Can we make a round of applause for Kirk's vocal?
he was practically making out with the mic
Was pretty good 😁
you live in a lion you live in a lion
Not really, no
It was so good 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
YOU LIVE IN A LION YOU LIVE IN A LION!!!
you live in a lion you live in a lion
you live in a lion you live in a lion
YOU LİVE İN A LİON YOU LİVE İN A LİON!!
Lmao
MY LAST STYLE, DETERMINES MY DESKTOP
We agree that everybody here knows andriy was there
Just Kickz He definitely was!
Andriy must have been losing his shit because this sounds fucking amazing. Just imagine actually what it was actually like to be there. He's a lucky guy.
Human Spider it sounded amazing live!
Frrrrrriends
@@AniW2x4 who's that
I know it's probably never going to happen but I'd love to hear them play the entire album live at some point. Maybe for its 20th anniversary in 4 years... would be cool.
They did it actually back in the years with megadeth tour
Pfft. They’re not gonna be alive in 4 years
This made me realize that St. Anger is almost 20 years old and I’m now having an existential crisis.
@@mikepuppetz9 I'm getting old 😔
@@LUCKYLU1S shhhhhhh.... zip that.
They should re-record this album. Every fan will be glad and will embrace it.
nope, it won't be the same
no, leave the album as it is. and no one will change their mind. it's more than about the sound
Oh yeah, Frantic sounds really good live. Yeah!!!!
Because they are just trying to be Metallica, and not trying to get some kind of "garage" sound. Oh, and less cowbell helps.
Chue X That and Lars also took the deafening, motherfucking snare that he used to record all the soundtracks St. Anger and replaced it with his wonderful Black Album snare
Yep sounds great. Especially since Lars is playing on a good drum set rather than what sounds like pots and pans on the album version.
sounds good couse good sounds tehnics on the fucking stage
@@jordanrcxd No, he didn't. He just disengaged the snares from his regular bell brass snare.
Metallica is probably one of the best bands ever.
@@jod_hates_it_here6895 Agreed, they have ALOT of fans BUT they need much more, everyone most days is into this 'Pop Music' with 'Justin Bieber' and bloody Ariana Grande, they deserve more attention .
@@sivige6533 More than 4 million subscribers and a peak of something like 600M views on Nothing else Matters is not bad for popularity lol
Probably?
Probably?
Th3 S4v4g3 honestly when you look at the numbers and in general, metallica has more individual fans around the world than almost every pop artist ever. they have a massive fanbase, more than any artist that actually has a radio presence. METALLICA STILL RULES THE WORLD🤟
I'd like to see them play Bleeding Me and Some Kind Of Monster live😊
hunter hulslander This thorn in my side is from the seed I planted
I'm also waiting for bleeding me
And fade to black
@@emilebreseghello3175 that really isn't played live?
I hope you’re joking
Metallica is the only band that releases an album and everybody goes oh this sounds weird oh they changed.... And then 10 years later you hear the same songs played live and you go oh hold on this sounds fucking awesome. They did it wit load they did it with reload and now St anger. That's why they are the best. They play music from the future
I was just thinking this exact same thing!!!!!
I think it has to do with an entire new generation of people growing up with the music and getting used to it. I never had a problem with Load/Reload because when I became a fan it had already been out and to me was part of who they where.
a bit of this has to be with the fact that these songs are played with the tunings of their standard material. The album versions have different tunings and sound structures, but on stage, they are played just like they would a master of puppets or nothing else matters. As a result, its more familiar and sounds better to the audience
@@dipu94321 no it's not, they're not in the same tuning as Master or Nothing.
Lol
I love when James screams "MISTER ROBERT TRUJILLOOOO!"
Calm down. James can’t scream anymore.
@@thepanther6915 Shut up.
@@thepanther6915 Bro, did you even watch the video
6:04
When he does that?
They finally found the challenge to make St. Anger sound better live than it does on the album. Amazing performance.
I think you forgot that they played all of St Anger live in the studio with normal instruments, and it sounded great.
@@comicsans1689 yup
@@comicsans1689 where do I find that?
ua-cam.com/video/jfiEtTBW9WQ/v-deo.html Here's the link to it.
St Anger is a fun heavy album
Metallica saves the exciting setlists for everywhere outside the US.
it wasn't exciting at all. They played Frantic instead of St. anger, moth instead of halo on fire, here comes revenge instead of harvester and no fade to black either.
kirk said in an recent interview... that his favorite song is leper messiah.. and they almost never play that one... so suck it up sister....
Leper Messiah should be played at Every show, along with the thing that should not be
Here comes revenge is brutal live.. Ground was shaking in Gothenburg..
@@brgebrgesen8157 How about My friend of misery?. that d be awesome too
Metallica are in beast mode
Absolutely im fucking impresed
Beast wishes he could enter Metallica mode.
Kirk is not giving up on the solo for this song. In about five years, he gonna get a three minute break to go nuts! Can't wait! 😁
lmaoo i feel u man ..its an alternate timeline of st anger where there will be solos loll
@@kostasskountzos2836 In alternative universe St. Anger is Kirks' solo album.
I remember Kirk wasn’t a fan of leaving solos out and he made a good point during this album. He said we shouldn’t just leave out the solos cause it’s the fad nowadays. He was 100% right.
3:55 I cant believe this… that roar, guitar sound, solos!
there's no solo
cashman412RBLX did you not watch the video? Lmao Kirk included a mini solo in there
Listened to it for so long without solos , it sounds strange with them
They always add a little solo in for live, it’s great.
@@aaronrus Indeed, but it actually fits quite nice, esp. the second one.
I always said that is a good song with bad production
Exactly. That's what I think about the whole album. Although there's no gems on it, the songs are not that bad. The production ruined everything. A proper sound would have help a lot.
Yea, st anger Is a good album but with horrid production
It's a terrible song with even worse production...
@@metjovi exactly. And they did not intend for any "gems" to be on that album. They purposely wrote nasty ass sounding songs for it. It was what they were feeling at the moment and that's what a call pure art.
There are no "bad productions" , just different productions. The album was made to sound like that, raw and full of anger, that's why it's called Saint Anger. Actually the snare doesn't sound sooo bad, it's like the And Justice For All, the absence of the bass is something we are already used to, and if we turn One up the bass, it doesn't sound so epic and angelic anymore, and it sounds unnecessarily harsher.

