Thank you Dr Witt-Dörring for talking about the side effects of Zurzuvae. Since this is a new drug and the only available oral treatment for postpartum depression, I am sure they will do a very aggressive marketing campaign to convince women to take this drug. Of course, nobody will tell them about the risks for them and their children. I find it also unbelievable that a drug for such an important problem gets approved after a mere 14 day testing phase. Many women will be certainly put on this drug for a much much longer time and nobody really knows what happens in this case.
Have they done studies regarding excretion in breast milk? Given that similar drugs (benzos, gabapentin) have to be used very cautiously while breastfeeding, I hope due diligence was done.

One thing you forgot to mention in your review of Zurzuvae is that it contains not one but TWO zee's and a weird diphthong at the end. You can't have a shitty new drug released without it containing a bunch of x's and z's in the name.
Hey doc. I was on mirtazapine 45 mg for 6 months. My depression became worse and worse with terrible deep moodswing. Psychiater than prescribed extra, Qeutiapine for the night. I was in a very dark place. Last weak i stopped cold turkey with mirtazapine en Qeutiapine, I am feeling now so much better. The moodswings are gone! Terrible terrible drugs
Please be careful stopping any psych meds abruptly. Withdrawal can be worse than the side effects you experienced, and it doesn't always start right away. It can be after few days, few weeks, and less commonly after few months.

Yes I know, but the dark place I was in, was unbearable. I had to do something. I knew it where the meds. So I stopped, and feeling better day by day.

@@prayforjewisheople I understand. It's being caught between a rock and a hard place. I hope you stay well too. If you run into any issues, consider reinstating a small amount to stabilize and then do a slower taper.
Some will use this for PFS. Helps gaba or allopreg? Effects on 5AR I, II, III? Oh it acts on Gaba.
All new Mom's can smother a new baby by falling asleep during feedings etc. But , sure, driving????
Do you think this drug may have potential for PFS (post finasteride syndrome) treatment off label, since this condition is triggered by a drop in allopreg? And possibly PSSD too? GABA neurosteroids same much more promising than other ADs
Why not give progesterone????????????

Wow. Sounds super dangerous considering it’s a GABA-A modulator. Sheesh 🙄 😅 I would definitely stay away from this!
