When it was new on Enterprise in the first season thru the 4th... This song saved my life and it and the Enterprise series is why I'm here today. It gave me hope, made me want to live again after a lot of bad shit. I'm here because of this one song.
It definitely lifts you up from despair in an amazing way at least it has done that for me whenever I feel down I play this song and it gives me a new beginning every time
This song helped keep me going years ago when I was going through the most difficult period in my life I had ever had to deal with. I had the loss of a job due to budget cutbacks, the loss of several family members, and friends within about a 5 month period. I used to set my cd player to keep repeating this song as a reminder that even though I’ve seen the darkest days, I’ve got faith.
You sound like me. I retreat into music when I am at the bottom. Usually old dance/techno music, but this one rips my heart out, and puts it back together....hope you are better by now.......
Hang in there! I can relate. Many have these dips in life & question Why Me? 😪Often with no support in our silent private world. Keep this song in your head & heart!🎶👍😘
I'm there now, out of work, had to move due to rent, suffering the loss of a lifelong companion, family members gone or going and seeing my old freinds dwindle away into their new lives. Partly inspired by this song, I tell myself its ok because life will always present its challenges, its why we enjoy living and aprechiate what we do have when we have it. Struggles now will make the good times to come more meaningful. I'll keep going with that faith in my heart, because that's who we as humans truly are, curious explorers, and passionate survivor's. If nature presents a challenge, then it makes life meaningful and forges you as a person when you overcome it, we must keep going because nothing can suppress the passionate fire in our hearts, use the love you felt for whats now gone to fuel you. To anyone struggling right now: if you feel you are at the bottom right now and that there is nothing to be happy about then try to excite in the rewards to be enjoyed from going back up if you just keep taking each day as it comes, it gets better and will make you even stronger eventually, please keep going, I know you can, I know we all can because we all share that inner strength but we can't always see it. I believe in you, to give up too soon isn't in your nature, there are people who care. I care. Us humans are amazing and our lives are meaningful. So stay strong, you are amazing even if you can't see it right now. Never lose faith and never loose hope. Those we have lost survive through us, always remember that love never dies.
In many ways this song captures what humanity strives for as explorers, and in a sense it fit with Enterprise as humanity took its first steps as explorers into a larger galaxy. The journey started with Enterprise and continues with Picard and possibly beyond.
"In many ways this song captures what humanity strives for as explorers, and in a sense it fit with Enterprise as humanity took its first steps as explorers into a larger galaxy" Just because if that, the song is the best song for that show. A lot of Trekkies doesnt agree that this song belongs to any Star Trek series, because all other series are instrumental. But they just wanted to say: "this is the start, of the exploration for humankind. and very important; the start of Starfleet!". The best song for the show, and one of the two of my favorite shows of Star Trek! :D
I agree, this song does capture what humanity strives for and Star Trek represents an ideal future but in practice it would never work because that is a utopian society and humanity is not perfect.
And finally NASA is starting up the next moon landing missions. Our new highest tech rocket will launch later this month (hopefully, and without passengers) but I'm so happy to see a real space program again in my lifetime. I was never around during the first moon landing, but maybe I'll be around for the first 4K HD landing. 😁
When first hearing this, did you think it was sung by a black woman? African American, I mean. I'm serious, because I was shocked to find it was a guy.
This song just hits differently 🙌a song that speaks volumes straight to the soul, relatable to many, gets me every time 😪 always makes me think of my dad the dark days suffered since losing him, rip dad 💙🙏 beautiful song!
