See… I’m frustrated because I took my wife to Red Rooster based on this video. And it wasn’t even CLOSE to this meal. The chicken was overcooked and under-seasoned, the mac was more greens than mac (legit just a clump of greens in the middle of the pasta) Cornbread was dry. The only thing that was even remotely good was the sweet potatoes, but it’s kinda hard to mess up sweet potatoes. We were so disappointed because we’re both fans of Marcus from Chopped, so we were extra excited when we saw him in this episode. Hopefully, whoever was on the stove that night was replaced, because I would NOT recommend wasting your time going there.
Sylvia’s on the other hand is a CLASSIC. I’d definitely recommend it for some quality southern comfort food.

I saw this video years ago and it did something to my brain. Seeing them dive into that fried chicken and caviar and LOVE it, and explain why it was worth spending all the money... ever since then, I haven't felt bad about splurging a little when I eat out, PARTICULARLY when I travel. I don't go to concerts, I don't travel much, but getting an incredible food experience has turned out to be absolutely worth it for me!