Frantic sounds so much better live! Tallica pumping metal 👍🏻
but the studio version is great too
James' voice ruins it on the live one. His voice is much tougher sounding on the studio one.
@@petergunner8666 yeah the lead part during the choruses is done by the bass and sounds way better. That Hammett in the choruses really hurts the sound. Otherwise really good!
PUMPING BLOOOOD
absolutely impeccable performance here
I love the fact that Hetfield is taking back his old look
agreed
Yes! Next must be kirk, normal jeans, White Nikes, Jacket or Ramones
Metallica makes even their most unpopular songs legendary
More hated than unpopular
Kirk's back vocalling is pretty goooood in here
how much auto tune here? He does not have this power :-)
he's adorable!
@@ginnheim9145ppffff what?
Ginnheim68 You know auto tune doesn't fit in live vocals, right?
@@pichulero1188 yes it fits
Let's start a petition for Metallica to play this album in it's entirety with this exact live sound
This morning I woke up by hearing One on the radio. It was amazing.
Nicholas Cage good way to start the day
Thats how you know its gonna be your day.
One on the radio wtf. What country and what kind of radio?
Schottentor I live in America and i was listening to 105.9 the rock on the radio. When they do play Metallica it's usually the hits off the black album. Sometimes they play Fade to Black or Hero of the day. Sometimes they even play Turn The Page from Garage Inc.
Thats good but i heard blackened on the radio like three days ago....and i was amazed
I love how Kirk grabbed the mic stand when it was time for his backup vocals!
6:05 that was so powerful!!
1:51 wtf, kirk's voice is unrecognizable
have you ever listened this song or any from st. anger?
I think rob is singing that part as well
@@silversword4849 no, it's Kirk.
It sounds like Lemmy
Okay...Kirk adding those leads after the bridge was dope AF
"This album is a sh**", they said....
Very good performance. Live music rules!
@Lancer1131 The album does NOT suck, the songs are just too long and repetitive with some bad lyrics in a few of them but the riffs are great, however they don't need solos I don't agree.
@Lancer1131 I can understand, but Load and Reload were good aswell, I can get why people didn't like St Anger, but not Load/Reload, they were sick! I don't understand why it bothers everyone that Metallica evolved into a better band that can play several types of music, that's just made them better and made me appreciate them more. And I didn't even like Country/Rock etc. but these dudes made me love it.
@Lancer1131 I understand the frustration, but on the other hand it is their right to play what they want, the metalheads got 4 thrashy albums, and the others got Black, Load and Reload, which is pretty even, but overall all these albums are just great if you only think about the musical aspect of it, I'm not here to listen to just one type of music, I'm here to enrich my musical knowledge (that's just my opinion though) and Metallica did just that. I think we should all respect the bands that stay true until the end, and the bands that don't and want to do something else, they're just as good to me.
Most of the songs have potential to be really great, but the production on that album was the worst of any Metallica album. The snare, lack of solos, and overall mix ruined it completely. But as we see here, the album still has greatness that can be seen in a live setting!
"Ya know, we may be icons, but we sure ain't done yet" Papa Het
I love this song. It's such a monster. Super simple, but totally bad ass. I love the line "My life style, determines my death style".