Star Trek: Enterprise and this, the theme song, came out around the same time I decided to return to university after a few years of trying to make use of my art school degree. It always lights a fire under me every time I hear it, and so I would listen to it on headphones on my way to classes.
Always get "Goose Bumps", each time I hear this song... Every parent should save this song and play this for their young children to encourage them to better and greater hights in their lives
This is the first time I've heard this in over 12 years. It has been too painful to hear it because when this song played during the opening credits my Aunt rang to tell us Nan had just passed away. Along with the song and the visuals of people flying broke us all apart as our Nan was excited because she was going to fly for the first time and have a holiday aboard for the first time in her life before she fell ill. And I know it's kinda silly but when I first went abroad, I made sure I packed my Nan's photo with my things. I just needed to do that for her.
Sometimes the sentiments we think sound silly, are really the best of intentions made with heart. What you did was honor her memory, and I think she would approve.
This song brings back memories of my late best friend who died shortly after the final season of Enterprise. I too love this song that much more because before his death, we watched this show as it was the only Star Trek show he actually liked. Tears of both joy and sorrow, even today.
Faith of the heart. There is always hope. Hope never escaped from Pandora's box. We will always have faith and hope. Love Enterprise, love this song. Thanks
My dad and I used to watch through all the Star Treks, all the Stargates when I was a kid. There my love for space started. There my love for sci-fi started and the vast curiosity of what is out there and left to explore. This is the song that really stuck out, this was my favourite song from all those shows. Although Star Trek NG was my favourite this was a very close second.
Most don't know that Enterprise was written as the FIRST Star Trek show, even though it was done last. Sort of like what was done with Star Wars...the first film shown was actually the third in the series.
Always, always, ALWAYS just loved this song and the grit in the singer's voice is just perfect for it. I also love the video, much of which was used in the opening of the Enterprise show every week. What makes my spirit soar when I hear and see it is that so much of that footage from the test pilots to the Mercury/Gemini/Apollo program, from the shuttle missions to the Mars rover, and the homage to the three crews who perished while reaching for the stars-- that all REALLY happened! Live long and prosper, humans in space!
There's a list of test pilots before the space program that should be remembered, as well as the three fatal mishaps during. Thank you for recognizing the three incidents, nonetheless, I'm sure many people don't know what they're seeing with the first and third instances. God Speed and safe journeys! 🇺🇲❤️
As a lover of both anthropology and aviation, this song and video gets me in the feels every time. I cannot watch without crying. The perseverance of the human spirit is strong.
I LOVE this song! Ever since I heard it as the theme song for Star Trek, it has been a favourite song as it's so inspiring as I face challenges such as learning to walk again after a bad accident!
I grew up singing blaring his albums all over my house. When he got cancer I nearly had a break down at like age 10 😂 I was obsessed with him I use to hear "turn that f'n music off" I use to higher it up hahahahah
I’m a singer with horrible anxiety attacks. I used to sing in choruses only. After conquering my anxiety about solo singing- this was my first solo song. With my best friends joining me for the chorus. It resonates with that moment to me
I fallen in love this song while watching The Enterprise. Then I brought it and kept singing this song while I was in bed while I fought and recovered from COVID-19. Now I will forever cherish this song.
This song got played all night at my 60 th year party event.I love it so much in my heart for what me and my sister have have done in both of our life.

