I went to a demo day last weekend. The Cobra added 2000 rpm of spin on my 7 iron and came up 20 yards shorter than my current Calloway’s. The Pings on the other hand were butter. Sold! The Cobra Air X driver was spot on. Supremely forgiving. Sold!

Went for a fitting. Chose Taylormade Stealth over the Pings... The Taylormade's felt softer and was able to hit them more consistently (which is saying something for me!)

Currently playing Cobra Forged Tec X irons and considered the Paradigm BUT....the last two sets of Callaway irons - the previous Rogue and the more recent Rogue ST did not wear well. Fortunately Callaway took them back and gave me a good price on a pre-owned trade in and I bought the "must have" Paradigm driver. Back to the Cobras - extremely happy with them and well worth a look. Chris swore by his previous generation set.

The Ping G430 irons weren't on my list of irons to test. However, they were the stand out irons for my fitting. Nothing came close in terms of line and dispersion. I thought I'd end up with Taylormade or Callaway but they weren't even close for me. Keep up these great videos.

Just got fitted today.... and same, I was not sure what iron to expect to be in my bag next.....but was surprised (and happy) it will be the Ping G430s. No doubt they were the best/most forgiving irons I shot out there. Super excited to get them in and hopefully get a couple rounds in before the end of the season. The trajectory was just like none other..... they took off like fighter jet and just kept creeping higher and higher. Almost every shot felt like butter coming off the face (if you are a low handicap I am sure every shot will feel perfect). Good luck with your new G430s!!

I went for a fitting and tried out: Paradym, JPX 923 Pro (and non-Pro), G430, AeroJet, and ZX5. They all performed better than my current set, but JPX 923 Pro and ZX5 were a little more on target and just felt great when hitting it flush. Ultimately, went with the JPX 923 Pro. Maybe all the simulator sessions (3x per week) and lessons have been paying off this off season, but I wouldn't have considered the JPX923 Pro or ZX5 as a mid/high handicapper.

I purchased cobra t-rail irons this winter. Granted, I'm high handicapper, but they have been a game changer! I had a tendency of hitting out of the toe and with more bladed irons, it would kill my distance. With these, while I lose a bit of length, it's only 5-15 yards, not 50+. I freaking love them!

I love that you do test and give your honest opinions of these companies and not just the major brands. I wish I could hit the takomo irons somewhere but obviously that’s part of the better price. Haven’t golfed in over 2 years now due to getting hit by a ball from about 15 yards away off a tee box of the next hole over. Guy hitting was so drunk he didn’t even realize what he had done. Ended up rupturing 3 tendons in my forearm. Have been relearning how to close my left hand ever since. Hoping it’s finally strong enough to grip a club. If so I am going to treat myself to a new set of irons!

Got fitted for a set of Mizuno pro 225 last year. Overall been playing then pretty well , just finding as of lately my off hits have been getting me in to trouble, really considering moving back to a more forgiving iron, currently playing off 17 looking to push to get down to a 12/13 through the summer, shall I just stick with Mizuno or go for a new fitting & look for a more forgiving iron?? Thanks for a great video as always 👌🏻

    hi guys
I got into golf last year, started to love it and bough a set of clubs taylormade psi's muscle backs i believe after watching a few videos I believed I should be using cavity backs for more forgiveness however when I swapped to cavity I cant seem to even hit a ball to save my life I've tried and tried but cant use them at all any ideas of what clubs a new beginner like me should be using I've got so use to the nice slim face and the fat chunky cavity irons now scare me!! help.

So the PXG 0211s aren't in the top 5? So the Tokomo 101s are better and lower priced? I'm a weekend mid to high handicap golfer and want the most bang for my buck. Not gonna spend 1000$ on clubs. One, I'm not good enough, Two, can't afford them really. But could get PXG or Tokomo. Which should I pick? Are they about equal on distnace and forgiveness? I want to be able to have a smooth controlled swing without giving up distance

problem with forgiving is most are offset. props to paradym and zx5 not 4 for limiting offset. really the only non offset ultimate forgiving iron was the macgregor vfoil for its day. adams idea had very little offset but was almost hybrid like....

2hat good does it do to have a "good forgiving" iron if you struggle making consistent contact. Will stop thinking or fitting shots 🤔

Hello James... I would have to argue that Callaway should be at least #2 on your top 5 list then Cobra #3... I have not tried the Ping Irons, and honestly never gave them much thought. I've always been a Callaway guy and I play the Rogue ST Max and Paradym X Irons. I also own a set of the Cobra LTDx Irons, they are very nice, but Callaway looks and feels much better to me. I would like to try the Ping Irons just to see how they compare to the Callaway Irons. It would be interesting to see and feel the difference between the two. Thanks again for another great video. I enjoy your content very much and I am a subscriber!
