Here's my theory: Clockwerk is in fact born in Acient Egypt. But think about it. His hate must have started with the first Cooper he encountered. Which would be Slytunkhamen. What could he do to make clockwerk hate him so much that he would make him self imortal, with the purpose of killing every future cooper. I know he's insane, but that a bit TOO insane. I think that Clockwerk is the ancestor of some other owl way into the future. That owl was trying to be a master thief, maybe some other owls before him was as well. But they were always in the shadows of the Coopers. That future owl grew up hating the Coopers and his hate got stronger and stronger every day. It's the future and all so let's imagine that timetravel isn't THAT much of a challenge. The "future owl" wanted to just end the Coopers once and for all. Before they got to this point. But he knew that he couldn't mess with the timeline too much. The Cooper Clans greatness and legacy started back in Acient Egypt with Slytunkhamen right? The future Owl knew that killing Slytunkhamen him self could have huge impacts on the time line, which was way to risky. He found his ancestor from the same time as Slytunkhamen. Clockwerk. He built the machine that would impact Clockwerks body. I mean c'mon, some owls can grow pretty big. But not as big as Clockwerk. No sir. So "Clockwerk 1.0" was more like a armor around his body (linked with his brain). That's why he's that much smaller in the Sly 4 easter eggs. The future owl told him to use his armored suit to kill Slytunkhamen, but if he didn't succeed, he would be kept alive because of the suit. So Clockwerk failed and failed. Eventually when it was beyond his original lifetime, his body would obviously start to rot and in the end just be nothing left. So after several failed attempts the future owl returned with modifications on the suit and all. It got bigger. Better. More advanved. more dangerous. and most important: it kept him alive. it was just a machine now, the body was gone, just a machine that contained his mind. But future owls plan failed. When he came to the point of trying to kill off sly, he got defeted. after the hateship broke he was gone. But maybe the future owl had kind off a back-up plan. Maybe Clockworks mind somehow got sent trough time and into some sort of computer owned by the future owl? So that he could build an even better suit and be sent back for Sly. That's just my theory, I hope you respond and give ur opinion about this ;P
Thanks for sharing! If Clockwerk's ancestor wanted him to kill Slytunkhamen, then wouldn't that technically impact his future ancestor as well? Now if Clockwerk succeeded in killing Sly, wouldn't that affect his ancestor, maybe in a good way, but what if not? Now here's a question, how could his ancestor even exist if Clockwerk is a robot, how would Clockwerk even have kids :P?
Maybe Clockwerk had kids before he became mechanic :P His kids were just normal owls that kept reproducing trough the generations, they lived and died. However Clockwerk never never died.
VTNVIVI Oh, that gave me another idea. What if The Future Owl got Clockwerks loved one killed (he made someone from that time kill her) after she and Clockwerk had gotten kids. Just to put the blame on the Coopers for her death. To add fuel to the fire and make Clockwerk hate them as well.
I was always so curious to see Clockwork back when I was little. Sly Cooper 2 kinda spoiled what he looked like though, since I started with that game. But when I reached the final boss in the first game, I had shivers down my spine. I'd love to see this thing return.
They really need to make an origin story for clockwerk instead of going thru time with different ancestors. We go back and follow clockwerk seeing how he was made.
In sly cooper: Thieves in Time, It looked like Penelope had plans of her own, she escaped and she knows how to make a time machine. She could've made him a deal, she would've implemented a time machine in it if clockwork would go back in time to free her out of her cell. His talons could cut through solid steel. And most likely the doors or bars were steel. With that, it could explain the "easter egg" in the fourth game. Wich means that sly might have to take out penelope in the past or clockwork when he was incorrupted. For clockwork, he could travel to any time and kill all the coopers. And when ever he messed up he would go back in time and not repeat his mistake. He'd probably save sly for last. And he would've watched sly doing all his work, specificly when clockwork was slain. For all we now the clock work we saw could've been a fake clockwork under his control. And after this, sly would be at a severe disadvatage his friends would probably have to fight for him. And who knows, if he did exist in egytion times, he could've been a diety. That would explain how he got everything.
....GREAT SCOT?! that would explain why the parts melted, not because of the chip, but time travel. Arpeggio gaining the Clockwerk blueprints. how is Clockwerk able to live forever with machinery and hate. This could even possible why the sudden hate from Penelope. This could even be the reason why he was speaking in gibberish in Sly 1. in other words, sly and le paradox is not the only walking time paradox, Clockwerk is. man time-travel is so confusing

VTNVIVI ancient egypt; where sly ends up at the end of thieves and time, the same time as the first recorded cooper ancestor, where (correct me if im wrong) slys family heirloom cane comes from. Could the cane have something to do with him ending up in egypt? And if clockwerk is in Egypt, what happens if he finds sly? Maybe clockwerk killed sly and not the ancestor explaining how the family line started growning. Or, sly is his own first ancestor via time paradox and he started writing the thevious raccoonus again, explaining why it's in English. Idk if you will see this but who knows
Clockwerk could have figured out how to make metal parts and learned robotics through trial and errors and kept the secret to himself. He was probably going to use his new body to rule the world until he got beaten by the coopers, humiliating him enough to swore revenge.
Your theories always sound extremely possible and likely to happen. While you were talking I was actually playing that scenario in my head. Also I think a new Clockwerk would be called something like Mecha Clockwerk. I for one would so fucking love to have Clockwerk return just as long as they have his voice actor from the first game come back and have a brand new completely original final boss theme for him.