I have great close friends at NASA and Lockheed Martin skunk works who came over from America when i was 60 for my birthday party. They went to the same university that me and my sister went to great friends.I did not expect them to come over from America. My wife and my daughter and my sister got them over that day.My eyes and the tears of joy when they walked through the door was fantastic that day in my life.👍👍👍🤣🤣😂😂🤩🤩🥰
So sorry for your loss u hadn't thought if u a ingbtjis but it would have been fitting my father was a soldier so I played God bless the USA and go rest high on thst mountain.
Once we land on Mars I’ll edit this video to include it. It doesn’t matter where you’re from or where you’re born, be proud of the achievements of our species.
This really is a marvelous edit. It's not all sugar and spice. It has its moments of reminding us of the crushing setbacks delivered on our journey, which only emphasizes our will to press on, which is the message of the song. Nothing will bend or break us. There is something out there for us to find and we have a genetic need to find it, just as the Polynesians set out across the Pacific on wooden rafts over a century ago.
This song reminds me of how farI've come in life. And that nomatter how bad things can get, there is always a better tomorrow waiting for me. I believe in that so much that I stand here now working at the very large array in socorro New Mexico. While it was not my dream job at NASA working the DSS, I find myself part of a very important position as we transition from the VLA to the NgVLA which I'll have a direct role in initiating. Every antenna you'll see from that will be one I personally built tested, and approved for deployment. Soon the first test antenna will be out at the site. And my design and construction of the front end system will be featured prominently. The thought that I'll be part of that... it keeps me going.
I think so many people can identify with this song Especially after being through many hardships and having your dreams blocked by people with narrow vision and evil intentions, but still perseverance and hope and Devine Providence manage to persevere and succeed
It's been a long road Getting from there to here It's been a long time But my time is finally near And I can feel the change in the wind right now Nothing's in my way And they're not gonna hold me down no more No, they're not gonna hold me down 'Cause I've got faith of the heart I'm going where my heart will take me I've got faith to believe I can do anything I've got strength of the soul And no one's gonna bend or break me I can reach any star I've got faith I've got faith, faith of the heart It's been a long night Trying to find my way Been through the darkness Now I finally have my day And I will see my dream come alive at last I will touch the sky And they're not gonna hold me down no more No, they're not gonna change my mind 'Cause I've got faith of the heart I'm going where my heart will take me I've got faith to believe I can do anything I've got strength of the soul And no one's gonna bend or break me I can reach any star I've got faith, faith of the heart I've known the wind so cold, I've seen the darkest days But now the winds I feel, are only winds of change I've been through the fire and I've been through the rain But I'll be fine 'Cause I've got faith of the heart I'm going where my heart will take me I've got faith to believe I can do anything I've got strength of the soul And no one's gonna bend or break me I can reach any star 'Cause I've got faith of the heart I'm going where my heart will take me I've got strength of the soul No one's gonna bend or break me I can reach any star I've got faith I've got faith, faith of the heart It's been a long road
I am not a man of faith. But one thing I want to believe in deeply, is that we will one day leave our differences behind us and explore the depths of the universe together. The things we did not know 200 years ago. And the things we will discover in the next centuries. I have faith in us. We can be better. I have faith.
sometimes its important to stop and realise just how far we have come in the last couple hundred years.... brings a tear to your eye knowing what our species is capable of when we start to look forward and run head first into the future.
I wish to dedicate this song to my beautiful Alina, whose husband Daniel abuses her terribly... Never give up hope, Alina, and always have faith of the heart... I love you.
First performed by Rod Stewart for the 1998 Movie Patch Adams. When I first heard it on Enterprise I thought it was the Original, Russel sounds a little bit like Stewart, both good versions
How about so many Nazis in this video. Has anyone noticed that besides me. Maybe thats the reason behind it. I dont like seeing V2 with smiling Himmler
Black and white religious thinking is poopoo. I'm an atheist and I find this song to be very inspiring. Faith doesn't have to mean religious faith and definitely doesn't here.
Mine too sir. So many pioneers have strived to be the best of humanity that they can be... offering the rest of us a glimpse of our future. Yet, today... they have become 'dust in the wind'. One day... humanity will be reminded from whence it came... by going to where it's going to if we as an intelligent species fail to get along.
When it was new on Enterprise in the first season thru the 4th... This song saved my life and it and the Enterprise series is why I'm here today. It gave me hope, made me want to live again after a lot of bad shit. I'm here because of this one song.

