Yay, more F&B color reviews! I hand painted my cabinets in Hague Blue and went with SW White Duck for the walls. Like your pairing, I love the cream contrast with this deep teal.
Hague Blue and Palm?!? How had I never considered that?! That looks so fresh, James! (But the idea of Hague Blue in an estate mix, and then going for a higher gloss sheen to distinguish the trim... ah, that’s so sophisticated.)
Help! (Please) I need a color suggestion for my bedroom. Not sure if I want to go with gray after all. My trim is a deep reddish brown and the room has a west facing window.
Love the video and I have Hague blue in lots of places in my house. But just for reference-you pronounce it HAY-G blue like The Hague in the Netherlands
Thanks for suggesting that painting the baseboards the same color as the walls can be a good thing. That white line around the bottom of a room can be a distraction sometimes, especially in small rooms.
Lord thundering Jesus! There's no one on UA-cam that brings such as depth of analysis to their subject. I've been helplessly trying to pick new colours, and lean towards Farrow & Ball as I think they've focused on choosing classic colours that are a big dirty and less likely to feel garish. And I believe there's a dimension or depth to their colours that can't be reproduced because of the pigments they use? Is Farrow & Ball and Aura the two comparable paints for this 'special' depth of pigment or undertones? As for the pronunciation police, I find them a bit annoying. But I'm going with "hog" as in Den Hauge, Netherlands (I'm assuming their range of blue china etc inspired this colour?).
I absolutely agree with you, Rachel! I always click on the notifications and it’s always worth the time. (And James knows his stuff!) I’ve also been gravitating towards the Aura and F&B collections for the same reason - they feel as though they’ve come with a bit of patina or visual depth to them, so they feel a bit more sophisticated to my eye. (And their names make me laugh. I wonder if “Dead Salmon” would pair well with “Elephant’s Breath”, hey? Fragrant!) Ps: “lord thundering jesus” - if you don’t mind my being nosy, are you Canadian by any chance?
@@rachelsavard851 AAAAAH! I thought I recognized that idiom! I’m Canadian as well, so when I saw it I was like “holy moly another one in the wild!” But my cousins up on the island say it all the time, so it was a bit of a blast from home. Howdy neighbour! (Too true. Every essay run through an American spellcheck looks like an Icelandic seismometer, all red squiggles everywhere.)
Hi quick question. What colour would you use to varnish wall slats with using this blue Hague paint. I’ve painted the wall with this colour but thinking what your thoughts would be on the colour of varnish. Anybody? Cheers
I need to find a color for brand new kitchen cabinets. Considering Hague Blue (or other blue) Also , considering green tones..like card room green or green smoke both by farrow and ball.Ok Ive looked at FB downpipe as well. The room next to it has dark gray and light gray with white chair rail. The green dose not seem to with the gray in the next room. The rooms are not completely open.but almost. The doorway is like 7 feet wide between the two rooms.flooring will be hardwood. I'm asking if anyone has an opinion they would be willing to share. Will this be too dark? The kitchen is moderate size. Thankful for this very informative presentation. hopeful to get some comments.
Farrow and ball makes it pretty easy! Emulsion on the walls and eggshell on the woodwork. Estate line if you want a lower Sheen and modern if you need more washability. 😊
Hague Blue has a tinge of green that I don’t see in Gentleman’s Gray and Gentleman’s Gray appears to have a tad more black- but I could be wrong. I absolutely love both colors - just unsure about where I would use them.
Good video, as usual. Hate the background music-annoying and distracting. Surely there is other music that would work better. Or no music at all. Yikes!

So happy you did a video on this color. I've been obsessed for a year. Lol. Soooo beautiful!
This is such a great channel, my design and color theory brain is so happy with it!

Isn’t it pronounced Hayg rather than Hag? Like the town in the Netherlands?
It would make a lovely entry door color
OMG I have been waiting on this video! I'm elated!
Hague Blue is so gorgeous 💙
Lovely color , thanks for the ideas.
Navy vs Navy vs Navy! Hale Navy vs Naval, please!
It’s Hage (Hauge) not hag ... lol... I love this color!

Yes! (shudder...)
It's like... Heyyyy-g. Haha
@@thepaintpeople - That’s it! You explain much better than I could!
i was using this colour today, lovely!
Ooo! That's an awesome coincidence!
Love love love this. You’re sooooo good.
You're too kindddd! 😁

This is an all time favorite color and will probably use it in our new build! I just don’t know how far to take it!
Great video, thank you. If I may mention with good intention; the pronunciation is hAyg, like The Hague in Brussels, Belgium.
Thanks, for the video! I would use a taupe color with Hague Blue before using any of the jaundiced creamy yellows.
It’s a very pretty colour!
You're saying " hag" blue, but it's" heyg" as in hey with a g on the end.
You sure it’s not “hog” like the animal? 😂
They have a new paint called dead flat that can be used on walls and wood work. Have you tried it ?

what would be the valspar match to hague blue
Is there a UK tradition with the paint color Magnolia?
Black primer or white primer?

Speaking of Hague blue with Hague blue. What finish would you have on the woodwork/bookcases as opposed to the wall?
Farrow and ball makes it pretty easy! Emulsion on the walls and eggshell on the woodwork. Estate line if you want a lower Sheen and modern if you need more washability. 😊
I wonder if he will pronounce it "ha-goo" blue.
Hahahahaha! I’d bet you but it’s a sure thing, I think.
It’s a bit denim, blue jean-ish. If your house undertones are grey, it will conflict. I’ve also heard it has red in the mix.
you dont like it with grey in the next room?
Hayg. Not hag. (After the museum)
Hi James what is the difference between hague blue and BM hale navy?
Hi Lisa, Hague blue has a lot more green in it and Hale Navy is a true Navy.
Hague blue in different finishes looks different.
How would you say this is different from BM's Gentleman's Gray?
Hague Blue has a tinge of green that I don’t see in Gentleman’s Gray and Gentleman’s Gray appears to have a tad more black- but I could be wrong. I absolutely love both colors - just unsure about where I would use them.
Not a fan of that cream you mentioned at all.. great videos
Maybe it’s my screen, but this looks like indigo blue for artist paints..
Great video… it’s pronounced ‘hayg’ though 😊
Pronounce it Hayg

Your KILLING the pronounciation is not HAG its Hague HAAGGEE...
Gorgeous color but hearing you call it "hag" blue over and over again is just so wrong.