Maybe after Penelope got defeated in Sly 4 paradox sent her floating in Time like he was going to do with sly and carmalita but she then time travelled to ancient Egypt by accident and saw clockwork and remembered stories of how he was slys family's arch enemy because maybe sly told her all those stories when they were friends and that's how she helped him become immortal
Penelope going to Ancient Egypt was theory part 1 :). Clockwerk's technology is was to futuristic for Ancient Egypt, someone with the brains, such as Penelope, time travelling is a possibility.
Nice vid VIVI I always enjoy the Clockwerk theory vids but I still don't understand the transfer of Clockwerks natural form into his metal body like was all the important stuff like his brain, heart, lungs, stomach etc implanted into a metal endoskeleton or did his brain connect to the body via Bluetooth. But probably the more important question is who is the person that helped and gave him the body in the first place
All we know is that all his body parts were metal, heart, stomach lungs, etc. Each part was used to basically help him move. And yes, we still don't know if someone really helped Clockwerk turn immortal or not :P
An Easter Egg worthy of note: Bryner Noggins(no idea who he is) wrote, "Clockwerk might have something to do with Le Paradox's scheme?" Le Paradox knows how to time travel, with Clockwerk being in every area that Le Paradox planted his henchman, so its possible Clockwerk traveled in time with him. Plus, it would make sense if the developers wanted to continue the plot. Sly is now in Ancient Egypt, with one of his only ancestors that he has not met yet. Bentley has an object from Ancient Egypt: The Thievius Racoonus. Possible encounter with Clockwerk there and the whole gang?
Vtnvivi I think that clockwork was organic until the blimp crashed because if you look in the beginning of sly 4 when you are playing as bently when he is about to hack the computer you can see that the blimp uses his parts so he could use the part and time travel
i was hoping you would make another vid about Clockwerk, i say this because i was playing Sly 4 and was in the Knight timeline and noticed that there were a ton of owls in the time, could there be something in that time we dont know? also if Clockwerk does come back i dont think i would risk going back in time, the reason he is alive ( well not now... ) is because of his hatred for the Coopers, i would even guess he wouldnt even kill Sly, if Sly is alive he could continue the Cooper blood line and thus Clockwerk would continue to hate, yeah he would kill Sly after he has a child, but i think that would be his plan, to live forever trying to prove he is better than the Coopers . i truly hope we see Clockwerk again, so much we dont know about him, this was an awesome vidoe dude, keep up the great work man!
Good point, Clockwerk needs hate to fuel himself, keeping Sly alive is surely one way of achieving it. Who knows, Clockwerk probably had minions watching, that could represent the owls we see during Sir Galleth's time. Glad you enjoyed the vid thanks :D
VTNVIVI you know whats one thing that disappoints me, they missed a great chance to use Clockwerk in the 4th game, not as the main bad guy of the game but as a mid boss, Sly could go back in time and while trying to help one of his ancestors Clockwerk would pop up thinking Sly was the Cooper of that time period,

Hey there :D. For talking I use a Blue Snowball. Clips and stuff, I use a capture card (old HD PVR for PS3). For thumbnails, I use GIMP which is free :). Editing software, I use Sony Movie Studio Platinum 13. I use very basic stuff :P.

what if Clockwerk was just a humanoid bird creature, in Ancient Egypt, that choose to build a suit of his earlier or stronger version of his species to over power his enemies, but he soon turned his suit into his body and the rest follows
maybe she wanted revenge for sly defeating her in sly4 and she knew clockwerk hated the coopers so she made him metal and programmed him maybe she time traveled to the future?
If she time travelled to the past, that could work, but the future? Hmm... Clockwerk was destroyed in Sly's time, how would he be in the future? Could she have travelled to the future to acquire better technology, maybe!
I feel that Clockwork came from ancient Egypt and his grudge started with Slytunkhamen. My major evidence is that Clockwork greatly resembles the Egyptian Pharaoh Eagle Owl.
I have a theory but It's a little bit wierd : Clockwerk was born before the ancient egypt. In that time, he didn't care about sly family. When he begin to be a criminal, he realise the coopers are better than him. He is begin to be jealous of them. But he can't do anything because he know he can be killed with his mortal body. That is when he meet le paradoxe and they do a deal : le paradoxe give the eternity for Clockwerk by robotizing his body and the owl help him to take down the cooper family. Clockwerk accept and he go back in time to observe the coopers and wait his moments to strike. Your theory is the same than mine.
Nice! Would Paradox be capable of turning Clockwerk into machiney though? The time machine, his blimp, was done with the help of Penelope you have to remember.
To be frank and quick about it the theory that's seems more possible and likely is that Penelope gos back in time to build Clock a more durable and long lasting body.
If that's the case, wouldn't she change her future by doing so? By more durable, do you mean she upgrades metal Clockwerk from the past? Penelope turning clockwerk immortal ok maybe, but going to the past and modifying immortal clockwerk could change everything.
I have my theory on how clockwerk became clockwerk: Clockwerk was a prehistoric owl who got frozen and ended up in ancient Egypt, sly then recognizes clockwerk and does something that enrages him (beginning his hatred for the coopers) after that clockwerk tries to kill sly but always fails. After that he knows he might die and using the Leparadox's time machine parts he builds his premature body. After some tries of killing the coopers he follows the next cooper (rioichi cooper (sorry for spelling)) and then he builds his new and upgraded mechanical body out of the metal found in china, after that he keeps trying to kill the coopers and founds sly's father and recognizes his son as a young version of the first cooper he ever tried to kill. He plans his revenges and begins the events of the first game. I know this might be a long shot.
By the way, there might be a possibility that our time doesn't works the same as sly's time (1 year for us is 10 years for them (an example)) so english might be invented by Egyptian times, heck in the sly universe everybody talks english and is able to read.
Clockwerk being frozen doesn't sound far fetched, let's take Jean Bison for example. Who knows, Clockwerk maybe found a way to use some parts of the blimp. There is ONE major thing I left out purposely, the hate chip. How was he able to create such a mysterious piece of technology? That could really hint towards someone helping Clockwerk.
Yes, I definitely thought about that. It's just that Bob didn't speak. I understand, he's prehistoric, but maybe it could prove that the game follows our time.
+VTNVIVI 1st thanks for reading my comment, i really like your theories and videos. 2nd maybe clockwerk used the time machine not to travel through time but to extent his life (making him immortal momentarily (if that makes sense)), and still used it when he built his new body, until some years before sly's father or even sly's grandpa where he, with the world getting more technological, found the materials necessary to create the hate chip.
what i think is Penelope went back into time, sly 4 clockwerk easter egg, its an owl, Penelope was the owl and when she seen clockwerk she modified it then gave it to him
Maybe Clockwerk is Penelope's creation (the robot), and that when he died like you mentioned he was in bob's time, Penelope wanted someone powerful and scary looking and she revived him in a way that he has hated the cooper because bob may have killed him?

