical arts, the occult, whatever, and he pretty much becomes immortal and a psychic. As time passes he sees the Cooper Clan being killed off by Clockwerk. Frank watches from a distance letting Clockwerk slaughter them all. Just so he can have vengeance on them for shunning him. In the end Clockwerk goes after Frank and Frank barely survives even with the mystical enhancements he have in his body. In the fight Clockwerk tells Frank that he knew that he was letting him kill them and that by killing them and learning their tactics that Frank doesn't have any real chance of stopping the him. So Frank flees as long as he can and he goes in hiding. Having to live with being defeated and living with how he stood by and watched those who loved (or maybe hated) him die. So Frank decides to wait, until a time when technology is advanced enough so he can go back in time to stop this all and to save everyone. To redeem himself. Now it is present day (right now I'm just going to ignore the whole time travel Sanzaru story, mostly because I absolutely hated what Sanzaru did to the history of the games, so, I guess this is pretty much my idea of what that PSP game could have been) and it is known worldwide how successful Sly and his gang is and how Sly defeated Clockwerk then Clock-La, opened the vault and he became a truly honorable member of the Cooper Clan, even though none of his ancestors (or father) are around to hear it. Frank them gets Sly's help (well pretty much Bentley's help) in constructing a time machine to go back in time to stop... Something. If you are wonder why I said "something" is because Frank does NOT specify what he is going back in time to stop out of fear Sly and his gang will refuse it (oh and if you are wonder Carmelita goes along with them, she hates Sly for faking amnesia but they are married now so they have to stick together, so yeah. It being like this also gets rid of that cop and robber thing Sanzaru stupidly brought back in TiT). So they go back in time, to different eras and everything and at one point Frank departs from them (doing something secretly of course), then somehow Sly and the gang find out of his true motives, so they try to stop him but they ultimately fail. Then Sly is left with the dilemma on whether or not he should save his entire family from the monster who killed them all or stop Frank and let his entire family die. Sly choses the latter, and go for Frank. Then using his powers Frank rounds up mystical energy combines said energy with the energy from the time machine and basically he becomes a time traveler. Bentley finds that he can home in on Franks location using the time machine and the plan to stop him goes from there. Frank goes to different eras to kill Clockwerk and the Gang have to stop him or else everything will change in the future.
That's my idea of it. Hope to hear some feedback. I know it's long and I know I didn't have any courtesy to look through your whole video but please read through it all. Thank you.
You sure wrote a lot, thanks for taking the time :). If Clockwerk killed all the ancestors, stopping him... wouldn't that change Frank's future or existence? Sure, the parents remain alive, growing up with your parents might maybe affect one's choices in life, will that choice impact Frank's existence? As for redeeming himself, he would have to save his father first, you know so his dad sees him as a hero, BUT the right thing to do would be to start from the beginning (that's what's going to feel right to him). Thing is, if Frank goes back to the past, he might encounter his old self who at that time still had a grudge against his family, will he get in the way? Interesting read!

I would very much love to see a concept about an outcast Cooper. To be fair though, I would like to keep it inherently simple. For that particular idea I believe less is more, especially if we talk about a forgotten Cooper, rather than the whole dark wizard mumbo-jumbo. I'm not implying it's a bad idea or anything of the sort, however the concept of a forgotten child might as well be enough of a motive for Darth Cooper to go apeshit as well as a possibility for a toxic ideology that includes but is not limited to: Brutality, Murder, Theft(The bad kind) and possibly even being a Bounty Hunter

It is assumed that a Cooper caused Clockwerk to become the raging robot that he was. What if this Cooper is the one? I mean, surely the Cooper line hasn't had flawless run of good thieves. There had to have been a bad egg in there somewhere.
If true, Sly would have terrible burden.
Unless the Cooper line never spoke of him. It would damage their thieving reputation knowing that their greatest threat was caused by a Cooper who strayed away from the family and chose to actually be a true criminal rather than a "Robin Hood" like vigilante.

