Of all the many, many dal makhani recipes I've tried from UA-cam (including Atul Kochhar's), yours is the one I love best! I think it's the black cardamom that adds the smokiness (making up for the tandoori smokey flavor that is traditional) and the additional spices you use. I also used smoked paprika for half of the Kashmiri chili to add more tandoor smokey flavor. Thank you for such a delicious recipe. 💜

@@DashofDelight Yes I agree Kashmiri chilli is good but still too hot for one of my family members!!!. I sometimes also use Byadgi chilli or Yidu chilli from China, also very red and low heat.

Just a note that cooking in high heat for too long burns away the nutrients and denatures the protein in Daal/Beans, so the trick is to cook for shorter period of time (as long as it's cooked) then use a hand blender to blend just the "Daal + Beans" for the same creamy taste.
Ur reciepe seems to be copied from.bharatzkitchen. I just watched his receipe and then saw yours I checked the published dates then and your video is posted much later
Wrong recipe this is chole recipe nither it is daal making nor daal makhaniya, actual dish daal makhaniya and colour is white, makhana ,cream, milk,and green chili is used and butter also, haldi and red chilli not used. Daal makhania is high calorie, see the preparation of Sanjeev Kapoor, plz Do not mind.

I like the small pressure cooker. Handy for small batches of beans etc. I have a giant electric cooker. big enuf for two chickens.

Kashmiri red chilli powder is for colour. It's not hot

I beg to disagree...bharat added chana dal and also ground the boiled dal. He had too many processes while this was simple and straightforward.