If Penelope time travelled to 10 000BC to turn him all metal, how would Clockwerk know that he was going to get killed? Could Penelope warn him, if so, how would she know :P?
I think the eye is simply a part that survived, the description kinda mentions it. Nanotechnology, how would he acquire that? Perhaps the blimp? Who knows what inside that blimp!
great video it's always good to hear about Clockwork I recently played Sly 2 Band of Thieves and I had something interesting to share with you in one of the levels in the level with the Contessa there is a torture room if you remember this room it has a device called the Mineshafter and Bentley mentions something very important about that device remember how he said when you're taking one of the photos that it was one part science and 1 part black magic and he also said these keywords it is indestructible could have someone maybe one of the Contessa's ancestors have been the one who made Clockwork immortal I have been thinking about this evidence and I want to know what you think please respond soon😃
Maybe Clockwerk was from maybe the future or maybe from a longer ancient civilization with another Cooper that was probably the only member that was fully evil but don't know its my opinion and can you do a speculation video about Bryner Noggin you see there was this Easter Egg in the beginning of the game were we saw his name in the blueprints.
Cool thanks because I was surprises that no one was talking about this name sometimes I always believe that maybe Penelope didn't really betray maybe she was just pretending to be evil and because of Bryner Noggin guy maybe he is fully up to something very ugly that he and Penelope did together back then and when Penelope learn that he hadn't let go of that plan she need to get close to him in order to stop him.
i get the feeling i know how clockwork got the parts to replace his body with robotic parts what if he found the time machine le paradox used since sly went back in time by accident with it maybe clockwork used the time machine and saw how advanced it was and wanted to bond with it literally and it could explain why he could never age or die because he had time on him that prevented him from dying and of course his hatred for the cooper line, that is my personal theory on how clockwork was able to do that, in a way le paradox made clockwork immortal without knowing.

the theivius racconus can't take them back to ancient egypt. slytunkhamen began writing chapters back in ancient agypt, but as the cooper family went on, the writings where transferred to different versions of the book. if it was the same book that slytunkhamen used it would fall apart as soon as you try to touch it
Yes, I agree! The book got updated through the years, there's no way that book would stay intact. Plus, if we go on the realistic side, paper didn't exist back then, Egyptians wrote on scrolls (papyrus). That's why, using the thievius raccoonus might not guarantee Bentley ending up in ancient Egypt (this was mentioned in Sly returning home theory).

Clockwerk 2.0, probably. The old Clockwerk (1.0), well... either he's from the future and time travelled (one way ticket, no turning back) or someone simply turned him into what he is without the ability to time travel.
I'm not sure really.. If I recall back in Sly 2 the hate clip is what keeps Clockwerk alive for all these years now that the hate clip is destroyed Clockwerk not only ages before their eyes but I'm guessing he dies as well.
Clockwerk's brain was not really shown, only mentioned. What if his brain (his mind) is still intact? What if that brain is put inside a new body? Clockwerk 2.0 perhaps?
What about the Hate Chip? Does the Hate Chip have to do something about this? Here's what I think, since Clockwerk existed in Egypt along with Slytunkhamen. Is it possible that the Time Machine Blimp in Sly 4 has certain parts to recreate him into an immortal being? Maybe that Blimp also holds the Hate Chip and maybe Clockwerk (the old version) somehow absorbs it causing him to change and morphs into the Clockwerk we know of, becoming smarter and more evil in a way. He'd must of use some of the Blimp's parts to make him robotic and corrupted (almost like Dr. M) and also has the ability to Time Travel. Due to the Time period the Blimp crashed in Sly 4, the parts just decomposed in Sly 2 after the Hate Chip got destroyed. Maybe after the events of Sly 4, perhaps Sly didn't realized that Clockwerk was there after the Blimp crashed and Sly didn't noticed Clockwerk since he was different and Clockwerk "mistakenly" stole the Hate Chip as some jewel or treasure
Hate chip is for another video ;). The hate chip got destroyed in Sly 2. Maybe there was something in the blimp that caused Clockwerk to become what he is. But, it takes brains for that right? Maybe the blimp was powered by a chip similar to the hate chip. Dark magic exists in Sly's universe, could that chip have been have been converted into a hate chip? A chip fueld with hate, still hard to warp your head around.