I was there with him, he was really surprised by it to say the least haha
@@44mikk How? I mean they've been playing either St Anger or Frantic in every recent show...
@@Cineastre I can't speak for him, but I personally was surprised because it's a St. Anger song
I love that "bad" production and can't fathom that clean snare sound. St. Anger is a master for me. Heavy af.
Holy shit! This was an amazing performance of "Frantic". This is probably my favorite performance! Sounds so damn good and heavy live.
st anger, that album was the way metallica got rid of the fake fans
Yes!!! Best album since justice
Like Occam's razor. I think your comment is right ON!!!! \m/ \m/ I always want to hit people that attack Metallica for St Anger. They are the fake fans!
I have never understood this line of thinking. You’re supposed to blindly like everything a band does if you like them at all? St Anger had out of tune vocals and guitars all through it, a trendy refusal to solo, songs that went on for far too long and the worst production known to man. You can say all that and still appreciate the band. Many songs were ruined through the performance and production but there are moments of great writing in there.
@@RiffFlair You're entitled to your view. But almost invariably, those that dislike St Anger, then launch into an attack on Lars Ulrich. Obviously you don't appreciate what Metallica did there. So, can you be classified as a fan? I'd say no. But then I use the term of the Italian "tifosi" way it describes fans of the Scuderia Ferrari
@D H I'm not sure if I should be alarmed that I used it, or not :-]
3:58
Sometimes I forget how deep Jame's voice is, cool.
And after all these yeas, Frantic became a classic
Yeah that's why half the crowd including front row concert goers are just standing there barely nodding their head waiting for them to play an actual classic Metallica song lol.
Because the drums sound like actual drums, not tin cans! The riffs on St Anger are insane, but the drum sound make it very hard to listen to.
@TETCOM agreed except for purify that song is crap
YES! This song is amazing and the performance was amazing!!

One day, Metallica's grandchildren can look at performances like this with an open mouth saying "That's grandad!!!?". You guys are clocking on in time but your still know how to put on a real show! I am very privilaged to be able to show this to my 2.5 year old son, thank you.

Am I going crazy or are these performances faster than usual?
Sweeeet! When I bought this CD on June 5, 2003 and played it in my car and this song came on I was like “uhhh….ok.” Then a month later I was mosh pitting to them playing this song in Boston, Ma. and the Atlanta, Ga. and I was like “good song I guess.” Now almost 20 years later, seeing this video, dang… it’s perfect. They’re masters of live performances. Still not my favorite song in the set list, but it fits perfectly as a piece of a dynamically mastered performance.
Never EVER cut that hair and mustache again, Mr. Hetfield! ;-)

Always loved you, Frantic.
The great live mix, reinspired vocals, and proper snare tone really redeem this song. Great stuff

It was AWESOME!!
The solo never was necessary 🤭
St. Anger songs live are heavy stuff. Love it.
the solo in 4:20 is new and the drums sounds so much better, i love that album it was my first metal album
I always thought the "Frantic Tick Tick Tick Tick Tick Tock" part is so catchy!

My cousin who's a big Metallica fan suggested me to watch the documentary, "Some Kind of Monster" and man, this is one of my faves now.

Wish they'd keep this song in their sets! ST. ANGER has some great material damnit. YES the garbage can lid snare sucks, its also weird not having solos. But come onnnnn this performance shows its still a killer song they can make great live.
The problem with St. Anger was never the songs it was the production - and this performance just proves it
You know respect to Lars here - he might not have the heavy hitting flair he had years ago - but his timing is great here - he carries the song brilliantly.

I feel like kirk sould do his guitar solo in this section of the song insted.
I think so, too.
His two little solos during the middle section didn't really fit the song, they sounded out of place, like someone during a jam session just stepping in and playing.