@@fatherburke9011 despair is the exact right word. It lifted me out of it.
People hated it because it had lyrics.
For as much as this song was maligned as the title song of Enterprise, I took to it then and appreciate that much more now. 😀
It was originally recorded by rod Stewart for the end song for the movie "patch adams" starring the late Robin Williams.
The song is good, but it didn't fit the show.
How about so many Nazis in this video. Has anyone noticed that besides me
Duje Stančić The Germans made several contributions to rocket science, and aviation.
It includes all that Star Trek, and especially this series stand for.

I watch this when I need to remind myself that humanity is not worth giving up on.
Yep, especially during this pandemic
It was Gene Roddenberry's pillar principle when he created Star Trek. The best is yet to come.
It's a tough sell, but for the time being, I'm with you, not gonna give up just yet.
Yes I do the same.
6/18/2024: And it still isn’t!🫡
This song is going to be in my head ever since I watched Enterprise
Tell me you don`t get tears in the eyes watching this... so fkn amazing how much progress we made despite all the difficulties we had..

My Fav Star Trek theme song.
This without a doubt is my favourite of all the versions. Russell Watson’s voice captures the essence of the song so beautifully! 💕

And I can feel the change in the wind right now
Nothing's in my way
And they're not gonna hold me down no more

I can reach any star
I've got faith
I've got faith, faith of the heart
It's been a long night
Trying to find my way
Been through the darkness
Now I finally have my day
And I will see my dream come alive at last

And they're not gonna hold me down no more
No, they're not gonna change my mind
'Cause I've got faith of the heart
I'm going where my heart will take me

I can do anything
I've got strength of the soul
And no one's gonna bend or break me
I can reach any star
I've got faith, faith of the heart
I've known the wind so cold, I've seen the darkest days
But now the winds I feel, are only winds of change
I've been through the fire and I've been through the rain
But I'll be fine
'Cause I've got faith of the heart
I'm going where my heart will take me
I've got faith to believe
I can do anything
I've got strength of the soul
And no one's gonna bend or break me
I can reach any star
'Cause I've got faith of the heart
I'm going where my heart will take me
I've got strength of the soul
No one's gonna bend or break me
I can reach any star
I've got faith
I've got faith, faith of the heart
It's been a long road
I am not a man of faith. But one thing I want to believe in deeply, is that we will one day leave our differences behind us and explore the depths of the universe together. The things we did not know 200 years ago. And the things we will discover in the next centuries. I have faith in us. We can be better. I have faith.
sometimes its important to stop and realise just how far we have come in the last couple hundred years.... brings a tear to your eye knowing what our species is capable of when we start to look forward and run head first into the future.
I love this song!!! I can reach any star cause I got strench of the soul!
Wonderful and powerful song for Star Trek philosophy...reach the stars with the faith of your Heart
I love faith of heart!!!!
Borrowing Jules Verne's words...what one can imagine , other make it come true, it's amazing what humankind achieved in less than a century.
I dedicate this song to my beautiful and wonderful Springboks who won the Rugby World Cup 2019, against all odds. We all had faith, we all had hope.
Beautiful videos incredibly well placed to go along with the song, nice job.
BRILL !! good work true to the spirit of Trek and just exploration!!
I wish to dedicate this song to my beautiful Alina, whose husband Daniel abuses her terribly...
Never give up hope, Alina, and always have faith of the heart...
I love you.
it's crazy to see just how far we got in such a short span of time.
First performed by Rod Stewart for the 1998 Movie Patch Adams. When I first heard it on Enterprise I thought it was the Original, Russel sounds a little bit like Stewart, both good versions
The 25 dislikes are flat earthers
How about so many Nazis in this video. Has anyone noticed that besides me. Maybe thats the reason behind it. I dont like seeing V2 with smiling Himmler
Very good job. Thank you.
Faith of the SOUL. Atheists don't believe in souls, do they? No need to answer, I once was an atheist myself. Amazing Grace, Glory be to God.
This song is not about god
I as an Atheist do believe in souls, it's just another word for spirit, though you'd have to ask others
Black and white religious thinking is poopoo. I'm an atheist and I find this song to be very inspiring. Faith doesn't have to mean religious faith and definitely doesn't here.
Who here waited for the Enterprise to show up and warp out?
I did, but the video really didn't need it!
Me
Star Trek fan yes 100 percent i have every movie from the series.
The Wright brothers clip put a tear in my eye!
I know this is not a "Christian" song but has all the tenants of the walk with Jesus Christ. It's an encouragement for the believer to HOLD ON!!
Okay I'm not going to lie the opening bars with the picture of Galileo(?) made me feel some real emotions
Take us home, warp 5. Engage!