Also, nowhere is it stated Clockwerk became a robot in 5 minutes. More likely, he replaced his heart with a machine. Then more organs. Then the eyes and the beak. Then the rest........ and then the brain. Over the course of several centuries.
Making a deal was something I mentioned in part 1. The deal was probably to keep Sly alive. Without Sly, Penelope would have never met Bentley. Who knows, maybe she still does have feelings for him.
So heres my theory... Moving the words around I believe I can make proper sentences with them the words said are I am Been Selling Flowers Never Reality Beley I will become Feet together I will live Redirect Energy Now moving words around. i believe we can piece together what Clockwork is trying to say or tell Sly first I believe we can add a word to 3 words "Feet together, I've been selling flowers" Next adding 1 word and a noun I will Belay Now the 3rd part i could put together. I will become Immortal 4th I will never be reality 5th I will live on forever 6th Reusing a word Never Redirect Energy Now using what i have put together i will attempt to make a quick theory of what cloackwerk might be trying to tell Sly about his family Maybe Clockwork used to be a salesmen of flowers, maybe talking to a young man trying to impress a lady at a dance and the flowers bit could be him offering the flowers so this young man could give to her, maybe this man was Slytunkhamen, trying to impress a common girl in ancient Egypt? Now maybe after the dance they shared and Slytunkhamen gave this girl the flowers maybe Clockwork overheard a plan to rob her, Leading to the next saying "I will belay" This kinda means "i will protect" So i believe he began to protect this girl from Slytunkhamen and caused him to resent and hate him. "I will become" could be relating to him becoming immortal and maybe his hatred grew for he failed to protect those being robbed by Slytunkhamen, so he found a way to become immortal maybe from the assistance of an Egyptian god or a time traveler. The line i will never be reality could relate to the fact he can travel through time killing and defeating the cooper family as if his brain is stuck upon that one girl he could not protect and is never a set part of time as if he does not exist, never documented , or even seen by others besides the coopers at their last stand off with him . The next line is obviously relating to the fact he will live on forever and will always stand up to the Cooper family, and protect others tho this could have lead him to snapping and thinking he's doing good when he's really being sadistic and not acknowledging the fact the Cooper family moved on from hurt the innocent and is still trapped in that mindset of they are evil as if his mind refuses to move on . Now the last line could be him showing that he did in fact try to fight the thoughts of all the coopers are evil but his "powers" and "hatechip" are refusing to let his energy "Redirect" to accept them as good. But in the end my theory basically argues that his hatred and resentment started from a Cooper who was not good and was an evil greedy person who cared only about the weath and slowly the family line foolwed his teaching hurting the innocent and causing his hatred to grow but as time went on he saw them change and he tried to fight the machinery and try to accept them leaving him psychotic his brai believes its doing right but he knows he's doing wrong as if he has no control of his actions. And the last line "Cooper you will never be rid of me, Clockwork is superior" is him kinda saying these thoughts will always be with him for he believes he told him the full story, but in reality he could only say broken up words and half sentences for hes almost dead and thats all he could do This kinda shows the Coopers are not all good and they did hurt those who were oppressed and obviously easily used and tricked as that young lady was who Slytunkhamen took advantage of So the cooper clan is not all good and they are never going to be all good not even sly for taking out a mentally unstable owl who had no control of his action, tho it would be the most humane thing to do was it the best thing to do? Thats my story and sticking to it
I really hope so this content mixes very well especially penelope time traveling. Where clockwerk as an owl wants to live forever and penelope says she will give it to him but tricks him with the hate chip so then clockwerk will destroy sly. We dont see penolope because maybe she transfers her soul to the hate chip and all her hate makes the hate chip.
English was spoken in those times. English began around c.400. If the Sly series is loosely based off our own history, then his Ancestors speaking English makes sense, some were perhaps bilingual.