The movie can only include so much, I think the team would rather focus on the trio the most. Plus, if all Fiendish members are included, know that they need screentime. I'd only imagine a slight flashback if anything.

I have an idea. Like you said in the past Dark Sly could be a brother to whatever Cooper and betray them and join Clockwerk not caring who he hurts and ends up betraing Clockwerk almost killing him and leaving him for dead creating Clockwerks hate for the coopers. Somehow getting to the future Dark Sly being just as skilled as Sly but not caring for suttlety when theaving just goes through every one not caring just to get whatever he was stealing being a Coopers still leaving Cooper signs, Carmelita and the team would think its Sly nut wonder what Sly's doing because he would not leave badly injerd or dead people like that and try to find the real Sly and stop Dark Sly.
So pretty much dark Sly already existed, and has been up to something all these years.
I got a theory. What if Sly was controlled by slytachumad but when he was writing the book, he decide not to add a few bad, dark and secrets. Later when Carmelita, Bentley and Murray are going to accent Egypt (cause sly ended up living with slytachumad for the mean time when the secret ending is the prologue). Sly later gets controlled and now maybe he might (if they take the jak and daxter 2&3 story dark) kill, rob, and hurt people then sly and slytachhumad would be the first boss of the game (sly 5). Also if they do that then I think Carmelita will be forced to fight sly by reading the thevious raccounous before going and try out some moves. This will be hard but maybe she will try to make sly remember his past with the gang and they're adventures.
If Slytunkhamen was evil, would he take the time and raise a child? If not, how would Sly even exist? I believe Slytunkhamen was a good guy, Clockwerk was spying on him. I think Carmelita should play an important role in the series, maybe Sly wants to meet his parents and Carmelita warns him not to, something emotional.

Hi VIVI, hope you're having a good weekend! So, do you remember that theory, about how sly is his own father? that stayed in my mind.. Some back to the future stuff right there, But if this is true, what if this is sly's father? and I know what you're thinking, But why would his father be evil? And well, that's hard to say. The best idea off of that is your scenario, where the microchip got into sly, and clockwork took over. with clockwerks backup memories. Bentley & Murray find Dark Sly, and take him home but then Dark Sly pulls out his cane and throws it into the machine (His cane was his fathers so it goes back to sly as a child.) Dark Sly traps Bentley & Murray in the van, while he goes off to kill Conner. Just then, some of sly's conscience kicks in and fights back somehow breaking the microchip. And when that happens sly is gone. Clockwerk is gone. Sly's conscience is nowhere, clockwerk's microchip has broken, leading sly into the broken chip, and Dark Sly, also known as Conner, Is nobody. Just a brain and cells combining no personality. he meets his wife, sly's mom, and has a child (Sly) a few years pass, and come The Fiendish Five. l Holy crap that took long to think up, what do you think? Far fetched? BTW did we ever see Conner in the Thievius Raccoonus? Maybe that's something to do with it.

Seeing as how the hate did effect Neyla's mind, I could imagine that darkness effecting Sly even without Clockwerk's mind.
I am still thinking it may be his brother that was old then him. Like if his father seen darkness in Sly's brother and decided to give Sly the cane instead. But his brother though it was not fair and decided to make his own and to get revenge explaining the red eyes. Well in the first game Sly did say ''He tried to save us'' which could mean Sly's mother, father, and brother and that would explain who was taking the families picture if his brother did not want to be in them maybe camera shy. Also what if his brother tried saving him by making him leave. Imagine that clockwerk was going after Sly's brother when he was going to get sly out of the house. And his dad got into Clockwerk's way trying to kill Sly's brother. that could explain why Sly said us instead of their selfs(meaning Sly's mother and father) and so sly was running away from the house hearing screaming and thinking his brother, mother, and father. So the five villains thought that Sly's brother was sly and kept him alive. It would sorta make sense, right?
