This video really got me into researching mats. I talked with the soft strike mat rep you put me in touch with and he was very honest. He said their mat is designed for inside use and they did not recommend it for outside use. Your other contact you gave me Ivan at Top Shelf was fantastic. I ended up buying the Fiberbuilt 4’ x 5’ traditional mat. I had no idea of the quality variation until watching your video! You got me on the right track! Thanks so much!

I’m curious as to why you no longer find in necessary? I struggle with my short game in the rough/sand and I want to work on it as much as possible, is it not the same? Are those shots best practiced outdoors? I know some software already takes power off shots in the rough but I want the actual feel. Just wanted to know why you felt it was unnecessary?
@@Nas_JO google purchasegreen and bluegrass supreme. it's fake grass that is 2.5 inches tall. haven't tried it yet but plan to buy it. there's some fake grass on alibaba that is even taller but may be hard to order. it should work better than the "rough" that i see used a lot indoors that isn't tall and basically tees the ball up.

Nice Jay. Really curious what kind of tees you briefly showed that screwed in? I have a Uneekor but my club has an HD sim and they also have the rubber tees like yours. I'm just looking for better options as I'm not a fan of the Birtees. Also, do you know if the Surestrike mat comes in smaller sizes? I'm hoping to not have to cut as large of a strip into my turf.

Great video! I’m a low handy capper who has installed a Sigpro floor and have had to stop playing because of joint pain and need a better solution. Also, would like some info on tee options as the tees fly backwards and hit observers. Any info would be appreciated.

I did a long time ago. I found it to be more novelty than realistic and I like it clean without anything like that.

I have not personally but know many with it that seem happy. A lot of personal preference goes into Mats including skill level and setup.
Do you have a source for a soft strike mat insert that can fit into the center portion of a fiberbuilt studio mat?

Not at all. It’s a tough mat no long bristles. Those are the ones that product fliers.