I think I've figured something out about clockwork Sly did destroy one part of clockworks body in the first game. His brain. And guess who said that they had the clock work brain in the second game. Guess who denied Jean bison from trading or seeing the clockwork brain. Arrpegio ( I don't know how to spell his name but the smart small bird who owned the blimp in the end of sly 2) And Arrpegio was planning to take control of clockwork the whole time. But I had one question from that. How would he take over clockworks body if clockwork would already have his own functioning brain? He wouldn't be able too right, not without clockwork speaking a few lines and them fighting over control. But he didn't need too because of (and this is just a theory!) My theory: Clock work had had his whole body replaced to live eternally. But what is something so complex that cannot be replaced yet persuaded. The brain. Clockwork had kept his own brain running for years and years. But when sly knocked
(Continued) clockwork into the lava in the first game the lava started to destroy the one thing vulnerable in clockworks body. His brain. And the person who knew this and lied about it to keep it secret was.... Arrpegio He knew this and was planning the whole time to take over clockworks body because it needed a host. So technically sly killed clockwork twice. So this explains how Arrpegio was able to take control of clockworks body and this also means that any clockwork farther in the timeline then sly 1 or sly 2 doesn't exist. (Just a theory!)
But since Arrpegio was the one who created clockwork how would clockwork have been built in ancient Egypt? He couldn't have. Unless he had his own time machine he wouldn't be able to go back. He would need someone else to do it. But who? ( I will continue this thought in a few minutes just need to check something)
I don't know how but Arrpegio passed the clockwork blueprints to someone who could time travel. Unless Arrpegio did create clockwork and Arrpegio had a friend that took over the " clockwork project". So at this time clockwork is in that small robotic bird that you see in the Easter eggs. That friend however was le paradox. He gave Clockwork the ability to time travel. Clockwork traveled through time having fun and and did what he wanted. But when he goes to some place the coopers mess it up really bad ( building off of your theory for a minute.) and clockwork seeks vengeance on the coopers. He goes back to le paradox who installs something Arrpegio made that would make clockwork live forever instead of just living on for another century in his metal body. The hate chip. And from now on clockwork would not be seen out in the open but yet in the shadows lurking and waiting for the perfect moment to strike. But the leads up to my theory of clockwork basically dying in the first game then the parts being destroyed in the 2nd game. And so clockwork came all the way back to Arrpegio in the end. That was the clockwork timeline as to my theory.
I doubt Clockwerk was born in Ancient Egypt. The source of his immortality is the Hate Chip, which is far too futuristic for that period. My theory: Clockwerk was born in the future, fought Sly (or his descendant), and then end sent back in time after receiving his mechanical body.
That makes sense, but if he is capable of making a time machine then why he doesn't make one again (and don't say he doesn't have the materials because A. He is super intelligent, making those bikes in sly 1, and B. By the time of sly 1 he could not only gather many materials throughout time bur get the final materials (doc brown built a time machine in 1985 for gods sake)).
I doubt Clockwerk made a time machine. He might have had access to one or knew where to find one. Either way, the time machine itself would have been built by someone else. Also, in my theory, Clockwerk was sent into the past. As in someone made him go there. Either he was tricked into going, it was a form of punishment, or something else. It might even be the outcome of the boss fight against him in Sly 5. Thus making a self-fulling prophecy.
What about the Blimp in Sly 4? The Blimp has the ability to Time Travel, did Clockwerk absorb it? If so, does that mean Sly himself created Clockwerk into the way he is?
I don't think Clockwerk absorbed the blip. Unless I'd missed something. It's been a while since I'd played Sly 4, and my memory is bad. As for Sly himself creating Clockwerk, I doubt it. He may have been the reason for Clockwerk being in 10,000 BC (or even before), but not the reason for Clockwerk becoming a machine. I think Clockwerk did it to himself because he feared death.
Ah yes the hate chip. I'm planning a video specifically for that one component! I agree, it it one very futuristic piece of technology, how can Clockwerk come up with such a thing? This one component could maybe explain that he's from the future or that someone time travelled from the future.
If you had looked into ancient egypt. The ancient egyptians actually has advanced tech. Like electricity and mechanics. Writing this cuz it can help you with your theories about clockwerk just being born in ancient egypt. They had tech and stuff back then.
You dont need to figure out who would make this happen. The ancient egyptians all made it happen themselves. So no one from the future had helped them. (I do think aliens may have helped xD but you know)
Here's my theory:
Clockwerk is in fact born in Acient Egypt. But think about it. His hate must have started with the first Cooper he encountered. Which would be Slytunkhamen. What could he do to make clockwerk hate him so much that he would make him self imortal, with the purpose of killing every future cooper. I know he's insane, but that a bit TOO insane. I think that Clockwerk is the ancestor of some other owl way into the future. That owl was trying to be a master thief, maybe some other owls before him was as well. But they were always in the shadows of the Coopers. That future owl grew up hating the Coopers and his hate got stronger and stronger every day. It's the future and all so let's imagine that timetravel isn't THAT much of a challenge. The "future owl" wanted to just end the Coopers once and for all. Before they got to this point. But he knew that he couldn't mess with the timeline too much. The Cooper Clans greatness and legacy started back in Acient Egypt with Slytunkhamen right? The future Owl knew that killing Slytunkhamen him self could have huge impacts on the time line, which was way to risky. He found his ancestor from the same time as Slytunkhamen. Clockwerk. He built the machine that would impact Clockwerks body. I mean c'mon, some owls can grow pretty big. But not as big as Clockwerk. No sir. So "Clockwerk 1.0" was more like a armor around his body (linked with his brain). That's why he's that much smaller in the Sly 4 easter eggs. The future owl told him to use his armored suit to kill Slytunkhamen, but if he didn't succeed, he would be kept alive because of the suit. So Clockwerk failed and failed. Eventually when it was beyond his original lifetime, his body would obviously start to rot and in the end just be nothing left. So after several failed attempts the future owl returned with modifications on the suit and all. It got bigger. Better. More advanved. more dangerous. and most important: it kept him alive. it was just a machine now, the body was gone, just a machine that contained his mind. But future owls plan failed. When he came to the point of trying to kill off sly, he got defeted. after the hateship broke he was gone. But maybe the future owl had kind off a back-up plan. Maybe Clockworks mind somehow got sent trough time and into some sort of computer owned by the future owl? So that he could build an even better suit and be sent back for Sly. That's just my theory, I hope you respond and give ur opinion about this ;P

Now if Clockwerk succeeded in killing Sly, wouldn't that affect his ancestor, maybe in a good way, but what if not? Now here's a question, how could his ancestor even exist if Clockwerk is a robot, how would Clockwerk even have kids :P?
Maybe Clockwerk had kids before he became mechanic :P His kids were just normal owls that kept reproducing trough the generations, they lived and died. However Clockwerk never never died.

