    Great video. Only thing I would recommend putting some lubricant in the hole. Makes it a lot easier 👍🏻

    You should use lubricant when doing this - WD-40 minimum but there are proper cutting greases too. Makes for easier and cleaner result.

    dont you need a thread inserts to make it strong ? like a spring coil which will go inside the hole and you can put bolts on top of it ..

    Thanks for the great video, how would you recommend getting the bolt out in the 1st place?

    Is it possible to do this with the wheel still on , with all lugs screwed in (minus the 1 in the broken thread of course) ?

    • @kildareeman
      @kildareeman  Рік тому +4

      Depends how long the tap is that you’re going using. To give me better access and visibility I decided to take off the wheel. I’m biggest fear is that the tap would go in at an angle which would be a right disaster 🙈🙈

      The plug tap you will buy in a good hardware/ engineering supply store. Then the adaptor for the 1/2” ratchet was purchased from King Tony Tools 👍

    Hi, great video ! I have question
    What do you mean by "it goes all the way through", (about the plug and the other one) wich one should i use ? I have some bolts not screwing in the hole, and some screwing in the wind (non-stop screwing for nothing)

    • @kildareeman
      @kildareeman  2 роки тому

      You need the “plug” tap. These is used when the hole does not go all the way through the metal. Hope this helps👍

    Did you use original lug bolt after repair?

    • @kildareeman
      @kildareeman  2 роки тому +2

      I got away with using original bolt however I would visually inspect your one first. If it’s badly damaged you will end up undoing your good work 👍

    What is the name of the adapter that you used?

    • @kildareeman
      @kildareeman  3 роки тому

      It’s a tap holder socket that fits onto a 1/2 inch ratchet. I bought it off King Tony tools👍

    • @kildareeman
      @kildareeman  Рік тому

      Depends if the thread is damaged on the original bolt/stud. If in doubt get a new replacement stud 👍

    Do you have a recommendation for torque setting

    • @kildareeman
      @kildareeman  2 роки тому

      I just make sure it’s good and tight(better be safe than sorry). I usually don’t tighten the lock stud as much as it could be hard to remove with damaging in the future.
