Railings is a beautiful colour! Plenty of nuance. Depending on the light source, it can appear dark grey or even a dark tealish navy. Love it in a kitchen paired with white oak with brass or brushed gold hardware/fixtures.

Love this palette! Ammonite and/or Card Room Green go beautifully with Railings.

Gorgeous, cozy color. Lots of depth, creating a focal interest. Ammonite provides even greater options!

I'm looking at exterior paint colors for my little cape near the beach. The new windows are black. The new door likely I'll keep natural because it's beautiful wood. I am envisioning a black or charcoal but like the idea of a hint of blue which is what brought me to your video. I'm on the fence about doing the house in railings and the trim in down pipe (per your suggestion) vs using the lighter color as the house paint and the darker color as the trim. Thoughts?

I've been interested in painting my bedroom this color for years.

Seems similar to Iron Ore, no?
Edited to add: NVM, I see lots of blue in Railings whereas Iron Ore is more of a soft black or charcoal/dark grey. Beautiful color!

railings is beautiful. I have an accent wall in my entrance way in BM Soot and am thinking about changing it to railings.

I chose SW Peppercorn as my bedroom color and even tho it’s an pure dark gray (RGB 88) it does give off a blue tint just like Railing

Starting a NE facing LR project starting with the fireplace. It's been modified from the original white brick to a massive dark pine wood, hammered distressed with large muted floor tiles. I'm replacing the floor tiles with traditional arts and craft muted green Motawi tiles and considering Railings or Studio Green for the mantle and the wall the fireplace is on like in one of the video's. Oxford looks like a great choice for the rest of the walls as there's a lot of other warm oak wood in the room. thoughts?

Railings is like blue jeans. You can put it with anything and it looks amazing.

I love railings and have always wanted to paint at least one wall in my sitting room this colour. But with the move to more warm/neural interiors I’m struggling to find a way to make it feel more cosy and soft - any ideas?

I have been in love with Railings for years. Planned to use on my cabinets. Unfortunately, our cabinet maker only uses SW paints. All sources I could find had Cyberspace as the 'perfect' dupe for Railings. I ordered Samplize of both and Cyberspace is far more charcoal and in EVERY light, a complete mismatch. After several other Samplize tries, it seemed Inkwell was far closer. Very confused! It seems Railings can't be matched??

There's nothing wrong w grey. It's beautiful when used the right way. It shouldn't be on floors though. But there's so many variations and undertones to greys that, if used properly, can be beautiful. I think people need to stop saying enough w the grey. Just because it was overdone in recent years doesn't mean it can't be beautifully used.

@@chandracox6814 I totally agree. I have grey in the main living rooms in my condo and I am going to repaint soon. I have been looking at other colours for something different and the beige, greige, warmer tones just really do not work with my style and my furniture. Although I am going a bit lighter in the grey choice and will probably choose stonington grey.