They really need to make an origin story for clockwerk instead of going thru time with different ancestors. We go back and follow clockwerk seeing how he was made.
In sly cooper: Thieves in Time, It looked like Penelope had plans of her own, she escaped and she knows how to make a time machine. She could've made him a deal, she would've implemented a time machine in it if clockwork would go back in time to free her out of her cell. His talons could cut through solid steel. And most likely the doors or bars were steel. With that, it could explain the "easter egg" in the fourth game. Wich means that sly might have to take out penelope in the past or clockwork when he was incorrupted. For clockwork, he could travel to any time and kill all the coopers. And when ever he messed up he would go back in time and not repeat his mistake. He'd probably save sly for last. And he would've watched sly doing all his work, specificly when clockwork was slain. For all we now the clock work we saw could've been a fake clockwork under his control. And after this, sly would be at a severe disadvatage his friends would probably have to fight for him. And who knows, if he did exist in egytion times, he could've been a diety. That would explain how he got everything.

Your theories always sound extremely possible and likely to happen. While you were talking I was actually playing that scenario in my head. Also I think a new Clockwerk would be called something like Mecha Clockwerk. I for one would so fucking love to have Clockwerk return just as long as they have his voice actor from the first game come back and have a brand new completely original final boss theme for him.

Nice vid VIVI I always enjoy the Clockwerk theory vids but I still don't understand the transfer of Clockwerks natural form into his metal body like was all the important stuff like his brain, heart, lungs, stomach etc implanted into a metal endoskeleton or did his brain connect to the body via Bluetooth. But probably the more important question is who is the person that helped and gave him the body in the first place

All we know is that all his body parts were metal, heart, stomach lungs, etc. Each part was used to basically help him move. And yes, we still don't know if someone really helped Clockwerk turn immortal or not :P

An Easter Egg worthy of note: Bryner Noggins(no idea who he is) wrote, "Clockwerk might have something to do with Le Paradox's scheme?" Le Paradox knows how to time travel, with Clockwerk being in every area that Le Paradox planted his henchman, so its possible Clockwerk traveled in time with him. Plus, it would make sense if the developers wanted to continue the plot. Sly is now in Ancient Egypt, with one of his only ancestors that he has not met yet. Bentley has an object from Ancient Egypt: The Thievius Racoonus. Possible encounter with Clockwerk there and the whole gang?

Hey there :D. For talking I use a Blue Snowball. Clips and stuff, I use a capture card (old HD PVR for PS3). For thumbnails, I use GIMP which is free :). Editing software, I use Sony Movie Studio Platinum 13. I use very basic stuff :P.

I have a theory but It's a little bit wierd :
Clockwerk was born before the ancient egypt. In that time, he didn't care about sly family. When he begin to be a criminal, he realise the coopers are better than him. He is begin to be jealous of them. But he can't do anything because he know he can be killed with his mortal body. That is when he meet le paradoxe and they do a deal :
le paradoxe give the eternity for Clockwerk by robotizing his body and the owl help him to take down the cooper family.
Clockwerk accept and he go back in time to observe the coopers and wait his moments to strike.

I have my theory on how clockwerk became clockwerk:
Clockwerk was a prehistoric owl who got frozen and ended up in ancient Egypt, sly then recognizes clockwerk and does something that enrages him (beginning his hatred for the coopers) after that clockwerk tries to kill sly but always fails. After that he knows he might die and using the Leparadox's time machine parts he builds his premature body. After some tries of killing the coopers he follows the next cooper (rioichi cooper (sorry for spelling)) and then he builds his new and upgraded mechanical body out of the metal found in china, after that he keeps trying to kill the coopers and founds sly's father and recognizes his son as a young version of the first cooper he ever tried to kill. He plans his revenges and begins the events of the first game.
I know this might be a long shot.
Also clockwerk in the ice age might not be metal but ice, think about it.
By the way, there might be a possibility that our time doesn't works the same as sly's time (1 year for us is 10 years for them (an example)) so english might be invented by Egyptian times, heck in the sly universe everybody talks english and is able to read.
Clockwerk being frozen doesn't sound far fetched, let's take Jean Bison for example. Who knows, Clockwerk maybe found a way to use some parts of the blimp. 2nd maybe clockwerk used the time machine not to travel through time but to extent his life (making him immortal momentarily (if that makes sense)), and still used it when he built his new body, until some years before sly's father or even sly's grandpa where he, with the world getting more technological, found the materials necessary to create the hate chip.

great video it's always good to hear about Clockwork I recently played Sly 2 Band of Thieves and I had something interesting to share with you in one of the levels in the level with the Contessa there is a torture room if you remember this room it has a device called the Mineshafter and Bentley mentions something very important about that device remember how he said when you're taking one of the photos that it was one part science and 1 part black magic and he also said these keywords it is indestructible could have someone maybe one of the Contessa's ancestors have been the one who made Clockwork immortal I have been thinking about this evidence and I want to know what you think please respond soon😃

i get the feeling i know how clockwork got the parts to replace his body with robotic parts what if he found the time machine le paradox used since sly went back in time by accident with it maybe clockwork used the time machine and saw how advanced it was and wanted to bond with it literally and it could explain why he could never age or die because he had time on him that prevented him from dying and of course his hatred for the cooper line, that is my personal theory on how clockwork was able to do that, in a way le paradox made clockwork immortal without knowing.

the theivius racconus can't take them back to ancient egypt. slytunkhamen began writing chapters back in ancient agypt, but as the cooper family went on, the writings where transferred to different versions of the book. if it was the same book that slytunkhamen used it would fall apart as soon as you try to touch it

Clockwerk 2.0, probably. The old Clockwerk (1.0), well... either he's from the future and time travelled (one way ticket, no turning back) or someone simply turned him into what he is without the ability to time travel.

He could have time travelled, who knows. In order for Sly not to find out about time travel, he kept it a secret.
I'm not sure really.. If I recall back in Sly 2 the hate clip is what keeps Clockwerk alive for all these years now that the hate clip is destroyed Clockwerk not only ages before their eyes but I'm guessing he dies as well.
Clockwerk's brain was not really shown, only mentioned. What if his brain (his mind) is still intact? What if that brain is put inside a new body? Clockwerk 2.0 perhaps?
What about the Hate Chip? Does the Hate Chip have to do something about this?
Here's what I think, since Clockwerk existed in Egypt along with Slytunkhamen. Is it possible that the Time Machine Blimp in Sly 4 has certain parts to recreate him into an immortal being?
Maybe that Blimp also holds the Hate Chip and maybe Clockwerk (the old version) somehow absorbs it causing him to change and morphs into the Clockwerk we know of, becoming smarter and more evil in a way. He'd must of use some of the Blimp's parts to make him robotic and corrupted (almost like Dr. M) and also has the ability to Time Travel.
Due to the Time period the Blimp crashed in Sly 4, the parts just decomposed in Sly 2 after the Hate Chip got destroyed. Maybe after the events of Sly 4, perhaps Sly didn't realized that Clockwerk was there after the Blimp crashed and Sly didn't noticed Clockwerk since he was different and Clockwerk "mistakenly" stole the Hate Chip as some jewel or treasure
Hate chip is for another video ;). The hate chip got destroyed in Sly 2. Maybe there was something in the blimp that caused Clockwerk to become what he is. But, it takes brains for that right? Maybe the blimp was powered by a chip similar to the hate chip. Dark magic exists in Sly's universe, could that chip have been have been converted into a hate chip? A chip fueld with hate, still hard to warp your head around.

Also, nowhere is it stated Clockwerk became a robot in 5 minutes. More likely, he replaced his heart with a machine. Then more organs. Then the eyes and the beak. Then the rest........ and then the brain. Over the course of several centuries.
As technology slowly evolved, he used it to his advantage and became stronger! If Clockwerk turned robotic by himself, this could make sense!

Making a deal was something I mentioned in part 1. The deal was probably to keep Sly alive. Without Sly, Penelope would have never met Bentley. Who knows, maybe she still does have feelings for him.

Now using what i have put together i will attempt to make a quick theory of what cloackwerk might be trying to tell Sly about his family
Maybe Clockwork used to be a salesmen of flowers, maybe talking to a young man trying to impress a lady at a dance and the flowers bit could be him offering the flowers so this young man could give to her, maybe this man was Slytunkhamen, trying to impress a common girl in ancient Egypt? Now maybe after the dance they shared and Slytunkhamen gave this girl the flowers maybe Clockwork overheard a plan to rob her, Leading to the next saying "I will belay" This kinda means "i will protect" So i believe he began to protect this girl from Slytunkhamen and caused him to resent and hate him. "I will become" could be relating to him becoming immortal and maybe his hatred grew for he failed to protect those being robbed by Slytunkhamen, so he found a way to become immortal maybe from the assistance of an Egyptian god or a time traveler. The line i will never be reality could relate to the fact he can travel through time killing and defeating the cooper family as if his brain is stuck upon that one girl he could not protect and is never a set part of time as if he does not exist, never documented , or even seen by others besides the coopers at their last stand off with him . The next line is obviously relating to the fact he will live on forever and will always stand up to the Cooper family, and protect others tho this could have lead him to snapping and thinking he's doing good when he's really being sadistic and not acknowledging the fact the Cooper family moved on from hurt the innocent and is still trapped in that mindset of they are evil as if his mind refuses to move on .
Now the last line could be him showing that he did in fact try to fight the thoughts of all the coopers are evil but his "powers" and "hatechip" are refusing to let his energy "Redirect" to accept them as good.
But in the end my theory basically argues that his hatred and resentment started from a Cooper who was not good and was an evil greedy person who cared only about the weath and slowly the family line foolwed his teaching hurting the innocent and causing his hatred to grow but as time went on he saw them change and he tried to fight the machinery and try to accept them leaving him psychotic his brai believes its doing right but he knows he's doing wrong as if he has no control of his actions. And the last line
"Cooper you will never be rid of me, Clockwork is superior" is him kinda saying these thoughts will always be with him for he believes he told him the full story, but in reality he could only say broken up words and half sentences for hes almost dead and thats all he could do
This kinda shows the Coopers are not all good and they did hurt those who were oppressed and obviously easily used and tricked as that young lady was who Slytunkhamen took advantage of So the cooper clan is not all good and they are never going to be all good not even sly for taking out a mentally unstable owl who had no control of his action, tho it would be the most humane thing to do was it the best thing to do?

Where clockwerk as an owl wants to live forever and penelope says she will give it to him but tricks him with the hate chip so then clockwerk will destroy sly. We dont see penolope because maybe she transfers her soul to the hate chip and all her hate makes the hate chip.

Its hard to use the language barrier when in game 1 and 3 they go to china and still speak English same as in the 4th game and japan
English was spoken in those times. English began around c.400. If the Sly series is loosely based off our own history, then his Ancestors speaking English makes sense, some were perhaps bilingual.

Clockwork is from the future and was sent back it time and was trapped and blamed the Coopers! And if Bentley went back with the book would that mean there would be two in the past
Clockwerk being from the future would explain his presence in 10000 BC. However, that could simply be an easter egg with no meaning. Yes technically, there would be two books in the past, something that wasn't shown in Sly 4 for some reason.

I think I've figured something out about clockwork
Sly did destroy one part of clockworks body in the first game. His brain. And guess who said that they had the clock work brain in the second game. Guess who denied Jean bison from trading or seeing the clockwork brain.

And Arrpegio was planning to take control of clockwork the whole time. But I had one question from that. How would he take over clockworks body if clockwork would already have his own functioning brain? He wouldn't be able too right, not without clockwork speaking a few lines and them fighting over control. But he didn't need too because of (and this is just a theory!)
My theory: Clock work had had his whole body replaced to live eternally. But what is something so complex that cannot be replaced yet persuaded.
The brain. Clockwork had kept his own brain running for years and years. But when sly knocked

He knew this and was planning the whole time to take over clockworks body because it needed a host. So technically sly killed clockwork twice.
So this explains how Arrpegio was able to take control of clockworks body and this also means that any clockwork farther in the timeline then sly 1 or sly 2 doesn't exist. (Just a theory!)

He would need someone else to do it. But who? ( I will continue this thought in a few minutes just need to check something)
I don't know how but Arrpegio passed the clockwork blueprints to someone who could time travel. Unless Arrpegio did create clockwork and Arrpegio had a friend that took over the " clockwork project". So at this time clockwork is in that small robotic bird that you see in the Easter eggs. That friend however was le paradox. He gave Clockwork the ability to time travel. Clockwork traveled through time having fun and and did what he wanted. But when he goes to some place the coopers mess it up really bad ( building off of your theory for a minute.) and clockwork seeks vengeance on the coopers. He goes back to le paradox who installs something Arrpegio made that would make clockwork live forever instead of just living on for another century in his metal body. The hate chip. And from now on clockwork would stalk the coopers and learn how to take them out all the while waiting for the. Perfect moment to strike so he wouldn't disrupt the timeline. And when he was with Arrpegio he got his new

And from now on clockwork would not be seen out in the open but yet in the shadows lurking and waiting for the perfect moment to strike. But the leads up to my theory of clockwork basically dying in the first game then the parts being destroyed in the 2nd game. And so clockwork came all the way back to Arrpegio in the end.
That was the clockwork timeline as to my theory.

I doubt Clockwerk was born in Ancient Egypt. The source of his immortality is the Hate Chip, which is far too futuristic for that period. My theory: Clockwerk was born in the future, fought Sly (or his descendant), and then end sent back in time after receiving his mechanical body.
That makes sense, but if he is capable of making a time machine then why he doesn't make one again (and don't say he doesn't have the materials because A. He is super intelligent, making those bikes in sly 1, and B. By the time of sly 1 he could not only gather many materials throughout time bur get the final materials (doc brown built a time machine in 1985 for gods sake)).
I doubt Clockwerk made a time machine. He might have had access to one or knew where to find one. Either way, the time machine itself would have been built by someone else.
Also, in my theory, Clockwerk was sent into the past. As in someone made him go there. Either he was tricked into going, it was a form of punishment, or something else. It might even be the outcome of the boss fight against him in Sly 5. Thus making a self-fulling prophecy.
What about the Blimp in Sly 4? The Blimp has the ability to Time Travel, did Clockwerk absorb it?

I don't think Clockwerk absorbed the blip. Unless I'd missed something. It's been a while since I'd played Sly 4, and my memory is bad.
As for Sly himself creating Clockwerk, I doubt it. He may have been the reason for Clockwerk being in 10,000 BC (or even before), but not the reason for Clockwerk becoming a machine. I think Clockwerk did it to himself because he feared death.

If you had looked into ancient egypt. The ancient egyptians actually has advanced tech. Like electricity and mechanics. Writing this cuz it can help you with your theories about clockwerk just being born in ancient egypt. They had tech and stuff back then.
You dont need to figure out who would make this happen. The ancient egyptians all made it happen themselves. So no one from the future had helped them. (I do think aliens may have helped xD but you know)
Some believe the Dandera light bulb points towards early signs of electricity. But, that's pretty much it when it comes to advanced technology.
